Fatherhood must have really changed former bad boy Colin Farrell, as he reportedly spent Christmas at the Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Crumlin, Dublin, arriving unannounced with 100 gifts in tow for all the kids… as if he was Santa Claus or something.

And the amazing thing is, his own rep didn’t even know about it!

So how did we find out about it? Well, we probably wouldn’t have because Colin kept it quiet. But some relatives of the children at the hospital tweeted about the actor’s good deed. One tweeted:

“Just chatting with #ColinFarrell who is in with presents for the kids here in #Crumlin. No tv/media, a gentleman and genuine.”

Another one said:

“Just met Colin Farrell he came to meet the kids in crumlin hospital really nice man. fair play to him putting a smile on the childrens faces.”

The Twitter user added:

“fair play him giving up his Christmas day to cheers up others!!!! Merry Christmas from st johns ward!!!!”

A third one said:

“colin farrell is a real genuine guy alright. All the presents he brought! Happy Xmas from St Brigids ward!”

Wow. Does this raise Colin in your estimation? It definitely has in ours!

Star news visited the set of “Total Recall,” a remake from the Arnold Schwarzenegger-Sharon Stone early 90′s sci-fi to get a closer look, not at alien hookers with three boobs, but at what’s really happening with co-stars Jessica Biel and Colin Farrell.

It seems those two have been hanging out exclusively between takes, and Colin‘s even asked her out to dinner. Is there a “locationship” in the works?

Earlier, Jessica and Gerard began their “locationship” while filming “Playing The Field” (yes, Jessica is, isn’t she? And how!).  They had a nice Japanese dinner in Louisiana, then hopped to New York City on a private plane together for the weekend. By Monday, back on set, the two were giving off palpable vibes of couple-ship.

And so now, Jessica‘s “playing the field” with Colin.

Hmmm…is she maybe trying to find out why Justin Timberlake‘s liked the “field” so much, he was so hard to pin down?

Let’s see how this goes, shall we?

The Irish actor has played all sorts of unsavory bloodthirsty characters – from Jesse James in  “American Outlaws” to a violent gangster in “London Boulevard”, from the title role in the plasma-letting “Alexander the Great” to Bullseye in “Daredevil”. Seeing him as creature of the night isn’t going to be much of a stretch…

The movie is a remake of the 1995 classic of the same name that currently enjoys horror cult success. According to Hollywood celebrity gossip, film director Craig Gillespie is hoping this version reaches the same stature. The film hit theaters August 9th, just in time for the chilly heebie-jeebies to start raising goosebumps…

While sitting down and chatting with Ellen DeGeneres on Friday, Farrell made the somewhat surprising celebrity news admission when she asked if he considers himself a one woman kind of a dude.

“I think when I answer yes to something like that, I’m kind of shocked myself that I’m answering yes,” Farell explains. “That’s why it was a question. I’m kind of like, ‘Colin do you really believe yourself?’ I was never much for dating,” he explains. “I was much for a few things, but I kind of usually went decent-ish amount of time.”

Eh. That’s nice to hear he might be settling down. To hell if I’d trust him, however.

Says spies:

“The pair did not want to be photographed together so came out of Santa Monica eatery Giorgio Baldi separately last night. It has been reported in recent weeks that the pair have been sending flirty text messages to each other. The Sun claims that Farrell, 34 has ‘worked his charms on Rihanna to such an extent she hasn’t stopped texting him’, since they swapped numbers earlier this year when they both appeared on The Graham Norton Show in the UK.”

I actually like the idea of Rihanna and Colin Farrell - but don’t see this one lasting. This will definitely be a fling type of a situation.

In other movies, this superb actor must drop his strong Irish dialect, and speak with an American accent, which always is convincing to the audience. Supposedly Rihanna has been sending Colin suggested text messages via cell phone. And some of the messages supposedly surprised him – hmmmm.

A source told The Sun, “Colin was taken aback by some of the texts. He reckons he might well be in there. They’re both single, so why not?”

It is reported that on the show, Farrell had complimented Rihanna’s legs saying, “They are very nice limbs. There’s probably a reason I mentioned them, I had to get them off my mind.”

I can’t really see these two together, can you? But they are both single, so why not. Who do you think Rihanna should date if she doesn’t already have plans with Colin?

Keira, who is to star opposite Colin in forthcoming film ‘London Boulevard’, has recently been consoling Colin following his split from novelist Emma Forrest.

Former hellraiser Colin, 32, is said to be distraught after he was dumped by Emma following a year-long relationship and has turned to Keira, who he had been in touch with regarding their roles.

A source said: “Keira thought it would be helpful to speak to Colin about their parts but she has been trying to support him through girlfriend troubles.

Well, it doesn’t say how she is supporting him now, does it?  These two are very private people, so they wouldn’t go out clubbing together and get smashed and photographed so we had proof.  How do you think Keira is helping Colin?

We all remember the bumbling, drunky Colin only a few short years back. He was the hot, Irish actor that, no doubt, served as a walking travel advertisement for his homeland—come to Ireland, hang out in pubs, and party with a bunch of sex-obsessed rogues like me. Or maybe that’s just what I took away from it…

Regardless, I forgot how much he actually imbibed, swallowed and snorted at his prime. Colin Farrell and Amy Winehouse are kindred spirits. After ending up on a shrink’s couch in 2003:

The Daily Mail reports that Colin is believed to have lost more than 40 pounds for the Bosnian film in which he stars alongside Spanish actress Paz Vega and British actor Christopher Lee.

The thriller tells the story of a war photographer who loses his best friend during an assignment in war-torn Bosnia during the early 1990s.

So what finally gave him up?  He was caught in public and trying desperately to hide his left hand – the ring finger hand – so that inspired the press to dig deep.   TMZ got a picture of his hand and surprise!  There looks to be a wedding band on it.  So what gives?  It could be Muireann McDonnell, who he hooked up with a while back.  No confirmation back from anybody if it’s true or not.
