While Adriana normally works out once a day, once a show approaches, preparations to look her best begin nearly a month in advanced…

And no, she doesn’t starve herself. Victoria’s Secret is all about curves, but that isn’t to say the models can get away with just about anything. Adriana herself ups her workouts to two times a day at the very least…

“It is really intense, it’s not really the amount of time you spend working out, it’s the intensity,”

the 30-year-old mother of one tells celebrity news.

“I jump rope, I do boxing, I lift weights, but I get bored doing that. If I am not moving I get bored very easily.”

Apart from her workouts, the Brazilian model starts a special diet nine days before the show itself. A nutritionist measures her body’s muscle mass, fat ratio and levels of water retention. Adriana only takes the prescribed protein shakes (including powdered egg), vitamins and supplements to keep her energy levels up during this training period of nine days…no solids whatsoever. She’ll drink a gallon of water everyday, as well.

“Two days before the show she will abstain from the gallon of water a day, and “just drink normally”. Then, 12 hours before the show she will stop drinking entirely.”

The nutritionist says.

“Any model in this world would love to be an Angel,”

Adriana insists, saying it’s all worth the effort.

“The Victoria’s Secret show is the highlight of my life. Becoming an Angel, once I achieved that, it was a dream come true for me.”

As the Toronto Sun reports, they don’t skimp on security measures.

“It’s like we’re walking into NASA,” said the cameraman. We’d been sniffed by guard dogs and eyed by U.S. soldiers before being allowed in.

The fact that 29-year-old Brazilian model Adriana Lima is wearing a bra encrusted with 60 carats worth of diamonds and 82 carats of topazes and sapphires valued at $2 million – hello, recession? – goes a little way to explaining the troops.

It’s the 15th edition of VC Fashow Show which pulls in 11 million viewers each year! One word to describe it “glamorous.”  The show will air November 30 on CBS and in 185 other countries.

Don’t forget to tune into a night filled with angels! Also a time to feel inspired and get our bodies in top shape? Right before we dig into our stuffing filled turkeys and pumpkin pies!

Well, we know Heidi announced she was pregnant this spring, Adriana announced she was pregnant this spring and now, from the NY Post:

KAROLINA Kurkova, the Czech supermodel often seen in the front row at Knicks games, is six months pregnant. The father is her fiancé, Archie Drury, a former Marine and Scientologist who made the documentary “Voices of Iraq.” A rep at DNA Models said, “The couple have been together for a little over a year. This is the first child for both.”

So that means THREE big models are going to be out of commission for the Victoria’s Secret fashion shows this fall: Heidi, Adriana and Karolina. I wonder what the people in charge of the models think about that! They probably aren’t wanting to throw a baby shower just yet…

Remember when we said Adriana had eloped and speculated over why?  Wellllll, I think we found it.  Adriana isn’t pregnant, but the pair who are both NOT US citizens rushed to get a license and elope in the US.  Was it because hubby had committed a crime or he knew he was going to be accused of that crime way back when?  His lawyer tells Fox News:

The alleged incident took place on February 11, when Jaric’s team, the Memphis Grizzlies, was in Philadelphia to play the 76ers.

“Persons in Marko’s position are often the target of malicious statements and it is not unusual for the police to be asked to investigate,” the statement from attorney Bruce L. Castor, Jr. on behalf of Jaric said. “However, these allegations were proved to be completely false, and while Marko is extremely unsettled by these accusations, he is happy that the law enforcement authorities have cleared him of any criminal conduct and the issue can now be put to rest.”

Adriana and Marko swapped vows only three days later.  Do you suspect the woman was hired to strip for a bachelor party?  Was she his last hurrah and it bit him in the ass?  There’s more to this story we don’t know about yet!

The pair never talked about a wedding or setting a date.  So why did they hurry up and get a civil ceremony, in the US, which is not either one of their native countries?  From People Magazine:

Adriana Lima, a Brazilian supermodel and a Victoria’s Secret Angel, eloped with NBA star Marko Jaric on Feb. 14 in Jackson Hole, Wyo., in a small, private civil ceremony, PEOPLE confirms exclusively.

“We are so excited about our future together,” says Lima. “And we are really looking forward to a big romantic wedding this summer with all of our friends and family.”

The pair, who want their next wedding celebration in Brazil or Jaric’s native Serbia, met in 2006 and were engaged last June on Lima’s 27th birthday.

Hmmmmmm.  Why the sudden civil ceremony in the US then?  Put her on the baby bump watch.  Maybe Adriana’s envious of her pal Alessandra Ambrosio’s baby?  What do you think?

Adriana filmed her spot this week and was caught wearing a beautiful, low cut gown.  What will her role on the show be?  Lindsay Lohan’s guest appearances seem to be over, so those two won’t collide on the show.  That might be an interesting cat fight!

Adriana was recently engaged and I must say, it suits her.  She seems so happy everytime she is photographed.  Makes me almost want to hate her!

Adriana Lima needs no introduction. Lima has really been in the spotlight  more so than ever for Victoria’s Secret promos over the months especially while her teammate,  Alessandra Ambrosio was pregnant and now just delivered a baby girl. I mean you can’t really have a pregnant angel promoting your lingeries unless you are selling maternity wear, right? 

As for Doutzen Kroes, she’s been featured in Victoria’s Secret catalogs and fashion shows. Although, there’s no confirmation that she’s been contracted as a Victoria’s Secret angel but rumor has it that it’s definitely in the cards. Kroes is another supermodel often seen in huge magazine publications such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Time magazine. As of April, 2008, she has an estimated income of $6 million in the past 12 months and she’s number five on the Forbes’ list of World’s top 15 top-earning supermodels.

The gorgeous Victoria’s Secret Angel is engaged to her NBA, Serbian basketball pro. The couple has been dating for less than a year and apparently he proposed last month on her birthday and she said yes! My memory goes Adriana has said that she’s a virgin and she plans on being one until her wedding day. Hmmm. That’s her story, do you believe it? They look happy together and we’re happy for them!

When she was six months old, her father walked out on her and her mother. Adriana has since had an estranged relationship with her father, although recently she has been making attempts to reconcile with him. According celebrity news, the gorgeous model is of African, Native South American and Swiss descent.

Lima was first discovered while shopping at a local mall at the age of 13. At the age of 15, she entered and finished in first place in Brazil’s Ford Supermodel of the World Search. She subsequently entered the 1996 Ford Supermodel of the World contest and finished in second place. Three years later, she moved to New York City, and signed with Elite Model Management. Lima’s modeling portfolio began to expand exponentially, appearing in numerous international editions of Vogue and Marie Claire. As for fashion shows, she has walked the catwalks for many top designers namely Vera Wang, Christian Lacroix, Emanuel Ungaro, Giorgio Armani, Fendi, Ralph Lauren, Valentino, among others.

Adriana had her 27th birthday last night.  Her boyfriend is an NBA basketball player for the Minnesota Timberwolves, Marko Jaric.  What did he buy her for a birthday gift?  An engagement ring.  Probably a big, fat, honking diamond.  We’ll look for details of that later today, but until then, Jaric’s rep confirmed to People they were indeed engaged.  Congratulations to the happy couple!

As for her love life, she’s dated Lenny Kravitz and New York Yankees’ Derek Jeter. Boy, hasn’t he dated almost every woman in La La Land? Including Jessica Alba. She is currently dating Serbian basketball player Marko Jarić of the NBA Minnesota Timberwolves. He’s 6 feet 6! Guess she likes them tall!
