The student body didn’t think the University needed to shell out for the reported $10 – $20K fee Bristol was demanding. Ouch! Bristol thinks it wasn’t about money but politics.

“Bristol was invited to speak with college students as part of a panel. Evidently she has now been disinvited because of apparent concerns by some vocal members of the undergraduate community,” the statement reads.

“Bristol is deeply disappointed that an institution that publicly claims to “listen to diverse and sometimes conflicting perspectives, to contribute rigorous academic standards and unbiased scholarship to discussions, and to encourage a civil discourse in which a pluralistic society can respectfully address complex and difficult issues” would withdraw an invitation to a speaker because of “uproar” over their assumed content of her message or even worse, because of her last name.”

Well, what do you think? Was it really her speaking fee – which most people on panels like that are paid for, it isn’t just Bristol – or was it her political last name? Bristol probably has a lot of great things to say about teen pregnancy, because she dealt with it first hand. Would you ever go listen to what she has to say?

As reports by TMZ, the pot gala is set to go down next month in L.A. — and according to the ad, marijuana patients are going to “celebrate Obama ending DEA raids” on weed stores.

This is as crazy as it gets!

What does the White House has to say about this?

A rep for the White House told TMZ there’s a longstanding policy “disapproving of the use of the President’s name and likeness for commercial purposes” — but the rep wouldn’t say if the Photoshoppin’ potheads were going to face legal action over the ad.

I’m guessing those posters are going to have to be recycled for a good cause, messing with the president isn’t a good idea.

John sure is a smooth operator…makes you have a lot of faith in the political system, even though he wasn’t elected. According to the Boston Herald:

“John has said that when his divorce is final, he’ll buy her a diamond ring,” a source told the Enquirer. “But in the meantime, he’s getting them a house.”

A spokesman for Edwards called the report “absolutely untrue” in an e-mailed statement to CNN.

The tabloid, which helped break the Edwards affair story, reported the ex-senator proposed shortly after he publicly admitted fathering the couple’s 2-year-old girl, Frances Quinn.

“John dropped the proposal bomb on Rielle shortly before he issued his statement” that he was indeed Frances’ father, a source close to Edwards told the supermarket tabloid.

The Enquirer has a good track record for John’s messy news…are they correct on this one too? John denied an affair for months after the Enquirer said he was having one, then he admitted it almost two years later. Is this true now too and we’ll find out in two years?

According Former Polish President Lech Walesa, who won the prize in 1983 said (via The Huffington Post):

“So soon? Too early. He has no contribution so far. He is still at an early stage. He is only beginning to act,” Walesa said. “This is probably an encouragement for him to act. Let’s see if he perseveres. Let’s give him time to act,” Walesa said.

Pres. Obama himself seconded the notions, admitting how humbled he felt.

“Obama said he was surprised and deeply humbled by the honor, and planned to travel to Oslo to accept the prize, which he said he does not see “as a recognition of my own accomplishments,” but rather as a recognition of goals he has set for the United States and the world. “I do not feel that I deserve to be in the company of so many transformative figures that have been honored by this prize,” Obama said.

West told Leno he’s going to take some time off to reflect and that “it was rude, period.”

ABC network had issued an apology after the Internet quickly became abuzz over the stunning quote published on the Tweeter.

An ABC spokesperson said, “In the process of reporting on remarks by President Obama that were made during a CNBC interview, ABC News employees prematurely tweeted a portion of those remarks that turned out to be from an off-the-record portion of the interview,” Politico reported. “This was done before our editorial process had been completed. That was wrong. We apologize to the White House and CNBC and are taking steps to ensure that it will not happen again.” – Fox News

So, forget the protesters, the billions and trillions of dollars going down the economy toilet.  Let’s see what Michelle Obama wears to meet the Queen.  Even though the G-20 Summit continues, but the Obama’s were requested to meet with the Queen. No one refuses a Queen.  And they brought her and her husband Prince Phillip gifts.  From People Magazine:

The New York Post broke the story first because someone is trying to sell them the video for $2 MILLION dollars.  And the Post doesn’t want to get caught up in a legal mess if the tape is not Ashley Biden snorting coke, but they did want to get the scoop out first.  They say:

A “friend” of Vice President Joseph Biden’s daughter, Ashley, is attempting to hawk a videotape that he claims shows her snorting cocaine at a house party this month in Delaware.

Dunlap and a man claiming to be a lawyer showed The Post about 90 seconds of 43-minute tape, saying it was legally obtained and that Ashley was aware she was being filmed. The Post refused to pay for the video.

The video, which the shooter initially hoped to sell for $2 million before scaling back his price to $400,000, shows a 20-something woman with light skin and long brown hair taking a red straw from her mouth, bending over a desk, inserting the straw into her nostril and snorting lines of white powder.

Biden has been an outspoken crusader against drugs, coining the term “drug czar” in 1982 while campaigning for a more forceful “war on drugs.”

So how soon do you think this will be shushed up?  You know if this was one of George Bush’s daughters, all kinds of screaming in the media would follow.  Will they do the same for the Biden’s?

The President talked about the economy and ways that it would, could and shoulda been fixed.  Did anybody believe him?  And then Jay mentioned the crooks who took handouts and paid bonuses should do jail time.  That got real applause.  Then Obama joked about his bowling game and said even the Special Olympics wouldn’t take him.  Ouch.  From Swamp Politics:

LENO: Now, are they going to put a basketball — I imagine the bowling alley has been just burned and closed down.THE PRESIDENT: No, no. I have been practicing all — (laughter.)

LENO: Really? Really?

THE PRESIDENT: I bowled a 129. (Laughter and applause.)

LENO: No, that’s very good. Yes. That’s very good, Mr. President.

THE PRESIDENT: It’s like — it was like Special Olympics, or something. (Laughter.)

THE PRESIDENT: No, listen, I’m making progress on the bowling, yes.

Put yourself in the shoes of an intellectually disabled kid hearing that coming from a president’s mouth, maybe a child whose highest aspiration is to participate in the Special Olympics.

The engagement is off for the teenage daughter of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and the father of her baby. Levi Johnston Bristol Palin told The Associated Press on Wednesday that he and 18-year-old Bristol Palin  mutually decided “a while ago” to end their relationship. The 19-year-old Johnston declined to elaborate.

Eighteen-year-old Bristol Palin says in a statement to the AP that she is “devastated.”

The two are the parents of a boy named Tripp, who was born Dec. 27.

The rumor part factors in when you hear Levi’s sister Mercedes speak.  She says Bristol won’t let him near the baby because he is white trash!  Ha.  He doesn’t have a job, he didn’t graduate, he isn’t going to college.  What else does she think her brother is than?

Brad is known for his passion about restoring New Orleans.  Is anyone surprised?  His pals George Clooney, Matt Damon, Don Cheadle and Ben Affleck have all picked countries to promote their causes, so he picked a city.  The meeting between Pitt and Pelosi is Thursday afternoon.  From People Magazine:

“They will be discussing Make It Right, a project launched in 2007 to construct affordable and environmentally-sustainable housing for low-income residents of the Lower Ninth Ward in New Orleans who lost their homes as a result of Hurricane Katrina,” said a statement released Wednesday afternoon by Speaker Pelosi’s office.

Pitt and Pelosi, 68, are slated to kick off their meeting at 3:30 p.m., after posing for photos for the press in the Capitol Building.

The artist, Sean Delonas, depicts two cops standing over the chimp’s bullet-riddled body, one with a smoking pistol.

“They’ll have to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill,” the other cop says.

A photo of the President signing the stimulus bill appeared in Wednesday’s Post, one page before the cartoon. Readers who turned the page went right from Obama photo to the chimp drawing.

The cartoon’s conscious intent may have been to say the stimulus bill as written by Congress is such a mess it could have been penned by a monkey. – as reports by the New York Post

The magazine’s editor at large, Andre Leon Talley, interviews Michelle and according to Newsday was blown away by how “natural, normal and accessible” she was. The two gabbed about all sorts of things, but also kept a loose focus on fashion since Michelle is so scrutinized by the press.

Michelle, who chose her own outfits for the photo shoot, said this about clothing:

I’m not going to pretend that I don’t care about it,” she said. “But I also have to be very practical. In the end, someone will always not like what you wear – people just have different tastes.”
