To a rapturous reception, the designer himself then took to the runway to present the outspoken singer with a bouquet of pink roses and a glass of champagne.

The ‘Standing in the Way of Control’ hitmaker is currently preparing for the launch of her second collection for UK plus-size retailer Evans.

Speaking about the new line, an Evans spokesperson recently said: “It will be Victorian mixed with 80s punk, through to 40s vintage with a noughties modern edge.”

Beth has previously spoken about the importance of larger women being creative with clothes in order to flatter their body shape.

She has said: “I don’t understand all these women who say they feel betrayed by fashion. A piece of clothing can’t talk – it can’t tell you that you can’t have it – so really, you’re just telling yourself that.

“You make yourself the victim, because if you want clothes that bad, then make them yourself. You have to get creative if you’re fat. I’m really good at turning a belt into a necklace, and I can always find a nice pair of earrings.”

Ditto was nominated for Sexiest Woman Of The Year at the NME Awards 2007 where she performed the Heaven 17 song “Temptation” with former Pulp frontman, Jarvis Cocker, although she lost out on the award to Kate Moss. Oh well, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder they say!

“Kate is amazing. I spent one night talking to her and she just said the most amazing things about bodies. At first I didn’t think I was going to like her, but she just turned up to one of our shows and said, ‘Do you know what I hate Beth? I hate it when people tell my big girlfriends, ‘You have a beautiful face…’ I mean, that’s a really radical concept,” she said.

Talking about seeing Ditto at a Gossip gig she told Elle magazine: ‘When she was performing she started taking all her clothes off. I stood there watching her strip, thinking, ‘Oh my God, that woman is so sexy.’

She has the most amazing body.’ She added she wishes she ‘had a body like [Italian actress] Monica Bellucci, which is just so womanly, female and curvy’.

Since November, Knightley has stopped working. ‘I had to,’ she says.

‘I’d got to a body breakdown. I felt I had permanent jet lag and couldn’t mentally or physically adjust. I had a flat I’d bought but never lived in, friends I loved but never got to see. I just wanted to have a bit of a normal life.’

And at the ripe old age of 22, Keira Knightley is already sick of parties and thinking of quitting acting.

Knightley said: ‘acting was the only thing I ever wanted to do. But, to be honest, I can see myself in five years or whatever just giving the whole thing up.

I would. I’d just do something else and move on. ‘I now actively try to avoid parties. My idea of a good night is just hanging out with my mates.

‘I’ve become completely phobic about the red carpet because you just get so scrutinised and all I think is I’m going to be in the top 10 worst-dressed list tomorrow.

‘I wish I was Sienna Miller. When I talk to her I hope a bit of her party personality will rub off on me, but it never does.’

Knightley also admitted that, unlike some celebrities who don’t like to be seen wearing the same thing twice, she sometimes wears the same clothes for ‘three or four days straight’.

‘If I find something I feel comfortable in, I’ll just stick with it,’ Keira said.
