Celebrity news heard Billy Ray Cyrus wholeheartedly approves and is happy they’re back together:

“He’s a great guy. He’s solid. He’s got great character.”

Billy Ray says of the “Hunger Games” star, who took time off from filming to be with Miley where she’s on the Australian leg of her tour.

What more can Miley ask? She’s got Daddy dearest’s endorsement, so it’s a win-win situation. Let’s just hope they both don’t scare Liam away.

However, it looks like Billy Ray and Tish might be mending their fences and marching forward in their marriage. He appears on The View this Friday and tells the ladies:

“I’ve dropped the divorce. I want to put my family back together … Things are the best they’ve ever been. I feel like I got my Miley back,” he added during Thursday’s taping. “I feel like we’re the daddy and daughter we were before Hannah Montana.”

It’s great the family has managed to overcome the evil that is Hannah Montana. Good luck to Miley, Billy Ray and her family.

Miley, understandably, was disappointed that her father would air her family’s dirty laundry in the media and now those close to the family say the mullet-haried one is just jealous. Aw, shucks.

“He was always upset he didn’t get as much as attention as Miley. This is his way of stealing the spotlight…Let’s face it: Hannah Montana revived his career as much as it made Miley’s.”

This “source” (Miley?) actually has a point. Did Billy Ray ever really do anything after Achey Breaky Heart?

To appease his daughter, Billy Ray backed out of the interview that was supposed to be this week. I wonder how The View ladies will react to the cancel?

“When Miley found out her father was scheduled to appear on ‘The View’ on Wednesday she went nuts,” a family friend tells me. “Only last week, Billy shot his mouth off in GQ, and now he planned to sit down with [Barbara and Whoopi] and talk more crap about his family. No way would Miley or her team let that happen.”

The GQ interview started off a firestorm after Billy Ray’s bombshell that he feels isolated from his daughter, blaming everyone but himself. “I’m scared for her,” he said in the interview. “She’s got a lot of people around her that’s putting her in a great deal of danger. I want to get her sheltered from the storm.”

Do you think it was a nice fatherly thing to do? Is Billy Ray just perpetuating the cycle of Miley getting her way and running the show?

Miley for her part feels he’s painted an inaccurate picture of her to the world and is embarrassed he’s made a private family issue so public.

“To say Miley is angry is an understatement,” a friend of the Disney star tells me. “She’s furious that her own flesh and blood would make a private matter so public. Who does he think he is, Michael Lohan? This isn’t what a father does,” my source says. “He never said a bad world about ‘Hannah Montana’ all those years it made millions for the family, and now that Miley has turned 18 and is making her own decisions, he does this. Unforgivable.”

Some of us most have seen Billy Ray in Hannah Montana on Disney Channel. In late 2005, he began to co-star in the Disney series Hannah Montana with his daughter Miley Cyrus. The series finale aired on January 16, 2011.

We can see things have taken a sharp downturn for daddy Miley. Last October he filed for divorce from his wife Tish, Miley’s mother. Miley was photographed smoking a bong celebrating her 18th birthday in November and to make things worse his record company just delayed his latest comeback.

Billy is really singing the blues.. and wishes Hannah Montana had never happened.

“Hannah Montana “destroyed my family….. I’d take it back in a second. For my family to be here and just be everybody okay, safe and sound and happy and normal, would have been fantastic.”

He said his family is being ruined by Satan. Billy blames himself partially for Miley’s bad behavior.

Come on Billy, don’t be too harsh on yourself. As a Christian myself, I believe Satan is always at work when given the chance. So bring the faith back and things will fall into the right places.

Oh and Billy wanted to set the record straight about Miley’s money: that to this day he has never made one commissioned dollar, or dime, off of his daughter. Hmm, we thought Billy has been riding on Miley since Hannah Montana.. guess we could have been wrong.

If there’s no Hannah Montana, there wouldn’t be Miley Cyrus? There’s no good.

Cyrus was on Woody Johnson‘s radio show – Woody and the Wake-Up Call – today and got ultra-miffed when asked about his crumbling marriage.

“Oh man. You know what bud? Woody Johnson. Woody Johnson. God bless America, God bless our troops. Woody Johnson, look at you.”

And that was the last thing he said. Cyrus then exited the interview and was heard telling people backstage that the question was rude and tactless.

The couple married in 1992 (around the time of Billy Ray‘s big country hit, Achey Breaky Heart) and soon after little Miley arrived. In addition to Miley, the couple have two other children.

While we don’t have any details at the moment. those close to the couple said it was “a long time coming” (whatever that means) and that the split is best for the Cyrus clan.

Their rep released this statement:

“As you can imagine, this is a very difficult time for our family,” the couple said in a statement, via E! News. “We are trying to work through some personal matters. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers.”

Hm – you think there was another woman in the picture? A cuckolding man?

“It scares me, that’s why. It feels contrived on so many levels. Unless you’re wearing a cowboy hat and cowboy boots and singing and whining about your girlfriend or boyfriend leaving you it’s not going to sell. I think that’s why my dad finally got out of it. You have to wear those cowboy boots and be sweet as pie. It makes me nervous, the politics of it all.

Ha! And there isn’t politics in pop music? She’s kidding herself. There’s are tons of artists who don’t wear boots or hats and are really popular, like Carrie Underwood, Taylor Swift, Rascal Flatts, Lady Antebellum. Did Miley just shoot her fan base?

He told Access Hollywood (via New York Daily News):

“I just think that Miley loves entertaining people. She loves singing [and] songwriting. I always tell her to love what you’re doing and stay focused for the love of the art and not worry so much about opinions. I give my kids a lot of freedom to make the art they wanna make, and make it in their own voice. I think it’s important.”

Alrighty then. We’re all for liberal parenting, bravo. And we also guess this gives Miley the green light for a Playboy cover. Only if she thinks it’s good for her art, of course.

Miley had a hit song and has been singing at concerts as herself.  Now, she wants to dump Disney and all things Montana and tour full time as herself.  And her dad agrees and is helping her to get fired!  He believes she can make a lot more money as a solo artist….and it’s all about the money, isn’t it?!?

They are both misbehaving so much, they just might get their wish.  But Disney doesn’t want to let go of their cash cow, even after her scandalous photo filled summer.   I think if Miley really wanted to get fired, she do something more dramatic and what other Hollywood teens seem to be doing, but I won’t mention it here…
