Andy has been on Saturday Night Live since September of 2005 and is thrilled to be the host of the MTV movie awards this May, who won high brow nods for his comedy when he won a Creative Arts Emmy for his digital short, “D–k in a Box,” costarring Justin Timberlake.

Andy told Usmagazine.com:

“I’m super excited to host the movie awards,” Samberg said in a statement released to Usmagazine.com. “I grew up watching the show and a lot of the past hosts are heroes of mine. Plus my friends and I were writers for the show prior to working at SNL, so it will be a sweet and satisfying homecoming. I can’t wait to act really important…”

We’re OK with this. Hopefully Justin Timberlake will make a cameo for a skit or two.

Mark Wahlberg showed up in the skit with Sarah Palin, Lorne Michaels and Alec Baldwin.  He asked where Andy Samberg’s room was.  Ha!  Like he was going to go and beat the tar out of him.  On live TV.  Funny.  SNL finally did something right…too bad their other skits for the night were boring. 

Did you watch it?  Were you expecting Mark to show up?  Having a confrontation between the two would have been better than just showing a donkey’s…butt.

The rough around the edges Boston actor whipped out some if his street cred on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night when he threatened to kick Andy Samberg’s ass. Mark got his panties in a twist due to a Saturday Night Live sketch where Andy impersonates Mark as a goombah-ish dolt talking to animals. (The impersonation was actually kind of brilliant)

Oh, but at the end of the day they’re all shameless media whores. This faux anger is all for show. Rumors are swirling that this Saturday Mark will make a surprise guest appearance on SNL to set the record straight.
