After their divorce news hitting celebrity gossip websites almost a year ago, going to couples therapy and spending holidays together with their children, looks like Arnold Schwarzenneger and Maria Shriver certainly aren’t reconciling. Looks like Maria no longer cares about going against her religious beliefs or Arnold about losing his wife forever.

We think of the kids, whom they could damage forever by choosing to create separate lives… But according to sources close to the former governor of California, they already are leading very distant lives.

Much to Arnold‘s and their kids’ displeasure, TMZ has reported that Maria‘s friends have “done everything to poison the waters,” pushing his estranged wife to stay further away from the man who once cheated on her. In addition, Arnold has participated in arranging a financial settlement with Maria and has, in fact, gotten “very close” to resolving it.

We wonder how they’re going to keep their divorce as painless as possible for the kids, as it’s one thing for spectators to accept a looming celebrity divorce and another for their own children…

Hollywood news reported over the weekend that the former governator and his estranged Kennedy heiress wife were spotted wearing what was presumed to be their wedding rings on two separate occasions. Added to the fact they spent the holidays as a family with their children (the legitimate children, that is), it looked like things were going all hunky-dory for a possible permanent reunion between the divorcing spouses…

Not.

According to a source, Maria wasn’t wearing her wedding ring at all.

“The reports of a reconciliation are not true,”

a source revealed to People Magazine.

Turns out the bling on Maria‘s finger belonged to her late mother, Eunice Shriver, whose old engagement ring Maria inherited upon her mother’s deathbed in August 2009. Maria‘s been wearing it ever since.

So the divorce is moving right on track, but…

“Arnold and Maria will always come together when it comes to supporting and loving their children,”

a family insider has said.

So is this more proof that they really are getting back together? As previously reported by celebrity gossip websites, Maria has been having second thoughts about divorcing love child-making Arnie because of her religious beliefs against the institution of divorce… and also because her philandering husband has been wooing her back with grand gestures and lavish gifts.

And then, the plot thickens…

Arnold, who hasn’t been seen wearing his wedding ring—or any ring, really—for months, was recently photographed wearing what looked like a wedding ring. A few days later, his estranged wife Maria was photographed wearing what also looked like a wedding ring as she was out walking her dog.

Is it a coincidence that these two estranged lovers decided to wear rings on their wedding fingers a few days apart from each other?

We think not.

After all, word is Maria has been having second thoughts about divorcing Arnold. Is this the first step to reconciliation?

Arnold and Maria reportedly spent Christmas Eve on Saturday by attending mass with the family. A source tells Us Weekly:

“They were serious but seemed like one family unit… The kids were between them most of the time, but Arnold and Maria definitely seemed civil and would talk once in a while. They hugged the pastor at the end of the service and seemed warm and happy.”

They probably wanted to give their children, Katherine, 22, Christina, 20, Patrick, 18, and Christopher, 14, a sense of normalcy during the holidays.

But was it just for the kids?

Despite the fact that Arnold cheated on her and fathered a child out of wedlock with their former housekeeper (which he kept from her for over a decade), Maria is reportedly thinking of halting their divorce proceedings.

According to TMZ, Maria is torn about her decision to divorce her philandering husband because of her religious beliefs. She reportedly does not believe in divorce.

So why doesn’t she file for annulment instead?

Well, it’s a little more complicated than that… Maria isn’t just having second thoughts because of religion—she’s also having them because Arnold has been doing everything he can to win her back. The former Governor of California is reportedly bludgeoning her with sweetness and grand gestures, as well as lavish “I’m sorry” gifts.

With all that (and the fact that she probably still loves him) no wonder Maria is wavering in her decision to divorce Arnie.

Well, that’s Arnold for you! He’s always done his own stunts, even when he was at the peak of his film career—although it wasn’t exactly by choice at first, since it is pretty darn hard to find a body double for a former professional bodybuilder. Unfortunately, Arnie’s reflexes aren’t what they used to be, which is probably why he ended up cracking his head open a few weeks ago while filming “The Last Stand” in New Mexico.

After talking with several sources on the set of Arnold’s new movie, TMZ reports:

“[Arnold] has politely declined the producers’ offer to put stuntmen in the dangerous scenes, because he thinks it’s just more believable for him to do it himself.”

Awesome… hopefully we get to see some classic Schwarzenegger action in this movie.

Man, and we always thought the Terminator was indestructible!

Arnold posted the above photo on his Twitter account and wrote:

“Got a little banged up on set today. Thanks to the medical staff who got me back in action an hour later!”

Apparently, the former Governer of California got hurt while filming “The Last Stand,” which they are currently shooting in New Mexico. This film is his first since his acting comeback, and in it he plays Sheriff Owens, a dishonored Los Angeles policeman.

As for how he got the head wound, Arnold didn’t say.

Using the former governator’s name probably gave George Clooney the ultimate kick in pseudo fame, back when he  simply used to be a mainstay in “E/R” on television. Of course, it probably spawned the prankster in his personality that he carries with him to this day.

“The funny thing is, when you stay in a hotel, no matter what alias you use, all of the people at the hotel have to use that name. So I would always go as Arnold Schwarzenegger. And then they (hotel staff) would go, ‘Right away Mr. Schwarzenegger!’”

Clooney relates.

“And it made me laugh. (But) I’ve had to change that!”

He would have had to, if he didn’t want to be raided by the Secret Service, the CIA, and a SWAT team or two. Impersonating a U.S. politician is a crime worthy of capital punishment…at least in Arnold‘s book.

Entertainment news learned Patrick was pulled over driving Arnold‘s 2009 black Audi after clocked going 54 mph in a 35mph zone. He received a citation – no repeat offender, this Patrick – and sent on his way.

Is Patrick Schwarzenegger dogging the footsteps of his dad who got a parking ticket earlier this year for overstaying in a 5-minute passenger loading zone.

Let’s just hope Patrick learns his lesson after receiving the citation and sins no more. We’d hate to hear the aspiring model gaining the reputation of a Lothario just like good ol’ dad…

Maria Shriver and Arnold have issued a statement saying that “while it has been a very scary week, Christopher is surrounded by his family and friends. He is a brave voy and is expected to make a full recovery.” They went on to thank the paramedics, lifeguards and medical staff who helped their son, and went on to “thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers and ask for respect and privacy for Christopher and our family.”

His mother Maria confirms that Christopher was boogie boarding on Sunday, when something went wrong and he suffered a collapsed lung, broken bones and broken ribs from the mishap. His mom was with him on the beach.

Our prayers are with the young boy and his family. Get well real soon, Christopher.

What?!

He cheats on her by fathering a child with the maid, a piece of news he kept silent for 13 years, and has allegedly gone from one extra-marital affair to the next….and now he won’t pay support?

We’d understand if he refused to pay Maria‘s legal fees like she’s asking, but to cheat her out of spousal support when he was the cause of the whole divorce in the first place is ridiculous.

Maria should totally seek sole custody of minor children Patrick, 17 and Christopher, 13. Who would want to live with a father like that?

Who knows? Arnold may be the latest celebrity scumbag cheater — joining the likes of famous cheaters Jesse James and Tiger Woods—but he might still get his fans to watch his movie, if only for the sheer fascination of seeing whether or not he’s still got it.

According to the latest Hollywood news, Arnold will be playing a sheriff in ‘The Last Stand’—a western movie that begins shooting in September of this year.

Why so soon? Isn’t he still going through the messy affair of getting a divorce?

Arnold sure doesn’t waste any time does he?

He and Baena have reportedly spoken several times over the phone, including the very night the scandal broke open and tore Arnold‘s legitimate family apart. And they’re supposedly feeling their way around the possibility of a reunion.

Hollywood gossip news heard word Maria‘s just bought a $10 million house less than 5 miles away so she could be near her children. Wait…does this mean the kids will be living with their Lothario daddy? *cringe*

No one knows what each will be getting from the 50/50 split of their community property based on California law. How would you split $400 million between you?

According to celebrity gossip websites Arnold is worth an estimated $300 million while Maria tops the money scale at $100 million. Together, they will be “amicably” splitting assets in houses, furniture, jewelry, and other property without having to go to trial, thereby denying us morbidly fascinated mortals a closer look at the innards of their divorce proceedings.

Also, we will never know what the final figure and settlement will be, because these two are keeping it under close wraps. Darn.

And so ends the Arnold-Maria saga – not with a bang but with a whimper…

Maria is taking Arnold to the cleaners as expected..

Shriver is asking for spousal support and wants the judge to deny Arnold the right to ask for support for himself though it’s highly unlikely he would.

Shriver is asking for joint custody of their minor children, 17-year-old “Patrick Arnold Shriver Schwarzenegger” and 13-year-old “Christopher Sargent Shriver Schwarzenegger.”

Shriver is asking Arnold to pay the attorneys’ fees of both parties.

Oh here comes the juicy part, according to the documents, the property accumulated during the marriage will be divided at a later date. They have been married for 25 years! Most of us know that without a prenup is even-steven 50/50. And sources tell TMZ that there is no prenup.. so all of Arnold and Maria‘s earnings over the past quarter century will be divided 50/50.

Sources are saying that the ex-couple are on speaking terms and Arnold knew beforehand that Maria was filing for divorce.

Arnold’s baby mama, Mildred “Patty” Baena, broke her silence for the first time since the public got wind of her affair. She talked to U.K.’s Hello magazine about how Maria found out about the scandal, and how her son (Arnold’s son, too) found out who his real father was.

Mildred—or Patty, as she likes to be called—said that Maria started to harbor suspicions after she heard whispers in the house that Arnold was in fact the father of Patty’s son. She shares:

“She [Maria] would say things like, ‘I’m here if you need to talk.’ I sensed something was up. I have so much love and respect for Maria.”

Eventually, Maria confronted her about the issue. Patty says:

“She was so strong. She cried with me and told me to get off my knees. We held each other and I told her it wasn’t Arnie’s fault, that it takes two.”

As for her son, 13-year old Joseph, she says that her mother—the boy’s maternal grandmother—was the one who broke the news to him. The boy’s reaction:

“Cool.”

Patty admits that she wasn’t sure if Arnold was the father at first. However, as the boy grew, he began to look more and more like the ‘Terminator’ star. Patty shares:

“It was as Joseph grew and I started to see the resemblance that I wondered — but It became more apparent as time went on… I knew Arnold was the father, and maybe as Joseph got older and began to look like him, [Arnold] wondered. But he never said anything to me.”

Patty has become a constant figure in the celebrity news ever since people found out about her affair with Arnold, and it has definitely made her and her family’s life harder—her son even had to skip his graduation because of all the media craziness surrounding them. However, she doesn’t seem to blame her ex-employer (and lover) for any of it. She says:

“He’s a good man and I know he’s suffering too. He loves Maria. I hope with time they work things out.”

Is she for real?

Arnold’s baby mama pulled her son out of school last month immediately after the story hit celebrity gossip websites and magazines. According to sources, this was due in large part to the fact that photographers began hanging around her son’s school, hoping to get photos of Arnold’s illegitimate son.

The graduation took place last Friday, and despite the fact that Arnold’s son’s name was on the program, he was not present at the ceremony.

TMZ has learned that Patty‘s family, whose lives have been turned upside down since the news of Arnold‘s love child broke out, desperately wants their lives to go back to the way it used to be.

Poor kid. Hope this all blows over so he can go back to having a normal life—none of this is his fault, after all.

Hollywood gossip news supposed they would have been a good match then, with 6-foot-tall Amazonian Brigitte a perfect foil for “Conan” and his tireless “sword”. As the Danish actress tells it:

“Since we both knew that wouldn’t last beyond the movie, we didn’t hold back. We wanted to try everything and so we did. There were no restrictions, no promises, nothing, and it was a great time in my life.”

Apparently, Arnold never spoke of his Kennedy heiress fiancee, not even with Brigitte:

“How serious it was with her, I don’t know. He never spoke about her — and the way he was living his life with me, I felt I was the only one.

Brigitte further says:

“Maybe I wouldn’t have got into it if he said ‘I’m going to marry Maria and this is dead serious,’ but he didn’t, and our affair carried on.”

Why are we not surprised. Are you?

Sandra Bernhard, who Hollywood news learned last worked in 2009, has this to say about the beleaguered former governator:

“In the 70s when I moved to LA I was on the beach by Gold’s Gym. I was young, skinny as a stick, staring at the ocean, dreaming of the future, and Arnold came up to me, and he was hitting one me!  I don’t date Germans so nothing happened.”

Hey, Sandra, Arnie‘s Austrian, not German. If you’re hopping on the “Arnold had sex with me and fathered my lovechild hit on me” bandwagon, the least you can do is get your facts straight.

At least Sandra‘s staying true to her 70′s comedy routine, which is to “bitterly critique celebrity culture and political figures,” and horny Arnie just happens to be both.

So, who’s next? Whoopi Goldberg?
