Lindsay visited Shamrock Tattoos in Los Angeles—her favorite tattoo parlor—earlier this week and had them tattoo Billy Joel’s lyrics on her. The tattoo says:

“Clear as a crystal, sharp as a knife I feel like I’m in the prime of my life”

The line comes from the song “I Go to Extremes,” which was released back in 1989… when Lindsay was only 3.

According to TMZ, the lyric from Billy Joel’s song is important to LiLo because:

“It represented where she is in life and everything she’s been through … it signifies that she’s focused.”

Sounds good, Linds! We hope your new tattoo helps you remember to stay on the right track.

He tells Rolling Stone:

“Billy’s a conundrum. We’ve had so many canceled tours because of illnesses and various other things, alcoholism. He’s going to hate me for this, but every time he goes to rehab they’ve been light. When I went to rehab, I had to clean the floors. He goes to rehab where they have TVs. I love you, Billy, and this is tough love. Billy, you have your demons and you’re not going to get rid of them at rehab light. You’ve got to be serious. People adore you, they love you and respect you. You should be able to do something better than what you’re doing now.”

Billy Joel – for the record – has dismissed these claims saying he loves Elton John too much to allow them to affect the friendship, but ultimately writes them off as “random.”

Alexa’s suicide brought out a lot of finger pointing. Some thought it was mom Christie Brinkley’s fault for another divorce, some thought it was das Billy Joel’s fault for his divorce. But it was not.  From the New York Daily News:

“My Mom & Dad are my role models and best friends,” Joel wrote. “What I was struggling with had nothing to do with them. The press was particularly harsh on my Mother, which is unthinkable to me, because she is the kindest woman I’ve ever known, and wouldn’t hurt a fly!!”

Alexa Joel never specifically mentioned reports that Brinkley’s ex, Peter Cook, blamed Joel’s angst on fights with her mega-watt mother over appearance and weight.

In a joint statement, Billy Joel and Christie declared those reports to be “false.”

And Joel now writes on her Facebook fan page: “Consider the source.” Cook and Brinkley’s marriage – her fourth – ended in bitter divorce last year.

Alexa is supposedly returning to school to take up psychology and help others who suffer from the depression she had. Good luck and way to make things positive Alexa!

“After nearly five years of marriage, Billy and Katie have decided to separate. This decision is the result of much thought and consideration. Billy and Katie remain caring friends, with admiration and respect for each other.”

Billy Joel has been on tour, and Katie has been seen around town acting like Yigal‘s girlfriend. Katie could be moving out  of hubby Billy Joel’s life and could you blame her?

Yigal is 36 and guess what? He even watches Katie’s dogs for her when she’s away.

The National Enquirer (via celebitchy) has broken the story, and claims a divorce may be on the horizon.

For nearly a year, Katie Lee has been spotted out with Yigal Azrouel, a a handsome 36 year-old Israeli-born designer. Initially, Billy thought it was great that she met a new friend, someone to occupy her time while he trudges through a long tour schedule. But now he’s become very concerned. She’s practically going around acting like Yigal’s girlfriend. It’s almost like she’s forgotten that she’s married to Billy Joel!” another source told The Enquirer. “Billy initially thought Yigal – being a male fashion designer – was gay. But when someone told him the guy was heterosexual and had women hanging all over him, Billy began to worry.”

What in the world does Billy expect? He married a woman young enough to be his daughter!

Billy has been on a busy, loooong world tour.  And since it was so long, Katie Lee found some company of her own.  In the arms of another man.  From the National Enquirer:

“Billy is furious,” a close source told The ENQUIRER. “His wife’s relationship with this guy is causing a split in his marriage.  “Initially, Billy thought it was great that she met a new friend, someone to occupy her time while he trudges through a long tour schedule. Ooops.  I guess when the cat is away….you know how that goes.  Do you think she really is just friends or has the age gap and the distance really caused a riff?
