Hollywood news tells us that CAREY MULLIGAN is engaged to boyfriend MARCUS MUMFORD… after only five months of being together! Kind of jumping the gun there, aren’t they?
Or maybe not? Carey and Marcus were apparently pen pals back when they were kids, and even after not talking for so long, the two still managed to hit it off during their first reunion since they lost touch—and now they’re getting married!
Carey Mulligan beat out a slew of A-list actresses to play Daisy Buchanan in an upcoming Great Gatsby remake. News hit the web that Leonardo DiCaprio was tapped to play Jay Gatsby in the Baz Luhrmann-directed movie, but the jury was still out on who would play his famous love interest.
Among the possible candidates – Blake Lively, Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johannson and Kiera Knightley – Carey Mulligan came out tops, with Luhrmann announcing the news today.
Carey Mulligan was seen leaving with some shaggy looking guy! Carey seemingly embarrassed, was spotted leaving the Chateau Marmont hotel in West Hollywood with some new shaggy looking guy on Monday, October 25th.
After recently splitting from now ex-boyfriend Shia LaBeouf, reports have her hooking up with British actor, Tom Sturridge. Tom must have grown a beard and let himself go if he is the guy in the car with Carey. Or perhaps this is just another dude, a friend, a random dude. In Hollywood if you talked to an opposite sex, you are hooking up. If you talk to the same sex, you are gay. Perhaps I am exhausting but sometimes that’s quite true as well.
Shia LaBeouf and Carey Mulligan have officially called it quits. Shia and Carey first linked together after being spotted sucking faces in NYC in August 2009.
Since the split, Mulligan has been in L.A. shooting the indie film Drive, opposite Ryan Gosling. She’s been staying at the Best Western Hollywood Hills Hotel nearby.
Carey joked to People magazine at yesterday’s Hollywood Film Awards in L.A., “I don’t know why people are so down on the Best Western,” “They have the best sweet potato fries I’ve ever had.”
Carey Mulligan and Anna Kendrick get Oscar buzz. The two young stars are both up for an Oscar in supporting roles this season. This is proof that young Hollywood isn’t all going down the tubes!
