President Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize. The commitee justified their choice by saying Obama’s diplomacy has brought the world together (metopharically) and he has been steadfast on his efforts to cut down on nuclear weapons. Reactions were mixed when the results were announced this morning. Many think Obama hasn’t done enough to earn such coveted prize.

According Former Polish President Lech Walesa, who won the prize in 1983 said (via The Huffington Post):

Barack and Michelle Obama released their tax returns. With the Obama administration’s middle-class tax cuts, the duo felt it was fair to allow the public to know exactly how much the earn. Barack and Michelle Obama raked in an impressive $2.65 million in 2008. Although, usmagazine.com is quick to point out that most of that cash came from Barack’s books, Dreams From My Father and The Audacity of Hope.

The Obama’s give Queen Elizabeth an Ipod. Hmmm.  Are you scratching your head as to why President Barack Obama gave Queen Elizabeth II an Ipod when they met for tea yesterday?  Apparently the Queen is not so techno savvy….or maybe Prince William and Prince Harry never bought her one.

President Obama showed up for Jay Leno’s show and was actually funny. Even with the economy in the tank, the President and Jay cracked some jokes, talked about jailing people and made fun of the Special Olympics.

The President talked about the economy and ways that it would, could and shoulda been fixed.  Did anybody believe him?  And then Jay mentioned the crooks who took handouts and paid bonuses should do jail time.  That got real applause.  Then Obama joked about his bowling game and said even the Special Olympics wouldn’t take him.  Ouch.  From Swamp Politics:

Barack Obama was forced to acknowledge Jessica Simpson’s weight controversy during an interview with Matt Lauer. Apparently the Obama’s shared a cover of US Weekly with Jessica Simpson where the editors cropped out Obama’s face to make room for Jessica in those infamous high-waisted jeans and leopard print belt, with the words “Weight Battle”. When Matt Lauer pointed this out, Obama jokingly admitted it was a little “hurtful.” (Watch video below)

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama danced to “At Last” at the Neighborhood Ball. The song was chosen by the President himself;  an Etta James Classic was sung by Beyonce. The President and the First Lady looked great. Obama in white bow tie and The First Lady, Michelle in a shimmering white, one-shouldered gown made by 26-year-old designer Jason Wu.
