In addition to the backlash she suffered after news broke that she attended the Chechen birthday party, Hilary is now left with a mountain of bad press and no PR team to back her up. EW.com reports:

“[Hilary] has been dumped by her PR team at 42West, a source familiar with the situation confirms exclusively to EW. The publicity firm parted ways with Swank over a disagreement on how best to deal with the fallout from the Oct. 5 event.”

As previously reported, Hilary was paid to attend the Chechen president’s birthday party, along with other celebrities such as Jean-Claude Van Damme and Seal. Since the president is an accused human rights violator who has been suspected of many brutal killings and tortures, Hilary found herself in the midst of a huge scandal.

Following a wave of criticism from various groups, Hilary immediately apologized and promised to give the money to charity. In her official statement, she said:

“If I had a full understanding of what this event was apparently intended to be. I would never have gone.”

Strange. Hilary made a speech during that party, and she specifically said that she did do her research on the Chechen president.

So how come she’s still claiming she didn’t know anything?

According to current news, the Human Rights Foundation deplored the fact that Swank and Van Damme, who were invited to attend the event in celebration of the Chechnya strongman’s birthday, Kadyrov being under fire himself for disappearances, torture and executions since his appointment by Vladimir Putin four years ago.

“Hilary Swank obviously has the right to earn a living entertaining the highest bidder, but this sort of venality should be exposed — especially after claiming she was not going. Would she have accepted an invitation to entertain Pinochet? Al-Qaeda? The apartheid government in Pretoria? We must remember the disgrace Mariah Carey, Nelly Furtado, Beyonce and 50 Cent were exposed to after singing for Gaddafi’s family and earning millions of dollars for it.”

The Foundation said in a statement it released, also adding that it had sent letters to both Swank and Van Damme to desist from attending the event based on the human rights misdeeds allegedly committed by Kadyrov.

According to the Foundation, it even has video evidence of Van Damme taking to the stage and declaring:

“I love you, Mr. Kadyrov,”

while Swank was heard wishing the president a happy birthday and that she was “proud to be in Chechnya’s capital, Grozny.”

Well, what can Hilary Swank and Jean Claude Van Damme do? Entertainers have to perform where the money is, don’t they? Besides, if they did decline their respective invites, who knows, they might have been the next ones abducted and tortured…

We’re kidding, of course.

She told the magazine (via HuffingtonPost.com):

HS: I don’t sleep in anything. Do you sleep in a nightgown?

JC: I sleep in pj’s. I have two young sons, so I have to be conscious of that.

HS: Well, my boyfriend’s son is 6 years old, and you wonder at what age you should stop walking around nude. Every morning he comes into the bedroom, and you’re just nude. But he doesn’t look twice; he doesn’t think about it yet. I just toss and turn too much when I sleep, and if I’m in clothes, I get all twisted up.

Sounds like a fancy explanation for choosing to sleep in the nude. Don’t be embarrassed, Hilary! Lots of people sleep sans PJ’s. But maybe you shouldn’t splash this info all over big consumer magazines. Just a thought. (Not that there’s anything wrong with it).

She has to gain between 20 and thirty pounds for her role.  Is it ironic that in order to play a movie role in something titled, ‘don;t get fat’, you have to GAIN weight?  Totally.  But Hilary has been photographed recently and she is very thin.  The 20 pounds would do her a lot of good.  I can spare at least 20 for her if she wants…not a problem.  How many millions of women wish they could be told they HAD to gain weight???

The new movie will not be ready until 2010.  The rest of the cast and crew has not been chosen or announced.

Campisi can’t take his hands off  his Million Dollar Baby, Swank. Which I think it’s a sign of  love & lust – don’t be a prude now! Ok jokes aside, they do look very happy together. Swank and Campisi have been dating since last year probably late last year. Hilary has came out of a long marriage early last year and it looks like one door closes another one opens for her.
