Basically, Nicole told Charlie he needs to grow up and quite relying on other people to stand him back up again.

Nicole Richie knows a thing or two about rehab, and she had some things to say about Charlie Sheen’s latest troubles while co-hosting on ‘The View.’

According to Us Magazine, the 29-year-old newlywed and mother of two blasted Sheen’s comments that CBS has meddled in his “personal life” and his attempts at sobriety.

“I don’t think he should make it somebody else’s responsibility to keep him sober,” Richie, who has been arrested three times and went to rehab once for substance abuse, said.

Isn’t Nicole like 20 years younger than Charlie? Why should she have to be the one to tell Charlie to go and get cleaned up?

Since Nicole and Joel got engaged, she’s been glowing! Could that be the reason why there’s an upcoming wedding?

Nicole hasn’t made a mention of it herself, but the tabloids are all over her loose apparel. Nicole did wait several months in to both her pregnancies before she announced anything to the public, so maybe she’s doing that again?

This just in from the Better Late Than Never Department: Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are engaged.

Capping a Valentine’s weekend in style, Richie announced during Monday’s taping of the Late Show With David Letterman that, after three years of courtship, two children and one confused lawyer, she and her rocking beau are finally ready to walk the aisle.

Awwww, I wonder what finally prompted them to make the move? Will Nicole opt for a big blowout or a more private ceremony?

Instead of Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Cyndi Lauper and the late Michael Jackson (whose previously recorded voice, however, will be heard on the tune), the 2010 version will be headlined by Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne, Wyclef Jean, Josh Groban and Will.I.Am. It features a newly penned hip-hop break written by the Black Eyed Peas leader that makes reference to the January 12 earthquake in Haiti, the victims of which will benefit from the song’s proceeds.

Among the rap artists making the cut for “We Are the World — 25 for Haiti” are T-Pain, Kanye West, Bizzy Bone, Kid Cudi, LL Cool J, Snoop Dogg, Drake, Mann, Nipsey Hussle, Busta Rhymes and Swizz Beatz.

And though rumored participants such as Lady Gaga, Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake were not in attendance, the sessions did feature a number of current stars such as Miley Cyrus, Keri Hilson and Best New Artist Grammy winner Zac Brown.

There were the requisite classic artists who pitched in, including Barbra Streisand; Carlos Santana; Natalie Cole; BeBe Winans; the members of Heart; Freda Payne; Harry Connick Jr.; Earth, Wind & Fire; the Beach Boys’ Brian Wilson and Al Jardine; Tony Bennett; “Slumdog Millionaire” film score composer A.R. Rahman; “American Idol” judge Randy Jackson; Patti Austin; Celine Dion and Gladys Knight. A few actors were in the studio (Jeff Bridges and Vince Vaughn), as well as the offspring of co-producers Lionel Richie and Quincy Jones, Nicole Richie and “Parks and Recreation” star Rashida Jones, and the members of 3T (the sons of Tito Jackson), Taj, Taryll and TJ Jackson.

Joel and Benji Madden were on hand, as were Akon, Brandy, Melanie Fiona, Mya, Musiq Soulchild, Katharine McPhee, Trey Songz, Faith Evans, “Heroes” actor Jimmy Jean-Louis (“the Haitian”) and former Michael Jackson guitarist Orianthi.

Also pitching in according to a press statement from organizers were the members of Sugarland, Jennifer Hudson, Jason Mraz, India.Arie, Mary Mary, Tyrese Gibson, Raphael Saadiq, Pink, Jordin Sparks, Rob Thomas, Usher, the Fray’s Isaac Slade, child prodigy pianist Ethan Bortnick, Enrique Iglesias, Robin Thicke, Jamie Foxx, Maroon 5′s Adam Levine, the Jonas Brothers, Nicole Scherzinger and Julianne Hough.

Co-producer Richie said that Janet Jackson would be laying down her version of Michael Jackson’s part on Tuesday, and he hinted that some other artists might also be added over the next few days.

For the March issue of Marie Clarie UK (via People) Nicole told the magazine:

“I felt it was a little unfair to say someone has an eating disorder when they don’t. It’s extremely insulting and irresponsible,” she says. “An eating disorder is serious and it’s a disease. I don’t think you can lightly say someone has a disease unless they are openly telling you that they do.”

Forgive us. Her slight frame was probably the result of vegetables and pilates, right? Isn’t that Hollywood’s standard answer for weight loss?

The two never said publicly what the argument was over, but it must have been something big. But now, it’s over? Or at least maybe they are speaking and willing to bury the hatchet. Regardless, according to several well-placed sources Nicole has told writers to etch out a central role for Simpson.

“The two women and their children spend a lot of time socializing together, and Nicole decided she’d like to work with her close friend. Nicole’s generous offer could not have come at a better time for Ashlee.
The 25 year-old former pop star is still being devastated over being uncermoniously axed from “Melrose Place” just two months into the season. She made her Broadway debut on Nov. 30, taking on the role of Roxie Hart in a revival of “Chicago,” but her planned 10-week-run ends in February.

Eh, why not? Just imagine all the splashy press photos of Ashlee and Nicole and the gossip that is likely to ensue. The press alone will keep the vehicle running for at least five episodes.

Maybe working on this show is what made Nicole so sick! She needs to rest! From Access Hollywood:

I am so excited to announce that I am officially working on a television project,” Nicole wrote on her official Web site. “I am creating a half hour scripted comedy for ABC in which I will be starring in, as well as producing.”

The star explained her comedy “revolves around a young, modern and professional woman who must balance her business and family relationships.”

“She must deal with, and navigate the many ideas of what a woman’s role is: modern vs. traditional,” the budding series actress wrote.

That sounds more like reality to me! Nicole is a busy woman, juggling all those things right now. Does everything the TV character touches turn to gold as well?

Nicole is said to be doing well. That’s a relief – she has to get home and take care of two babies. From People Magazine:

On Sunday, Richie, 28, said on her Twitter page that she had been battling illness, writing, “ok cold, it’s been 6 days. Lets part ways graciously & keep it moving.”

And the following day, at a court hearing to get restraining orders against two paparazzi, Richie appeared subdued and her lawyer indicated to the judge that she wasn’t feeling well.

That’s a bummer to feel so sick, let alone to be sick in court and in front of a judge! Nicole is one tough cookie though, so she will have a speedy recovery. Hopefully she can get lots of rest before she goes home to care for the kiddos. Get well soon!

According to People.com:

“In her filing, Richie states that photographers Eduardo Arrivebene and Ivon Miguel daily “stalk” Richie and her family, and that they “sit outside my house, waiting for me to leave.” She alleges that they “scream at me in an attempt to get my reaction, scare me, follow me, chase me in [their] vehicle,” causing her “severe emotional distress.”

A hearing is set for Nov. 16 to determine whether to extend the orders.

Kendra seems to be on the cover of every magazine these days, showing off her baby bump (which is getting huge, by the way!) She talks about her role model via Hollyscoop:

“I look up to Nicole. She is the girl that I mostly look up to because she is more like me. She gives me the feeling of, ‘She did it and I can do it.’ She makes me feel good about what she’s accomplished.”

“She went through the same stages in life that I went through. Drugs, alcohol, all of that,” Kendra says. “It just makes me feel so good to see her go through that and then have two kids and be such a great mom.”

So Kendra is admitting to drugs here, too. Great. What else goes on in that Playboy Mansion, because Kendra moved in when she was 19.

It was paparazzi chasing Nicole for a picture that crashed in to her. How irresponsible! From Popeater:

According to reports, Richie claimed she was in pain but told authorities she would see her own private doctors. The driver of the other car is being cited for being an unlicensed driver and his car is being impounded.

Richie had an adult male passenger in the car, but there is no word on his condition. Her two children Sparrow James Midnight Madden and Harlow Winter Kate Madden were not in the car with her.

Seriously, is a picture worth that much that people, who are unlicensed and illegal, are willing to go against laws to get? They are lucky the kids weren’t in the car or Joel Madden probably would have gone nuts on them!

Nicole and Joel picked an interesting combination. Sparrow reminds me of birds and Johnny Depp! From US Weekly:

“In the middle of night, the very early hours of September 9, 2009, Sparrow James Midnight Madden was born to Nicole Richie and Joel Madden,” she announced on her website Wednesday. “He weighs 7lbs 14oz. Nicole, Joel, Harlow [their 19-month-old daughter] and Sparrow are all doing well. Thank you for all of your good wishes.”

Congratulations! I wonder when the first pictures of him will be released. I can’t imagine Joel and Nicole would produce anything less than adorable.

Hopefully the news and name of  Nicole and Joel’s baby will be released soon. According to Latina:

Nicole Richie checked into a local Los Angeles hospital over the long Labor Day weekend in anticipation of giving birth to her second child. Richie had apparently wanted to be able to pay her last respects to ex-fiancé Adam Goldstein (aka DJ AM) before heading to the maternity ward.

The couple refused to find out the sex of the baby until the birth, telling press, “We don’t know what the sex is. We waited on the first one and it was such an awesome experience that we can’t wait to see what the next one is. It’s exciting to wait it out.”

Is this a new practice, to check in before you actually go in to labor? I thought you only did that for C-sections, but I know they wouldn’t keep you in over the weekend for that!

Nicole was with Adam for two years before they broke up in 2006. That’s a lot of time and it really wasn’t that long ago. According to Ace Showbiz:

Celebrity socialite Nicole Richie “almost collapsed in grief” when she first learned about the sudden death of her ex-fiance DJ AM. An insider tells Star Magazine, the pregnant reality TV star “said she felt like her heart stopped for a few minutes,” forcing her doctor to rush to her house to check on her condition.

“Adam was the one who got her to straighten up,” a source chimes in when referring to how the late spinner helped Nicole giving up her addiction to drugs. “She never thought he’d come to this. She’s horrified and regrets that she didn’t reach out and help him.”

DJ Am’s death is a horrible tragedy because he had been doing so well, but I don’t know if Nicole could have done anything for him. His demons were so powerful, he wouldn’t let his manager in to his apartment in the last days of his life. Sad indeed. Hopefully Nicole is resting OK!

Nicole used to be a real party girl, especially when her and Paris Hilton were shooting their reality show. Nicole was a huge trouble maker. According to Hollyscoop:

Nicole and Mischa used to be really close friends, but after Nicole started a family with Joel Madden, she stopped associating with Mischa because she didn’t want to be around “negative, unsafe behavior.”

“In the last few years, her dark side has really come out,” says the source, who is close to both Richie and Barton. “Her friends, like Nicole, want to be supportive but they really can’t be around her too much. She’s too volatile.”

Mischa’s got a sad tale to tell, it seems. Someone needs to help her get on the right path or else her story is going to have a sad ending. Somebody, get Mischa real help!
