No wonder Elton John couldn’t help himself around him!

Indeed, Channing finally gets to show off his pre-Hollywood stripper dancing skills in his upcoming movie with Matthew McConaughey, “Magic Mike.”

And because it may be hard to imagine him actually strip teasing on the big screen (though many of you ladies have fantasized about it!) and we can’t possibly have too many videos with a topless Channing and Matthew, a new teaser clip shows the actor who made us cry in “The Vow” take his clothes off to the age-old stripper anthem, “It’s Raining Men.”

Thank goodness Channing used to be a real-life stripper… It makes this clip highly legit—albeit pretty G-rated than the real thing, we’re sure!

Get ready to drool ladies…

Looks like Sir Elton John did not regret it when he got a little too hands on with Channing Tatum‘s ass at the Revlon benefit concert at the Carnegie Hall in New York last night. After all, he had Channing‘s permission! Well, sort of. There wasn’t much asking needed from the “Step Up” actor as he, while was dressed as Liza Minnelli in “Cabaret,” gladly squatted on the happily married Elton‘s pinchers while performing on stage.

Channing sure stirred a lot of his female fans but as smoking hot as he is, we’re sure that he’s straight. And whether or not it was included in the choreography is not the question! Not even whether or not any of them enjoyed it… Oh please, make it stop.

We know he used to be a stripper in a past life, and it looked like he wanted to pay tribute to the profession that gave him his start in show business…

Hence, his nearly R-rated performance. We wished he could’ve taken off his pants too, but this is television. Let’s wait for “Magic Mike,” the upcoming stripper drama based on his experience dancing full Monty, and where we’ll probably see stuff that’d sear our eyeballs to kingdom come…

Channing performed his monologue and striptease in front of a studio of audience that included his supposed “former clients” played by SNL cast member, Kristen Wiig and Fred Armisen, who vehemently deny having known him from his previous life. Channing then took the audience by storm shaking his famous money-maker, and eventually causing Armisen to expire from a “heart attack” from too much excitement.

Rachel, who plays a woman who suffers from amnesia after getting into a car accident, got quite a surprise while she was filming a nude scene for “The Vow” with her onscreen husband, Channing. She tells Stella magazine:

“Channing got the props department to make a prosthetic, um, member.”

She adds:

“Literally a fake penis. I didn’t know what to do – I thought, ‘Is that the real deal?’ It was very realistic. It was ridiculous, the scale of it!”

So how did this happen? We’re guessing they were under the sheets, getting ready to fake “doing it”—which is always awkward, no matter how professional or experienced the actors are—when Channing suddenly pulled out his shockingly huge fake schlong… and a flabbergasted Rachel just sat there gaping at it.

No wonder Channing went to all those lengths to pull this joke on her. It sounds pretty funny… and definitely a good way to relieve some of the tension and awkwardness that comes with sex scenes.

Ouch. Did he have to act like a real “p*ssy” just because some mixed martial arts broad called him one?

Consider that Channing Tatum is over six feet tall, weighs 200-plus lbs. and has the body of a heavyweight UFC fighter, not to mention he’s previously worked as a former exotic dancer (oh, wait…that doesn’t count). And Gina Carano, while she’s been trained in boxing and Muay Thai, only comes up to his chin, and is a puny 143 lbs. Granted her mug  isn’t as daintily pretty as his wife’s, Jenna Dewan‘s, but did Channing Tatum really have to smash that bottle on her face?

Turns out he did. Because the script called for it.

Yup. Gina Carano and Channing Tatum are appearing in “Haywire” together, with Carano taking on the role of a freelance covert operative turned rogue, and Channing Tatum playing one of the elite specialists in her team who tries to bring her back to the U.S. after she’s been double-crossed in a mission to rescue a hostage in Barcelona.

“It comes time to actually have to smash a bottle on her face and she’s sitting across from me, and I’m like, ‘I can’t do this’.”

Channing Tatum admitted to Starpulse about scenes in their high action movie that also stars Michael Douglas, Antonio Banderas, Ewan McGregor, and Michael Fassbender, and is set for theater release on January 20.

“And then she called me the ‘p’ word and it became a lot easier… and then as soon as I did it I realized I had made a huge mistake ‘cos the look that came back in her eyes made me do a lot of calculating… I was like, ‘I’m probably faster than her; I can get to the door. I can totally, like, get out of here and hold the door shut for a little while.”

Whew. So we guess he really is a p*ssy. At least when it comes to hurting women. And no matter what Gina Carano looks like, our hearts have given an extra flutter at the knowledge that Channing Tatum is such a gentleman when it comes to these sorts of things.

The 31-year-old star of “Step Up” and “Dear John” famously began his showbiz career as an exotic dancer at a local Alabama nightclub, then as a dancer in Ricky Martin‘s “She Bangs” music video. After making his rather obscure mark as a male model, and as a hunky, if somewhat wooden, strong and silent-type action hero, Channing‘s appearing in a romantic drama with Rachel McAdams in “The Vow.” And what does Channing Tatum say about how far he’s come?

“You gotta do the “Dear Johns.” You gotta do “The Vow.” I’m conscious about why I did those parts, those movies.”

Channing admits in an exclusive interview with Details Magazine.

“I wanted to learn from Rachel on “The Vow”. I wanted to learn from Lasse Hallstrom on “Dear John” – he did “The Cider House Rules” and “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape.” I didn’t go to acting school, so my knowledge of story, filmmaking, and character comes from just being on set and doing it. I know I’m not the best actor, but I hope my characters are getting better.”

It’s rare you see that kind of humble self-acceptance in a Hollywood actor when most of them mostly believe and thrive on their own hype. Not Channing Tatum who knows where he’s at and where he’s going.

“I really don’t want to be in any more movies that I don’t produce.”

He says, referring to “Magic Mike,” a drama he’s producing, directed by Steven Soderbergh, and inspired by Tatum‘s own experiences as a male stripper.

“Unless it’s with one of the 10 directors that I really want to work with, I don’t have any interest in not being on the ground floor of creating it. But what I really want to do is direct.”

And maybe, just maybe, this hunk of burning ambition may just get to channel himself better behind the camera than in front of it…

Not to pan the movie before it even hits theaters, but do you think Channing Tatum‘s usually wooden performance (think “The Eagle”) can be offset by Rachel‘s effervescence? Not that we’re saying she’s all hyper in this movie. In fact, she seems downright maudlin as an amnesiac trying to remember she has a husband.

Let’s hope Channing can call forth some of his male stripper past to stir up some chemistry at the very least. Take a look at the trailer and tell us what you think…

The film will be directed by Steven Soderbergh and will follow Channing’s experiences back when he was a 19-year old stripper.

Channing’s former career became public knowledge just last summer. According to reports, the ‘G.I. Joe’ actor worked as a stripper in a club called Male Encounter back in 1999. It was revealed that he even had a stripper name—“Chan Crawford.”

Although we can’t really imagine Channing as an exotic dancer, we’re pretty sure he was good at it. After all, most of us have seen his dancing prowess in the first ‘Step Up’ movie.

Jessica Pressler, GQ’s writer who spent twenty-four hours deep in the California Desert with “Chan” armed with glow sticks, tequila, snacks, and Snuggies could tell you about his craziness..

Before camping out together (don’t worry his wife, Jenna Dewan is very much aware of it), the pair spent the night bar hopping through a tiny mining town, mingling with the locals, and touring the area’s abandoned bordellos.

During their outing, Channing talked about his stint as a stripper, “I’m not ashamed of it. I don’t regret one thing. I’m not a person who hides sh*t”; being type casted as a beefcake, “No one’s calling me for lawyer roles. I still have a lot to prove to myself.”

To him it’s important for him to do his own stunts: “I think people pay money to see the actor go through a wall. I want to be like, ‘Holy sh*t, Johnny Depp actually jumped off that building. That guy’s f*cking crazy. I want to be him.’”

Yes you’ve got to push your limits somehow otherwise you grow old and become very boring. Channing sounds like a load of fun, doesn’t he?

Channing married his co-star of Step Up, Jenna Dewan last summer. The two met on the set back in 2006. Darn!  You can still catch Channing though.. in the theaters, tomorrow his new flick “Dear John” hits theaters nationwide in the US.

“Dear John” is a romantic drama about a soldier who falls for a conservative college student while he’s home on leave. Channing plays the soldier who falls in love with Amanda Seyfried in the movie.

Tatum swears his penis is back in working order now, but whew, what was a close call.

“So he poured scalding water down my suit. And I was trying to pull the suit away from my body to somehow get away from the boiling water, and the more I pulled the suit away, the lower the water went. It just went straight down and pretty much burned the skin off the head of my dick…I had five guys looking at my shriveled, burned penis,” he says. “Looking back it was the most painful thing I have ever experienced in my life.”
Rest assured, “I’m good . . . now. Now my penis is fantastic! One hundred percent recovered. Put me back in the game, Coach.”

According to usmagazine.com, Tatum went by the name “Chan Crawford” and shook it at a club called Male Encounter in  1999. In fact, his moves were so “impressive” that he was spot and cast in Ricky Martin‘s “She Bangs” video.

“He was shy at first, but he really knew how to work the stage,” Steele (an old boss) tells Us, adding that Tatum lip-synched in the act and earned $50 a night (plus tips) during his year-long stint. “The women went crazy for him!”

Just goes to show dreams do come true. Stripper one day, famous actor the next. Who knows — maybe the White House is in “Chan”‘s future.

“I got crazy lucky. Like, sometimes I think I won the lottery or something. At times it feels like the bottom’s gonna fall out. Just ’cause I don’t really know how I got here. But I just keep moving forward, and it just keeps getting better and better.”

Oh, and who did the Alabaman vote for in the 2008 election?

“I don’t care. If they don’t like me because I voted for Obama, then f— them. I like horses and I like Obama. Nothin’ wrong with that.”

E!’s Marc Malkin chatted with Twilight’s screenwriter Melissa Rosenburg who said:

“There’s a very big battle at the end with Riley, and I think Channing would do that so well. And there are some complexities to that character,” she adds. “He really is tragic. He’s a puppet for Victoria [bad-girl vampire played by Rachelle Lefevre]. So he has to break your heart a little bit at the end when he realizes that she doesn’t want him. Channing could do that beautifully.”

Nice. We may actually drag ourselves out to this one if Channing sexes it up onscreen.
