It seems that a lot of celebrities are opting for lighter hair colors this year… like Rihanna, who went the bleached blonde route last week, or Demi’s good friend Kim Kardashian, who dyed her raven hair a modest chestnut brown in January.

Like RiRi, Demi went for a total hair makeover by dyeing her previously red hair a bleached blonde shade. She posted the photo of her new ‘do a few hours ago on Twitter, with the caption:

“Thank you SO much Nine Zero One salon for my new locks!! How do you guys like the new look?? :)”

Within one hour, “Demi Blondevato” became a trending topic on Twitter.

Demi might just be the next celebrity to model for Tyler Shields who gets subjected to criticism and controversy (who can forget the backlash from the domestic violence shoot he did with “Glee” star Heather Morris?) due to her suggestive poses with a phallic shaped object.

It’s definitely not as bad as Miley Cyrus’ pretending to lick a penis-shaped cake, but still! Thanks to Demi’s former Disney star status, she’s still considered a role model for young girls!

But we have to admit… Demi, who sports bright red lips, winged eyeliner, and even a short black wig in some photos, looks stunning in these shots!

Despite rampant Hollywood rumors that they had called it quits (again), Wilmer and Demi exchanged some super-sweet messages on Twitter earlier this week, which fueled speculation that maybe they are still dating.

After a brief, weeklong hiatus, Demi came back to Twitter with a bang by composing an incredibly sweet birthday greeting for her supposed ex, Wilmer:

“To the one and only @WillyVille – I only hope the world can see what an incredible man you are.. Happy Birthday Wilmer, you deserve it. :)”

To which Wilmer replied:

“@ddlovato thank you my angel… #StayStrong”

So, if they were no longer dating… why did Wilmer call her his angel?

But why?

Well, it’s probably because of the fact that she’s always getting herself featured on celebrity gossip websites because of her controversial tweets. Like the time she said she was “angry with God”… or when she slammed the Disney Channel for making a joke on one of their shows about eating disorders… and even that time she got into a fight with one of her followers because the latter had said her arms were “chunky.”

Demi’s Twitter experience has been pretty darn eventful, no?

Tired of trouble, the former Disney starlet announced on Sunday that she was quitting Twitter. She wrote:

“Twitter break. It’s for the best actually. Who allows me to have this thing anyways?!!! I just get myself in trouble! Haha. Anyway… BYE!”

Right before that, Demi tweeted:

“Can’t please everyone.”

You certainly can’t, Demi. But we’re sure you’d want to please your fans… and we know they all want to read your innermost thoughts and feelings on your Twitter account.

Demi obviously can’t stop showing off her cleavage, because the “Skyscraper” singer walked the red carpet in yet another cleavage-baring ensemble… a strapless peach Marchesa gown with a sweetheart neckline, a jewel-encrusted bodice, and a long, dramatic train. She completed the outfit with a gorgeous gold and turquoise Marchesa clutch and metallic gold Loubotin peep-toes.

The entire outfit is gorgeous (if a bit much for the occasion), but somehow it doesn’t look good on Demi. The dress is a bit too tight, and it makes her look, well, stuffed. The ageing updo didn’t help, either.

However, we must give props to Demi for her flawless makeup. Face-wise, she’s immaculately stunning!

Remember when they were photographed kissing last November on an early morning walk after 19-year-old Demi allegedly spent the night with her sometime boyfriend, 31-year-old Valderrama? And then again when they attended Tiffany Thornton‘s wedding together two weeks after that?

Well, both of them never really admitted they were seeing each other, and now their supposedly secret union is over. Just like it never was…

And Demi posted some mighty suspicious tweets on her social media account:

“A wise girl kisses but doesn’t love, listens but doesn’t believe, and leaves before she is left.”

She said, repeating a Marilyn Monroe quote before adding her own:

“The smartest thing a woman can ever learn, is to never need a man.”

Hmmm…looks like Demi has been playing the player. Wilmer‘s known as a Hollywood Lothario who’s dated not only Demi, but also Lindsay Lohan, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Avril Lavigne. He’s additionally been linked to “That 70′s Show” co-star Mila Kunis, and Ashlee Simpson.

Was Demi just getting back at Wilmer for a past romantic slight, or did she simply use him for her own lustful ends?

Last year, Demi was able to successfully clean up her act and has since become an inspiration to a lot of people everywhere. However, the singer still seems to be at odds with a few things in her life, as evidenced by her recent tweets:

“Sometimes it seems like God just keeps throwing crap my way and I get SO angry with him… But there’s never a doubt in my mind He’s gonna pull me through it all. I know you’re there God. But umm… Really dude?”

Demi continues:

“He never fails to show me He’s by my side though. Even in the tough times. #Godstuff”

The singer then adds:

“I’m not very religious but I’m VERY spiritual and I DO believe in God. I’m not perfect or preaching! Just tweeting… :)”

FYI to the unaware, Demi considers Selena her best friend, while she’s credited Kim Kardashian a lot for helping her get through some of the most trying times in her life, particularly during her stint in rehab last year for treatment of Bi-Polar II, eating and cutting disorders…

Hmmm…looks like Selena and Kim were too busy to grace Demi‘s event with their presence, so we guess the “Skyscraper” singer just had to be content with their heartfelt emails to celebrate her February 2012 Seventeen Magazine cover.

“Thank you for always being a true friend, for always following your heart and for being an inspiration to me and countless other girls around the world,”

went Kim‘s email, which Seventeen’s editor in chief Ann Shoket read to Demi at The Redbury hotel’s Cleo restaurant in Hollywood.

“Your strength and kindness will never go unnoticed.”

Selena also sent her best regards in a second, longer email:

“You have courage—courage to want to change to be better for yourself,”

Selena wrote.

“The amount of respect I have for you is indescribable. You have gone through one of the hardest chapters in your life and I praise you for wanting to share that journey and walk away from it all as a better person. Thank you for trusting me and wanting me there during that hard time. I hope you know how much I love you and how proud I am of the role model that you have become.”

And given that Demi did find a tremendous amount of courage to make a successful comeback, maybe both Selena and Kim may very well find time in their busy lives to give their support in person at Demi‘s next big event…

After all, Demi did punch a backup dancer in the face back in 2010 after they had a heated argument on a plane. And we all know Miley’s a bit of a firecracker too, as evidenced by the fact that she cussed out a fan who was rude to her just last month.

In a recent interview with Seventeen magazine, Demi shares:

“There are two people that no matter how many times we fight, we will always be in each other’s lives.”

According to Demi, Miley Cyrus is one of them. However, she admits that when she and Miley fight, it can get ugly. She explains:

“Miley and I are very strong-headed, so when we fight, it’s brutal and we’re like, ‘We’re never going to be friends again!’“

But they always make up! Demi continues:

“…two days later, we’re like, ‘I love you and I miss you!’”

The other friend Demi can never cut out of her life is of course her longtime BFF, Selena Gomez. However, unlike Demi and the feisty Miss Cyrus, she and Justin Bieber’s ladylove never fight. Demi admits:

“Selena and I, we never fight. She’s not a confrontational person at all.”

She adds:

“Both of them will never leave my life no matter what happens, because we’ve been through so much together.””

Aside from Miley and Selena, Demi is also thankful for her other friends, such as Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian, who were there for her when she was in rehab. She shares:

“We’re not super-close, but Taylor Swift tweeted ‘Pray for Demi,’ which I thought was really awesome of her. And Kim Kardashian, the busiest woman on the planet, took time to call me… [Kim] was there for me when not many people were. I could count on my hands how many people were there for me. So the people who were, I didn’t forget it.”

Demi, who made a recent hair change by dyeing her normally brunette hair in a fiery red color, has debuted a new hairstyle—and it’s drastically different from her usual long, flowing locks.

Demi tweeted the above photo with the caption:

“Hey guys… Like my new look? :P”

We definitely do! It looks cute and edgy, and it’s definitely a huge (but positive) change for Demi. But, the thing is…

…it’s only a wig.

Minutes after posting the photo, Demi again tweeted:

“It’s just a wig that I got today!! Hehe… Don’t freak ;)”

So, yeah. Sadly, Demi did not get this incredibly cool short bob.

Fresh from waging war against the Disney Channel for making a joke about eating disorders in one of its shows, Demi came out with a blog on Seventeen magazine’s website entitled “My Battle With Eating Disorders,” in which she talks about her own struggles with the disease and offers sound advice to others who are going through it as well.

Demi started off by giving a short background on how her problem with bulimia started. She wrote:

“I started compulsively overeating at a very young age. And then I almost stopped eating altogether at the age of 12, after being harassed by kids at school, for being “fat”.”

Then, after giving a lengthy explanation about what eating disorders really are and how they are developed, Demi added:

“I’m so proud of my partnership with the Jed Foundation for the Love Is Louder Than the Pressure To Be Perfect Campaign. Through the campaign we encourage everyone to love who they are and embrace the so-called “flaws” that actually make each of us unique.”

The “Skyscraper” singer then offered some advice:

“If you or someone you know if suffering from an eating disorder, it’s important to speak up and seek professional help. There are a lot of great websites out there with tips on how to deal, and more information about the disease. A great one that I recommend is The National Eating Disorders Association.”

Demi, who has become something of a shining role model and inspiration for girls (and maybe even boys) out there who are suffering from eating disorders, wrote:

“My eating disorder will continue to affect me for the rest of my life, but I’m proud to say that I got the help I needed, and am now the happiest and healthiest I have ever been!”

The former Disney star ended the blog with:

“You can get help, and you can feel better.

STAY STRONG.”

Just in case you’ve been living under a rock (or just don’t follow Hollywood celebrity gossip all that much), Demi checked into rehab last year after punching a backup dancer while on a plane. But no, she wasn’t treated for anger issues. The real reason the former “Sonny With a Chance” star checked into rehab was to be treated for bulimia and self-harm.

So when one of the characters on Disney’s “Shake It Up” made a joke about eating disorders, Demi immediately took offense. Yesterday, she tweeted the joke and expressed her dismay with the channel:

“I could just eat you up, well if I ate” – Disney Chanel’s Shake It Up…. What are we promoting here? #notfunnyATALL”

She added:

“I find it really funny how a company can lose one of their actress’ from the pressures of an EATING DISORDER and yet still make joke about that very disease. #nice”

Demi then ranted:

“And is it just me or are the actress’ getting THINNER AND THINNER…. I miss the days of RAVEN [Raven Symone], and LIZZIE MCGUIRE [Hilary Duff].”

Finally, Demi said:

“Dear Disney Channel, EATING DISORDERS ARE NOT SOMETHING TO JOKE ABOUT.”

Obviously, Demi’s rant reached the “powers that be” at Disney Channel, as their official Twitter account tweeted just hours later:

@ddlovato – we hear you & are pulling both episodes as quickly as possible & reevaluating them… It’s NEVER our intention to make light of eating disorders!

This makes it a total of six tattoos the former Disney star now has, from a feather behind her ear, the words “Stay” and “Strong” on her wrists, and the phrase “You make me beautiful” on her side, along with a cross on her hand. For Demi, keeping the faith is a testament of her resilience in the face of a crazy industry that once pulled her down a dark and deeply deranged path…

But then again,

“Sometimes you just gotta have a little bit of……”

Demi tweeted, along with the accompanying grainy polaroid of her new skin adornment.

Perhaps it’s a message of inspiration to the many women and girls still fighting their own demons at the the Timberline Knolls Residential Treatment Center where Demi received her own treatment last year, and visited earlier this week to share some motivational messages and prayers.

And perhaps it’s also a message to herself to remind her always to keep her head above treacherous waters…

Apparently, at one point during her performance, the “Skyscraper” singer leaned a little bit too forward towards the audience, and when she straightened up, one of the cups of her strapless outfit slipped down to reveal…viola!

It appears Demi isn’t only tearing out her hair extensions onstage. Her list of wardrobe malfunctions now include nip slips. But being the professional performer she is, Demi didn’t make a big deal out of it. She didn’t even bother tweeting about the incident, except to say:

And Dallas was indeed burning up, if the viral news and photos of Demi‘s outfit mishap spreading like wildfire online were any indication. Let’s hope she doesn’t decide to have an industrial fan blowing onstage at her next tour destination (Hato Rey, Puerto Rico), or she may very well suffer a Taylor Swift wardrobe malfunction and flash her panties to the world, too…

Demi, who’s been very open about the time she’d spent at the Timberline Knolls Residential Treatment Center for girls and women, came back as an alum to share the story about her breakdown last year after she punched a back-up dancers…

“Today I went back to the treatment center I went to last year, to speak to the beautiful women fighting their inner demons.. was so honored.”

Demi shared on Twitter.

“To be able to share my story and let them know that it gets easier. Life is beautiful…. You are worthy of it.”

Demi has never hesitated to share her rehab experience with celebrity gossip websites. In fact, it’s practically all she’s ever talked about or referred to this year.

“Wow what an inspiring day… Many tears were shed and many memories were brought back at Timberline Knolls today.”

Demi further tweeted, obviously touched at having returned to the place where she finally exorcised her own eating, cutting and Bipolar II disorders.

“Please say a prayer for all of those struggling with eating disorders, self harm, mood disorders, and substance abuse.”

she exhorted her 5.1 million followers.

And who knows, her time spent at rehab may have had such a great impact on her, she might just decide to become a celebrity spokesperson for Timberline Knolls when her tour for her album “Unbroken” comes to a close this year.

Just take a look at that sultry gaze she’s trained on the camera…doesn’t look much like the Demi of just a few months ago, does she?

And what does she credit for this subtle but very revealing change?

“Having strength and confidence in yourself. I think that women who know who they are are beautiful.”

Demi told star news via her Glamour magazine interview.

“I feel like I’m there. I feel beautiful, you know? I feel strong, and I feel confident in who I am.”

Did she learn her new outlook in life when she was in rehab? We wonder…

“I met so many young girls and even older women [in rehab] who had literally, you know, been through so much that I couldn’t even imagine. I was maybe a little more closed-minded, and I learned from them never to judge anyone.”

So does she feel as scarred as those women now that she’s been through the wringer of a breakdown, a bipolar disorder, and cutting and eating issues?

“I think scars are like battle wounds—beautiful, in a way. They show what you’ve been through and how strong you are for coming out of it. My tattoos say “Stay strong.” “Stay” on one [wrist] and “strong” on the other. Now I’m able to look at them and be thankful for being alive. I think that I’ve been blessed over the past year to be able to start over.”

And we really appreciate the way Demi has chosen to start over…beautiful!

Celebrity gossip websites were amazed at the resilience of the former Disney star, who refused to be “broken” by such a simple thing as bronchitis, performing through the whole concert despite having woken up sick that morning…

Here’s someone who wouldn’t let something like a threat of the ol’ Hollywood throat epidemic to keep her from disappointing her fans, particularly concert-goers from her very own hometown.

“Woke up so sick this morning but I WILL NOT let it stop me from putting on a killer show in my hometown tonight!!! Come on Dallas TX!!!!”

Demi tweeted yesterday.

“I’m still so ready to rock it out tonight!”

And while Demi‘s set was one song short because she had started to lose her voice, she still gave a rousing performance that did not disappoint.

“Dallas was on fire last night! New Orleans here we go!”

She tweeted just a few hours ago.

This girl is a dynamo! Maybe she’ll be very person to break curse of the Hollywood throat epidemic…

The unfortunate hair blunder happened while Demi was performing at the Midland Theatre in Kansas City, Missouri. The “Skyscraper” singer was doing a particularly energetic dance routine when her hand accidentally yanked a fiery red hair extension right off her head.

OUCH.

Thankfully, instead of screaming in pain, Demi continued singing and dancing as if she didn’t just pull out a chunk of fake hair from her head.

Demi couldn’t stop repeating how grateful she is to be able to spend the holidays with her family this year because last year she was…you guessed it…mentally unfit to mix with people…

But why does she enjoy reminding people of her time spent “inside” trying to fix the problems in her head? It’s either that or she had nothing else to write about being grateful for as Seventeen magazine’s contributing editor.

Entertainment news today notes that Demi‘s column is all about thankfulness in the season of Thanksgiving, and in expressing her thankfulness for her supportive family, she begins with her fateful stint at the rehab facility where she was treated for Bi-polar II disorder.

“As many of you know, last year at this time, I was in treatment. I spent Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Eve away from my home and family which is why I am so excited to be with them this year,”

the 19-year-old singer writes in her monthly column.

“They have stuck by me through everything and love me just the way that I am. That is a wonderful feeling to know that people accept the real you.”

In fact, more than half of her column rehashes her time spent at the facility:

“Going to treatment was a gift and I believe it saved my life. I learned how to be strong and healthy even through struggles,”

Lovato writes.

“It also helped me open up about my issues and share them with others. Knowing that my family, friends and fans accept me for who I am is the greatest feeling ever!”

We feel really great for you, too, Demi. Really, we do. But people have feasted on your rehab grind for most of this year. Wouldn’t it be great if you didn’t wax eloquent about it at every opportunity?
