Papa Joe Simpson is happy that Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz have split. After announcing their separation last week, insiders say Joe Simpson is doing everything in his power to make sure Pete and Ashlee don’t reconcile – the same thing he did when Jessica and Nick divorced.

Dad says Ashlee and Jessica Simpson are not failures. Ashlee made her debut on Broadway last night and looked, well, dark and scary. Jessica was curvy and blonde. Dad Joe Simpson said of his girls that dabble in a lot of things but never truly excel, they haven’t failed.

There have been some dubious reports (i.e The National Enquier) claiming Joe doesn’t like Tony dating his daughter Jessica Simpson. There were rumors in the past Joe didn’t like Jessica‘s ex husband Nick Lachey either.

Ashlee Simpson’s manager/father has hit back at reports he’s trying to sell his daughter’s big pregnancy reveal and baby pictures to tabloids for $1 million! Insiders claim Joe Simpson wants $1m for the package, in which Ashlee will finally confirm she is expecting fiancé Pete Wentz’s child – but he insists the story is ridiculous.
Ashlee Simpson’s dad and manager, Joe Simpson wants $1 million for her baby’s photos. So far there are no takers. “Joe is contacting all the weeklies and asking them to pony up $1 million to put Ashlee on the cover,” a magazine source told Pagesix.com. One magazine editor feels the price is way too high – “$60,000 maybe – but definitely not a million!”

John Mayer is a class. I didn’t really like the pair together at first. I was always so used to Simpson being with Nick Lachey. Lachey’s protective macho look. Seriously, Mayer and Simpson look good together! Not just looking good, Mayer is a smart fellow as well!
