Ellen challenged the First Lady, a well-known advocate for nutrition and healthy eating, and who launched the “Lets Move!” initiative to reverse the 21st century trend of childhood obesity, to a push-up contest right on the show. Suffice it to say, 48-year-old Michelle Obama bested the 54-year-old talk show host with the studio audience counting off the number of push-ups they performed…

“How many push-ups you can do? I’d like to do a push-up.”

Ellen asked Michelle Obama.

“You know…I don’t know,”

the First Lady replied.

“I can do some. Can you?”

Words upon which the gauntlet was thrown, resulting in the First Lady of the United States and the gay talk show host to hit the floor.

Ellen finally gave up on the 20th count, while Michelle Obama went on to do 25 to cheers and applause in the audience.

Of course, Ellen‘s older and has had a heart health scare last year, so we put our money on the younger, fitter Michelle Obama. Added to the fact that it wouldn’t have looked good on Ellen‘s resume to have bested a guest…the First Lady, no less…on her show.

Still…these are two women past their 40′s who can do 20-plus full-length push-ups in rapid succession. That’s something to think about. Can you?

So what’s next for the most powerful pop celebrity in the world after having practically conquered the music industry? Why, acting of course! Isn’t that the next step every performer takes? And Gaga tells star news she isn’t content to be in just any film… it has to be a Woody Allen film, no more, no less.

And more importantly, she wants to be able to audition for the role.

“You’ve never seen me act before,”

Gaga explains on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”

“I want to audition…I want to work for it.”

and because

Ellen‘s Halloween tradition of scaring guests on her show has become the stuff of legend, probably a close second to Heidi Klum‘s own tradition of annual Halloween parties. This year, Ellen chose to prank reality star Bethenny Frankel, and she staged it in a photo booth where Bethenny‘s scared (and scary) expression can be seen above.

Celebrity news thinks it’s hilarious, if not a little creepy, how Bethenny, dressed for Halloween as Ariel from The Little Mermaid, looks more like an incensed Ursula here. Uh…Ursula? The sea witch who stole Ariel’s voice? Yeah, that one. Doesn’t it kind of make you wonder if Bethenny chose this costume to remind everyone of how she circulated the fake story of being lost at sea with her husband earlier this month?

In any case, Bethenny fairly leaps out of her skin in Ellen‘s faux photo booth on the show when something from behind her scares her silly she screams right into the camera…

The 16-time Daytime Emmy winner told star news she was having chest pains the night before, and for a 53-year-old, these symptoms could have signaled a more serious condition than Ellen would want anyone to believe.

“What happened was, last night I was having chest pains. So this morning the paramedics came to look at me. First of all, I’m fine. Let me just say, I’m fine.”

She revealed.

“Then I got to work and it was still happening. I was still feeling the pains. So I was like, ‘Ya know, I should check this out. It’s better to be safe than sorry.’ Who doesn’t want to see a fireman occasionally? We called the paramedics here on the Warner Bros. lot and about 50 trucks and ambulances, like one marching band short of a parade, showed up outside of my office. Then they come in with an axe, break the door down. It was open. I don’t know why they did that.”

Ellen might make light of the situation, but that health scare she just had should serve as a wake up call for her to get a thorough physical as soon as possible.

This isn’t the first time Becks went undercover for his good buddy Ellen. Last year he was a hunky masseuse at a massage parlor who specialized in index finger physical therapy. This time around, he plays a personable, if rather clumsy salesman at a Target perfume counter where he tries to tempt customers to buy his own perfume…

Celebrity gossip websites and everyone on Ellen‘s live show were doubled over with laughter as David bent it like Beckham and sprayed his khaki-clad kneecaps with perfume for Target customers to sniff.

“Actually, it smells better on my leg,”

David beguiled a couple of women, adding

“I’m from Australia.”

Back in the studio, Ellen fed David his lines to the guffaws of an appreciative audience.

“Do I look like David Beckham?”

David asked a small crowd of women gathered around his counter.

“I wish. I’m not David Beckham, so stop spreading rumors.”

He even broke into song, calling upon a lady in red to try some of his wares, adding

“If you stink, come buy cologne…”

and spraying the scent into some male shoppers’ faces.

On the other hand, entertainment news thinks Ellen got in by manipulating social media application Twitter, a tool Kim Kardashian has perfected the use of…

Ellen, tongue-in-cheek, tweeted to the whole world the other night:

“No invitation to @KimKardashian‘s wedding yet,”

and of course Kim, whose employed minions follow every Twitter account of worth for her, tweeted back:

“Of course you are invited!!!! COME!”

Uh…so did you get a real invite in the mail today Ellen? You’re a prominent media personality, you know all about the promotional b*llshit celebrities spew out to the world at large. Do you think Kim really meant it and put your name on that all-important list her army of security people and bouncers will be holding at the gate, or was that meant for her nine million Twitter followers to gush over?

During his interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Justin shared:

“It’s a really good idea until it becomes a bad idea. It probably becomes a bad idea really fast.”

The singer/actor also added:

“I think that everybody could probably agree with us when we say, that if you’re going to be intimate with someone at some point somebody’s going to feel something.”

Justin Timberlake was joined on the show by his ‘Friends with Benefits’ co-star Mila Kunis, who said nothing while they were on the topic of sleeping with friends. The two were rumored to have hooked up during the filming of their movie, which Justin has denied.

Ellen: When you were here last, I said, what do you sleep in? Do you have pajamas and you said you sleep in whatever you’re wearing.

Lady Gaga: It’s very funny.

Ellen: Like you’ll sleep in that (what she is wearing.)

Lady Gaga: It’s very funny and my best friends who often will crash at hotels where I’m at. They will come visit me on the road they always call me a Beauty Queen disaster. I wake up and my wigs falling off my head. My mole is on the other side of face. My fake mole, it’s not fake it’s surreal.

Ellen: It’s a surreal mole?

Lady Gaga: It’s a surrealist mole.

Degeneres also talks with Lady Gaga about her HBO Special and how she sometimes feels overwhelmed by her fame. Gaga also confirms she is the godmother to Elton John and David Furnish’s son. Plus, she performs the World TV Premiere of her new single “Judas” from her upcoming CD, “Born This Way.”

Gaga on how her fame is sometimes overwhelming…

Ellen: I know it’s a struggle for all of us. Especially if there’s stuff that happens when you’re younger. You’re constantly dealing with insecurities or feeling you’re worthy of all of this adoration that you get. But I heard that you, in the new HBO special that you were calling your self a loser. Is that right?

Lady Gaga: Well, in that moment I was very excited and nervous. That is a huge benchmark moment in my life. I’m 25 years old. I was asked to play Madison Square Garden. Sold out 5 nights and quite frankly it’s very overwhelming. Do I feel like a loser sometimes? Yes, of course I do. We all feel like losers sometimes.

Christina explained:

“I took in the moment a little bit too much.”

She added:

“Shoot me for appreciating the moment but here I am at the Super Bowl…singing for a team and in front of the world. And remembering what it was like to be that young and look where I made it now.”

The pop star admitted that she was well aware of her mistake as she had been singing the national anthem since she was a child.

She has since learned to forget about the embarrassing incident and has moved on, stating:

“But I have a really good laugh about it and you get over things. You get back up again and you just prove to yourself and to everyone you that much stronger.”

Christina also talked about having someone new in her life and the difficulty of going through a divorce. The pop star recently reached a divorce settlement with her ex-husband Jordan Bratman.

Despite having a rough year so far, Christina is excited about putting the past behind her as she welcomes her new job as a judge on ‘The Voice,’ a new singing competition show similar to hit show ‘American Idol’.

Ellen: I want to hear about the incident. You were on set and there was something involving me. It was actually not me.It was a piece of clothing.

Robert: Similar to another story I told you about windscreen wipers on my car not working. I don’t know how to use a washing machine either. I save your ones (“Ellen” underwear) for special occasions.

Ellen: My underwear?

Robert: Yeah.

Ellen: Thank you.

Robert: So they very rarely get brought out. I was doing the last “Twilight” movie and I only had one pair left and they were those ones (“Ellen” underwear.) We were doing this big fight screen and for some reason I think the shape of my body, my back is too long or something. So my @ss is constantly hanging out (laughing.)

Ellen: Is that why your @ss is hanging out? We were wondering what made that happen all this time.

Robert: I genuinely think I have a few two many extra vertebra or something. Every single shot we were doing this big fight and every shot has these Ellen underpants. It came to a point where producers are calling up my agent going, I don’t know what he is up to but I don’t like it (laughing.)

Ellen: Like there is some conspiracy theory of my underwear being in the movie or something.

Robert: They never questioned “Fruit of the Loom” before….

The American Idol cast-off Toscano sat down on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” with Ellen airing today.

Ellen: You have the most beautiful voice…I hope everybody is looking at this going, we got to vote for people because I think that people thought you had it made…I think a lot of people thought she’s set. She has a great voice but I think you are going to have a career.

You have such a beautiful voice and now you have a very handsome boyfriend, I understand. (Rubbing it in Ellen)

Pia: (Laughing)

Ellen: How is that going?

Pia: I’m really just focusing right now on my music.

Ellen: That’s a good answer.

Pia: I just met him. He’s a very sweet guy.

Ellen: Yeah, sweet guy. It’s that guy from “DWTS” (Ellen shows photo of Mark Ballas) So you all are hanging out. That’s great.

Pia: We’re just friends.

Panettiere sat down with Ellen DeGeneres on her show to promote her new flick “Scream 4” and opens up about her sex life with her giant boyfriend!

Hayden explained people would actually go up to her and ask how they. Um.. You know.

“He is quite a bit bigger than me,” Hayden said, “I get the prudest people come up to me, and they’re like,” she said, lowering her voice to a whisper, “‘Does it work?’”

“Yeah, it works. We find a way.

To which Ellen replied jokingly, “I know what you’re talking about and I’m in shock.”

Ellen said jokingly that these questions “crazy and rude,” but Hayden thought they are amusing.

“When I started out, I traveled the country doing street performances and small gigs. I lived in my car until I was discovered in a coffee shop in San Diego … wait, I’m sorry. I’m thinking of a documentary I saw about Jewel. My big break came on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. I was ecstatic when I got booked and went crazy figuring out what to wear. (Sinbad actually gave me shopping advice, and I listened to him. That explains the Hammer pants.) Onstage, I “killed,” as they say. When I finished, I looked around everywhere—except at Johnny. I looked at the band, the audience, the lighting guy. When I finally looked at Johnny, he was leaning over the desk beckoning me to join him. I was the first female comedian he ever asked over to his couch. He said I was clever. I’ll never forget that.”

Oh dear it’s tough growing up period but it’s tougher now with all these reality TV shows, agree?

Ellen seemed to be doing an excellent job on the show, so what happened?

In a news release, DeGeneres said she told the producers a couple of months ago that the show “didn’t feel like the right fit for me,” partly because of increased work commitments elsewhere, including her popular daytime talk show.

But “I also realized this season that while I love discovering, supporting and nurturing young talent, it was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings,” she added.

OK, I can totally buy that. Not everyone has an easy time shredding people like Simon Cowell does, and obviously Ellen is one of those people. Now who is going to replace TWO judges on AI?

Can you believe in this day and age someone would still come out and say something so awful?

Gary McCullough, the director of the Christian Newswire, has apparently been predicting the demise of Idol since January. He writes in a press release, issued today:

I am confident that the producers of American Idol will be shocked when their market share has cratered, and will in all honesty find a dozen other reasons for the drop in ratings. After all, what successful television producer could have a clue what wholesomeness is as long as they see promoting homosexuality as a virtue.

Seriously? He obviously doesn’t know that sex sells in this country! Do you believe Ellen affected the Idol ratings one way or another?
