Mariah Carey wanted to sit by Michelle Obama at President Obama’s inauguration on Tuesday. Ha!  Actually, she didn’t want to, she thought she actually was going to sit next to the Obama family.  That takes nerve!  Guess what she did next!

Mariah did perform at the Neighborhood ball for the Obama’s, but not the inauguration itself.  That was reserved for the Queen Diva, Aretha Franklin.  From the New York Post:

Gotta love Aretha Franklin who sang at Obama’s inaguaration and told someone to “shut up” while in mid-sing of “Let Freedom Ring”. Ha! It was such a beautiful moment. Of course, no clue as to who Aretha was talking to and what went down on the other side of the camera, but her big bow headband and sassy attitude put her as the most divalicious of the divas out there.
