The “30 Rock” actor was thrown off his American Airlines flight two days ago for refusing to turn off his iPhone during a particularly challenging game of ‘Words With Friends,’ despite being asked to do so by a flight attendant. Baldwin immediately went on the offensive on Twitter, comparing the airlines’ flight attendants to “retired Catholic school gym teachers from the 1950′s,” and vowing never to fly American again…

Not to be outdone, American Airlines aired their side of the story on their Facebook page, alleging, without naming names, that “this passenger” was at fault for failing to turn off his cellphone as per FAA regulations.

“Since an extremely vocal customer has publicly identified himself as being removed from an American Airlines flight on Tuesday, Dec. 6, we have elected to provide the actual facts of the matter…”

Their Facebook status post began,

“When the door is closed for departure and the seat belt light is turned on, all cell phones and electronic devices must be turned off for taxi-out and take-off. This passenger declined to turn off his cell phone when asked to do so at the appropriate time. The passenger ultimately stood up (with the seat belt light still on for departure) and took his phone into the plane’s lavatory.”

Don’t you just love it the way they refrain from naming names in case Alec Baldwin ups and decides to sue them for libel?

“He slammed the lavatory door so hard, the cockpit crew heard it and became alarmed, even with the cockpit door closed and locked. They immediately contacted the cabin crew to check on the situation.”

the post continued.

“The passenger was extremely rude to the crew, calling them inappropriate names and using offensive language. Given the facts above, the passenger was removed from the flight and denied boarding.”

It seems Alec Baldwin went bazonkers and lost his cool, all for the love of an iPhone game app…or was it because he felt his star power gave him the privilege to go all P. Diddy on the flight crew?

This Facebook post from American Airlines currently has 5,900 likes, 2,100 comments, and 1,200 shares. Hot stuff, this.

As of press time, Alec Baldwin has apologized to the passengers of the flight he was thrown off of, which included boxer Oscar de la Hoya, but he has steadfastly refused to apologize to American Airlines. In a fit of pique, he even had a Twitter meltdown and deactivated his account.

Tsk, tsk.

Talk about extreme addiction. Celebrity gossip websites found out the “30 Rock” actor had some words with a flight attendant at an American Airlines flight bound for New York over turning off his mobile device before take-off, and since Baldwin was in the middle of a particularly challenging word game, he adamantly refused to do so.

Well, at least he wasn’t booted out for wearing sagging pants, or for pissing on the plane aisle. And thank Apple it wasn’t one of those inane games like “Angry Birds.” We’d rather be thrown off a plane for our addiction to a cerebral game app than for anything else…unless the TSA discovered a bomb on our iPhone, that is.

“He loves ‘Words with Friends’ so much that he was willing to leave a plane for it,”

Baldwin‘s spokesperson was later quoted as saying.

However, the debonaire actor just wasn’t  content to be docile about the whole situation, game addiction or no game addiction.

“Flight attendant on American reamed me out 4 playing WORDS W FRIENDS while we sat at the gate, not moving.”

Baldwin tweeted three hours ago.

“But, oddly, 30 Rock plays inflight on American.”

he mocked.

“Last flight w American.”

Baldwin vowed in disgust.

“Where retired Catholic school gym teachers from the 1950′s find jobs as flight attendants.”

Oh, well. When you love your ‘Words with Friends,’ you really love your ‘Words with Friends’. And no airline in the world who doesn’t love it with you will enjoy your patronage.

Sorry, American Airlines, but you’ll never see Alec Baldwin on your flight roster again…

Current entertainment news knows 53-year-old Baldwin‘s been having trouble with his weight for the last couple of years and has noticed the actor looking a lot more healthy lately. He’s even lost some of his paunchy mass.

We, of course, credit it to a much younger, more active girlfriend who probably puts him through his yoga paces every morning, then through a much more strenuous kind of physical activity at night.

One sign the actor is on cloud nine with his present relationship? He mentioned Thomas’ name and referred to her as “my girlfriend” about 20 times during an appearance on David Letterman. Baldwin, who used to be married to actress Kim Basinger, says he’s known Thomas  “on a spiritual level” for many years, and couldn’t wait to:

“travel the world with my girlfriend.”

We’re happy for you, Alec. At least you didn’t get yourself a racy, red sports car, the value of which can depreciate over time. A young girlfriend who’ll be able to do CPR and physical therapy, however…that’s a much better investment for your future as a senior citizen.

Alec stepped onto the red carpet at the Tony Awards with 28-year old Hilaria Thomas, his much younger—25-years younger, to be exact—girlfriend. The new couple went public with their relationship just a month ago, and they were seen attending a few high profile events together.

Though Alec is more than two decades Hilaria’s senior, their age gap is nothing compared to the great divide between Al and his own younger ladylove.

Al was also spotted on the red carpet with his live-in girlfriend, 31-year old Argentinean actress Lucila Sola. The couple—who are separated by a 40-year age gap—has been together since April of last year, although celebrity news reports say that they have since broken up.

Despite these claims, Al and Lucila seemed very much a couple as they graced the event, posing for photographs and holding hands. Current reports tell us that they are even living together in LA, with Lucila‘s daughter, Camila.

So there you have it. Two aging Hollywood men, showing off girls who are both young enough to be their daughters—or even granddaughter, in Al’s case. Hmmm.

One source says Alec and Ireland were fighting and he threatened to take some pills. Another source claims it was only a misunderstanding. But, if it was only a misunderstanding, why would an ambulance take you in? From the NY Times:

The official said Baldwin and his young daughter had argued and she told 911 he had threatened to take pills.

Baldwin’s publicist issued a statement calling it ”a misunderstanding on one person’s part.” The statement said Baldwin was ”quickly released,” is ”completely fine and will be at work” on Thursday.

There’s another side, from E! Online:

A calm 911 call was reportedly made from the actor’s Central Park West apartment claiming the 51-year-old was unresponsive. The caller was believed to be his 14-year-old daughter Ireland.

If your dad was unresponsive, would you be calm? Sounds like she was getting back at him for something! And from the pictures, she looks like she could be a brat!  I bet Kim Basinger will let the truth out soon.

Baldwin became famous for his role in the TV soap opera Knots Landing, as Joshua Rush. He was a cast member for two seasons 6 and 7 before his character was killed off the show. Knots Landing was a hit series from 1979 to 1993.

He has played supporting and lead roles in many successful films such as Beetlejuice (1988), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Thomas and the Magic Railroad (2000), Final Fantasy The Spirits Within (2001) , The Aviator (2004) and The Departed (2006). His performance in the 2003 film The Cooler earned him a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Since 2006, Alec has starred as Jack Donaghy on the NBC sitcom 30 Rock. He has received many awards including Emmy Awards, Golden Globe Awards, and Screen Actors Guild Awards. He is the oldest of the Baldwin brothers, all of them are famous actors working in Hollywood.

During a recent photo shoot on the set, the notoriously difficult actor sniped to the photographer, “Get ready to do a lot of airbrushing.” Tina, who has a childhood scar on her left cheek, fired back, “Something wrong with my face?” Alec upped the ante by saying it’s her entire body that’s the problem. “Tina shot back that this was coming from a guy with a double chin who thinks Sarah Palin is hot,” says a set source. “Alec was steamed about it the rest of the day and had words with Tina about it later.”

Hm. I dunno. It’s hard to believe either actor would take each other that seriously. But the sources go on to elaborate that Tina is feeling more confident in her role as show creator, writer, and star and isn’t putting up with Alec‘s primadonna behavior.

Alec tells the NY Daily News this about the smooch:

“It was painful,” Baldwin sighed. “I mean, every man who’s had to make out with her in TV and movies — I don’t know how they do it.”

I’m thinking he was really being sarcastic here.  Hopefully.  Who wouldn’t want to kiss her?  It’s probably intimidating like crazy, wouldn’t ya think?

Although he referred to her as “beautiful” and perfectly lovely (blah, blah, PR-speak) he also let it slip he’d never want her “hand on the nuclear button.”

As it turns out, the Democratic Baldwin brother (Alec) is on Sarah Palin’s short list for conversion to the dark right side.

Alec’s brother Stephen is an ardent conservative who supposedly goes on nature hikes and sips berry tea with Palin for fun. She said to him:

I’ve been talking to your brother Stephen and we’ve been chatting, trying to figure out how to knock some sense into you.’”

Uh huh. You better pray for some other-worldly Midas Touch, lady. The Fey-Baldwin juggernaut is as blue as the sky above.
