Ellen Degeneres is named 4th American Idol judge. Ellen was named permanent on Wednesday evening by officials at Fox. Are you surprised? It seems like a lot of people are by this news!

This totally caught me by surprise. I was thinking a judge would have some sort of background in music, and I don’t think Ellen has any. According to the New York Times:
Lindsay Lohan says her split with Samantha Ronson came as a complete surprise. Lindsay was on the Ellen DeGeneres Show (airing today) and admits she had no clue whatsoever that Samantha was through with her. Apparently all was going along swimmingly, Samantha disapeared for a week, and then made sure Lindsay couldn’t enter sister Charlotte’s party in Los Angeles.

Ellen DeGeneres will share an upcoming cover of “O” magazne with Oprah Winfrey. Ellen has been telling viewers that she’s wanted to do a cover with Oprah for weeks. Not surprisingly, Oprah was watching and told her she thought the idea was a wonderful one. Yeah, Ellen gets whatever she wants. Are you surprised? We aren’t.

Drew Barrymore got her tongue pierced after her split from Justin Long, and thinks the stud scares away potential men. Drew was on the Ellen DeGeneres show and admitted she’s always wanted the piercing and finally mustered up the nerve nine months ago. Since then Drew has been single, but did say having a piece of metal in her tongue was a great diet plan.

Jennifer Aniston recently told Ellen Degeneres that she found a gray hair and freaked out. Although Jennifer says this isn’t her first gray hair, it was particularly poignant seeing as she turns the big 4-0 next week. It was like one, lone strand of a reminder that she’s officially middle-aged! (Try telling that to her body, though!)
