The day has finally come for the two singers—who both sport matching blonde hair—to start their new jobs as “X Factor” judges alongside Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid.

Britney looked sexy in a figure-hugging hot pink dress with a sheer panel on the bodice while Demi went for a more youthful look with a bright, printed dress and a black leather jacket.

Apparently, Howard Stern isn’t the only one who thinks Britney Spears, whom he called a “train wreck,” might not be the best choice to judge a singing competition. But how can anyone criticize Demi (who recently signed on as an “X Factor” judge alongside Britney, Simon Cowell, and L.A. Reid) and her singing abilities? Sure, the girl has some problems—she went to rehab at the age of 18, after all—and is probably too young for the job, but still… she has a very powerful voice!

Nonetheless, when John Legend was interviewed at a red carpet event in NYC, the Grammy winning singer took a jab at both girls’ vocal talents. When asked if  he had anything to say about the girls’ appointment as judges on “X Factor,” John said:

“It should be very interesting. I don’t have much to say. It’s interesting when people that, you know, are judging singing competitions when they aren’t really singers.”

Burn!

Other singers who were interviewed, however, had nothing but praises for the new “X Factor” judges.

Kelly Clarkson said:

“I’m excited for both of them, I’m a big fan of both of them… I think those two are two girls you really want to root for… I think it’ll be good for [the show].”

Meanwhile, Robin Thicke also offered his opinion:

“Everything Britney does she excels at, Demi is a lovely young lady, [and] I’m sure they’ll do nothing but make the show a lot more fun to watch.”

Maybe she did it to match her new fellow “X Factor” judge Britney Spears‘ hair, which has a natural blonde hue.

Demi, who has gone from brunette to redhead, then to blonde, and then back to brunette again in the span of a few months, showed off her new light locks as she joined Britney, Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid on the red carpet in a printed Falguni & Shane Peacock dress and Topshop heels.

We’re not sure if we like this look on Demi, honestly. It looks kind of dirty… especially with those very visible dark roots.

JLo fears that newbie “X Factor” judges Britney and Demi will initially have quite a hard time on the show, just like she had during her first few months as a female judge on “Idol” alongside Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler.

Jennifer admits to ET Online:

“I feel a little scared for [Britney and Demi] ’cause I was scared when I started.”

However, the veteran pop star is still confident that the younger pop stars can manage the pressure:

“It’s live TV – there’s a lot of pressure that goes with it – but I think they’ll do great. They’ve both been in the spotlight since they were very young, so they’ll be fine.”

So what advice does JLo have for the two former Disney child stars? She continues:

“Just be yourself. I think it’s just about really being your true self, not trying to be something that you’re not.”

After a lot of negotiations, reports confirm that 19-year-old Demi Lovato will join pop princess Britney Spears as a judge on the singing competition show. The two will replace former female judges Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul, who were both fired from the show after the end of the first season.

TMZ reports:

“Demi will be in NYC tomorrow for the FOX Up Fronts to announce her joining the show.”

But don’t worry, Lovatics! Demi won’t be leaving her singing career behind. The “Give Your Heart A Break” singer, who is slated to go on tour this summer, will still be touring despite her new “X Factor” obligations.

Demi Lovato certainly fits the “X Factor” criteria for the next judge–younger and brunette–so it’s no wonder that the Disney star would be picked to judge on the show beside newly appointed judge Britney Spears to replace the show’s cast offs Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger.

The “Don’t Forget” singer was reportedly sought after by the show’s creator Simon Cowell in the hopes of her bringing a much younger audience to patronize the show, as the older judge Britney will be bringingthe more mature crowd.

The Hollywood Reporter reports further:

“The deal is not yet done and could fall apart, but sources say Lovato‘s team is in final negotiations for the job.”

The former Disney star has been hounded by cocaine addiction rumors ever since she went to rehab in 2010, which happened after she punched a backup dancer while she was touring with the Jonas Brothers. But despite the constant rumors, Demi has never come out and admitted anything… until now.

Although she was reluctant to confess outright, Demi revealed how she got started with drugs in a recent in-depth interview with Fabulous:

“Promoters gave me drugs and alcohol in restaurants or clubs. They wanted me to come back so I would be seen there. They were basically kissing my a**.”

The “Give Your Heart A Break” singer added:

“I thought they were my friends. I thought I was having fun. Being a celebrity can be dangerous. Nobody says ‘no’. That’s why so many end up overdosing and dying. It could definitely have happened to me.”

Then why did she accept them in the first place? The former “Sonny With A Chance” star explained:

“I was depressed. I would come off stage in front of 18,000 people and suddenly be alone in a hotel room. I’d come crashing down and would try to find a way to recreate that feeling, to stay ‘up’.”

Now that she has been to rehab and is trying to get her life back together, it would appear that Demi has left the drugs and alcohol behind her.

However, her eating disorder (which was the main reason she went to rehab) is another story. She admitted:

“I’ve slipped up a few times, but each time I have learned from it, and it’s become further apart.”

Something tells us Demi Lovato’s strikingly pretty face won’t help her one bit if she had hit the recently remarried Beatle for real.

As to be expected, the tweet-happy singer shared the story of her run-in with Sir Paul McCartney on Twitter:

“So…. today I was pulling into a parking space that some guys were standing in the middle of, and almost hit them….. When one of the guys turned around…. it was a BEATLE…….. Yes, YOU HEARD ME…. SIR PAUL McCARTNEY!!! He was so sweet!! Can’t believe I met him today.. WOW!”

Demi added:

“And…. I can’t believe I almost ran over a Beatle……. :l”

Thankfully, Paul McCartney did not get hurt.

Demi is normally covered in layers of makeup, but on Saturday the gorgeous singer decided to give her fans a rare glimpse of her natural look. She skipped the bronzer, eyeliner, false eyelashes, and bright lipstick and arranged her usually perfectly coiffed hair—which she recently dyed blonde—into a no-nonsense bun.

Demi wrote:

Could it be true?

Demi, who was rumored to have put and end to her secret relationship with on-again-off-again boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama, was reportedly spotted locking lips with Logan Henderson at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in NYC the other day.

A source tells HollywoodLife.com:

“I saw Demi and Logan kissing at the Ritz Carlton Hotel.”

And hours before the alleged makeout session, the rumored couple attended the premiere of “Big Time Movie,” a Nickelodeon original TV movie starring Logan’s boy band group, Big Time Rush.

HollywoodLife.com reports:

“Demi looked casual and happy to be Logan’s date for the evening, posing for pics and even sitting with him inside the theater. Following the film, Demi and Logan left together. [They were even] holding hands as they [walked] down the street.”

In an interview with NYC’s Z100 radio station, the newly blonde singer reveals the most “rock and roll” thing she’s ever done in her life:

“I break things. I’ve trashed dressing rooms just for the hell of it.”

Lovato also admits that she once threw lunchmeat up at the ceiling just “for fun.” She explains:

“I like to throw things when I’m bored… I was trying to catch the deli meat on the ceiling. . . it ended up turning into kind of a food fight!”

The “Skyscraper” singer adds:

“I’ve done some pretty rock and roll things that I probably shouldn’t talk about.”

Seriously, what’s new?

Demi Lovato tweeted her support for Wilmer Valderrama who was due to appear on his show “Awake” that night. The “This Is Me” singer and “That ’70s Show” actor—who seems to have a penchant for attractive female rocker types—have secretly dated and split several times, though without public confirmation, and Demi‘s tweets have made wonder whether or not they are actually on… again.

She tweeted:

“Everyone pleeeease tune in to NBC tonight at 10 PM to watch the AMAZING new show #AWAKE. I’m so excited to watch @WillyVille tonight!”

The tweet was followed another tweet saying:

“So excited, watching the east coast premier of #AWAKE with my band.. So good”

Just the day before, Demi said on Twitter:

“If you love something, let it go. If it comes back, it’s yours forever. If it doesn’t, then it was never meant to be.”

Well, we’re not sure if he’s anything close to coming “back” since Wilmer was just spotted flirting with a brunette at the Maxim party last February 26.

Like RiRi, Demi went for a total hair makeover by dyeing her previously red hair a bleached blonde shade. She posted the photo of her new ‘do a few hours ago on Twitter, with the caption:

“Thank you SO much Nine Zero One salon for my new locks!! How do you guys like the new look?? :)”

Within one hour, “Demi Blondevato” became a trending topic on Twitter.

Demi might just be the next celebrity to model for Tyler Shields who gets subjected to criticism and controversy (who can forget the backlash from the domestic violence shoot he did with “Glee” star Heather Morris?) due to her suggestive poses with a phallic shaped object.

It’s definitely not as bad as Miley Cyrus’ pretending to lick a penis-shaped cake, but still! Thanks to Demi’s former Disney star status, she’s still considered a role model for young girls!

Despite rampant Hollywood rumors that they had called it quits (again), Wilmer and Demi exchanged some super-sweet messages on Twitter earlier this week, which fueled speculation that maybe they are still dating.

After a brief, weeklong hiatus, Demi came back to Twitter with a bang by composing an incredibly sweet birthday greeting for her supposed ex, Wilmer:

“To the one and only @WillyVille – I only hope the world can see what an incredible man you are.. Happy Birthday Wilmer, you deserve it. :)”

To which Wilmer replied:

“@ddlovato thank you my angel… #StayStrong”

So, if they were no longer dating… why did Wilmer call her his angel?

But why?

Well, it’s probably because of the fact that she’s always getting herself featured on celebrity gossip websites because of her controversial tweets. Like the time she said she was “angry with God”… or when she slammed the Disney Channel for making a joke on one of their shows about eating disorders… and even that time she got into a fight with one of her followers because the latter had said her arms were “chunky.”

Demi’s Twitter experience has been pretty darn eventful, no?

Tired of trouble, the former Disney starlet announced on Sunday that she was quitting Twitter. She wrote:

“Twitter break. It’s for the best actually. Who allows me to have this thing anyways?!!! I just get myself in trouble! Haha. Anyway… BYE!”

Right before that, Demi tweeted:

“Can’t please everyone.”

You certainly can’t, Demi. But we’re sure you’d want to please your fans… and we know they all want to read your innermost thoughts and feelings on your Twitter account.

Demi obviously can’t stop showing off her cleavage, because the “Skyscraper” singer walked the red carpet in yet another cleavage-baring ensemble… a strapless peach Marchesa gown with a sweetheart neckline, a jewel-encrusted bodice, and a long, dramatic train. She completed the outfit with a gorgeous gold and turquoise Marchesa clutch and metallic gold Loubotin peep-toes.

The entire outfit is gorgeous (if a bit much for the occasion), but somehow it doesn’t look good on Demi. The dress is a bit too tight, and it makes her look, well, stuffed. The ageing updo didn’t help, either.

However, we must give props to Demi for her flawless makeup. Face-wise, she’s immaculately stunning!

Remember when they were photographed kissing last November on an early morning walk after 19-year-old Demi allegedly spent the night with her sometime boyfriend, 31-year-old Valderrama? And then again when they attended Tiffany Thornton‘s wedding together two weeks after that?

Well, both of them never really admitted they were seeing each other, and now their supposedly secret union is over. Just like it never was…

Hmmm…looks like Demi has been playing the player. Wilmer‘s known as a Hollywood Lothario who’s dated not only Demi, but also Lindsay Lohan, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Avril Lavigne. He’s additionally been linked to “That 70′s Show” co-star Mila Kunis, and Ashlee Simpson.

Was Demi just getting back at Wilmer for a past romantic slight, or did she simply use him for her own lustful ends?

Last year, Demi was able to successfully clean up her act and has since become an inspiration to a lot of people everywhere. However, the singer still seems to be at odds with a few things in her life, as evidenced by her recent tweets:
