So what’s he doing in Hollywood?

Despite his super buff body and movie star good looks, Chris Evans has admitted that he doesn’t feel at home in Hollywood… and we believe him! After all, this is coming from a guy who sought therapy before accepting the lead role in “Captain America” due to his strange fear of becoming a huge star.

In fact, Chris was so uncomfortable with the “big Hollywood star” idea that he almost turned down the role, which was undoubtedly one the biggest roles of his career.

The actor tells Details:

“What if the movie comes out and it’s a success and I just reject all of this? What if I want to move to the f-cking woods?”

Speaking of the woods, Evans then reveals that one of the reasons why he’s so wary of Hollywood is the fact that he feels more at home in the woods.

True story.

The “Fantastic Four” star explains:

“For a long time all I wanted for Christmas were books about outdoor survival. I was convinced that the woods were calling me. I camped a lot, I took classes.”

Chris adds:

“At 18, I told myself if I don’t live in the woods by myself by the time I’m 25, I have failed.”

How strange that he ended up going so far off the mark.

Hayley, who plays Agent Peggy Carter, got to repeatedly touch Chris’s man boobs for some of his topless scenes, and she admits that she just “couldn’t help herself.” The actress reveals:

“That was an instinctive moment. I literally couldn’t help myself, because I hadn’t seen him with his top off until that moment… I mean, go for the man boob! And [the director] loved it. He was like, ‘Do that again!’ So we ended up doing lots of takes just to see how far we could go, and then got a little bit over the top.”

Over the top, huh? How, exactly? Hayley shares:

“There was the touching of the nipple, and it became like a Saturday Night Live sketch. It was kind of ridiculous. Really corny.”

Although Hayley obviously admires his extremely buff bod, she reveals that Chris, who plays both pre and post-experiment Steve Rogers/Captain America, is not all beefcake—there’s a lot of depth to him, too. She says:

“He’s a really good musician, a good singer, and a really good dancer, too… So I think I was surprised at that, because a lot of the things I’d seen pictured him as a kind of goofy jock. Kind of a strong, masculine guy. And there’s a lot more to Chris that will be revealed, I’m sure, in his career. He’s a very, very talented young man.”

Are you excited to see Chris and his glorious Captain America body, too?

Well, apparently, Chris Evans did.

Chris has been a Hollywood actor for the last decade, although he’s more known for his supporting roles than anything else. Still, wouldn’t someone who’s tried to make it in this fickle town jump at the chance to be offered something that’s made Robert Downey, Jr., Christian Bale, and Hugh Jackman into household names?

Instead of taking a flying leap into the arms of a mental health professional?

“I wouldn’t have done it…had I not agreed to do ‘Captain America’ and gone into panic mode. The second I agreed to do it, I was like, ‘All right, I’ll do this, but I’ve got to start working on my head.’ ”

Evans says.

The man’s freaking scared of stardom and wants to be a bit player all his life? No wonder he needed a shrink.

Well, as many of these stories go, it appears Evans and Ashley were spotted out and about being flirtatious with each other. Naturally, they might be dating. Or screwing. As E! reports:

“Ashley was all over [Chris], and he certainly didn’t mind,” dishes a partygoer there last night.

The Twilight star and Captain America hunk were hanging at Frankie Delgado‘s table, and they could hardly keep their eyes (and hands) off each other.

“They were dancing together very closely,” adds our source. “It looked like they had a lot of sexual chemistry.”

Just a quick question – where there ever any stories like this when Ashley and Joe began dating? They never seemed very handsy with each other. Just sayin’.

This has the potential to launch Chris in to superstardom, especially if he shows some skin! Other star names tossed out included Chace Crawford, Ryan Phillipe, Tatum Channing and John Krasinksi. Pretty stiff competition!  According to Just Jared:

Chris Evans has accepted the lead role in Marvel’s much-anticipated superhero flick, The First Avenger: Captain America (alter ego: Steve Rogers).

According to THR, if the franchise does well, the 28-year-old actor will play the part in two sequels and star in the upcoming The Avengers movie, out in 2012.

Does Chris look familiar? He was the Human Torch in the Fantastic Four movies. I can’t wait til this one comes out…

He says, “I have a nice backyard. It’s very secluded, so every now and then I might just run out quickly and take the trash out.”

With a body like that, I won’t mind running around naked as well!
