Do you love it or do you hate it?

A handful of female stars at the glamorous red carpet event decided to make a bold, dramatic statement by opting to wear vampy dark lipstick.

Leading the flock were actresses Camilla Belle, who paired her sexy, cleavage-baring gown with a glossy chocolate brown lipstick, and Kate Bosworth, who matched her ombre Prada mini dress with a dark plum shade.

Like Kate, “Gossip Girl” star Leighton Meester went with a dark plum lip color, which provided an unexpected contrast to her nude and gold Marchesa gown.

Jessica Alba, meanwhile, went with a wine red color, which went nicely with her gold dress, and newcomer Lana Del Rey, who wore a black cape and a sparkly silver gown, chose a striking burgundy lipstick.

Not quite as vampy as the others but still in the realm of “dark lips” were those of “Most Desirable Woman of 2012” Sofia Vergara and model Karlie Kloss, who both wore dark purplish pink lip colors.

We are really loving this makeup trend… it’s high time we got over the whole nude lip thing, right?

Let’s leave that to Kim Kardashian.

Camilla Belle always, always manages to look gorgeous on the red carpet, and the 2012 ‘Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations’ 2012 Costume Institute Gala in New York City was no exception.

Clad in Ralph Lauren from head-to-toe, the thick-browed Brazilian actress arrived in another dress by Ralph Lauren an ivory tulle beaded dress with a plunging neckline and sheer straps.

The “10,000 B.C.” actress accessorized with a silver clutch and vintage collection art deco jewels. Completing her shimmery number was a pair of champagne python sandal with bamboo heels.

Style and beauty-wise, Camilla finished her vintage, classic look with a sleek side bum, taupe shadows and a hot chocolate lip.

Camilla has definitely done it again.

The Brazilian beauty, who always manages to look impossibly stunning and chic on the red carpet, was dazzling in a figure-hugging gold and black Jason Wu number, which featured a sexy keyhole neckline and a stiff collar.

A gold, tasseled Jason Wu clutch, black Sergio Rossi pumps, and David Yurman jewels complemented Belle’s fierce look.

For her hair and makeup, Camilla went with a beehive updo and nude lips.

Camilla is such a chameleon on the red carpet… she can easily go from sweet and charming to edgy and seductive, and she always manages to look amazing.

On Friday, at the launch of The Andrea Bocelli Foundation, Camilla chose to go with edgy by donning a black sequined Oscar de la Renta dress adorned with delicate white tassels. The boat necked, sleeveless dress, which was cinched at the waist with a thin, black patent belt, showed off the actress’ slim, well-toned figure.

The “Push” star complemented her dress with black ankle strap Gucci heels, a black clutch, and silver hoop earrings.

As for hair and makeup, Camilla went with an elegant updo, precise eyeliner, and bright red lips.

Camilla looked like she came straight from the Roaring ‘20s in a flapper-inspired black, white and gold Gucci dress, gold Gucci strappy sandals, and a black clutch.

A half ponytail, white and taupe eye makeup with dramatic black eyeliner, and soft pink lips completed her look.

Camilla pulled out all the stops and showed off her enviable figure in a sparkly beaded gown by Ralph Lauren, which featured a sheer yoke and an intricately embellished train with silver beads and chiffon detail. She accessorized with a pair of diamond chandelier earrings, a diamond bracelet, and a thin black clutch.

She added even more sophistication and glamour to her look with a slicked-back updo, smokey gray eye makeup, and vampy fuschia lipstick.

Camilla oozed class in this look. She looked absolutely amazing.

Gorgeous Camilla and Jake do share something in common. Camilla dated Joe Jonas who also dated Taylor Swift! I say they try dating each other and see how it goes. These two would like great together, won’t they?

“Camilla is the one who ended it with Joe,” said our insider. “The relationship was becoming too serious for her. Joe is still really upset and keeps calling her and leaving messages. He even got [brother] Kevin [Jonas] to call her.” Maybe she didn’t call back because a spy saw Jonas — after dinner with Disney darling Brenda Song at Katsyta in Hollywood Sunday — “trying to sneak out separately.”

Joe Jonas very famously broke it off with Taylor Swift around the same time he and Camilla were first seen together, thus causing a rickashay of he said/she said throughout the tween-o-sphere.

“Yes, it’s true, they have broken up,” Brad Cafarelli, Belle‘s rep, confirmed Monday to People.com. “There is no third party involved and they care deeply about each other and will remain friends.”

So who’s up next? Ali Lohan? Dakota Fanning? Emma Watson?

Joe and Camilla have been dating for several months now, since he dumped Taylor Swift. Joe and Camilla have managed to keep a pretty low profile, an amazing feat for a Disney Tween star! From Contact Music:

The 19-year-old shares a Hollywood pad with his Jonas Brothers bandmates Kevin and Nick, but sources claim he’s desperate for more privacy and has secretly been scouting for a condominium in the city.

I can understand they want privacy. Everyone wants to move out of the frat house after the party atmosphere has worn off.  But what about Joe’s purity ring? Do you think his chastity is in trouble?

But Joe – who has vowed to remain chaste until he marries – will face opposition from his family.

Uh huh.  It smells like they tried to keep it hidden, just like the Taylor Swift relationship.  Why won’t he ever go public with a girlfriend??
