Oh, and also…she’s 44.

So how did the actress feel about baring everything on the cover of a magazine, despite the fact that she’s got such a tight body at her age?

“I know! I was terrified, but I really wanted to do a naked cover – especially with SHAPE, because the magazine is about loving yourself inside and out.”

Kate revealed during an interview with the magazine.

“Right now, I feel really healthy, confident, and sexy. I’m enjoying my 40s and wanted to share that. Is it a mid-life crisis? I do drive a Porche, so maybe it is.”

Mid-life crisis, eh? If we all reached our 40′s looking that good, we’d sign up for a mid-life crisis right now.

But how does she maintain her shape?

“The first time I quit smoking, I went on the cabbage soup diet. I was living in a hotel room in L.A. – and believe me, you do not want to cook that smelly vegetable in a hotel room,”

Kate admitted.

“These days, I maintain my weight with portion control. I’d rather have a smaller serving of something amazing than a plateful of diet food. The other night my friend and I went out for Italian, and we split the entire meal – clams in broth, a Brussels sprout salad, a delicious bowl of pasta. And we ate bread with real butter.”

Does that mean she hasn’t had any…er…surgical help…to look the way she does?

“We live in a strange time when getting plastic surgery is as common as dyeing your hair. But in my profession, I need a malleable face.”

She continued.

“Everyone has her line in the sand. I draw mine at facials and laser treatments. But if others want to go a step further, it’s their call.”

Wish we could all go further and look as great as Kate Walsh does when we get to be her age…

She tells the magazine:

“I feel like a loser [for not having kids]. I would definitely love to be a parent. But I definitely don’t think I want to do it on my own. I thought I’d be married and have three or four kids,” she admits. “I always knew I wanted to be an actress, but I think I always wanted a quote-unquote normal life.”

She also tells More that she refuses to diet and only hikes with her dog and does pilates. Pretty low maintenance for a Hollywood star, no?

Kate, 41 and hubby, Alex were married for only 15 months. Walsh’s husband Alex Young, 37 proposed to her after the couple dated for about two months; They got married within a few months.  Alex has filed for a divorce in late 2008. Alex is an executive at 20th Century Fox filed  making over a million a year and Kate makes about three million a year.

Irreconcilable differences.  That’s what the paperwork says.  And supposedly the couple have been separated since before Thanksgiving, meaning their marriage lasted a whole 14 months.  Kate’s PR Rep said via ET Online!:

“Papers have been filed to amicably end the marriage of executive Alex Young and actress Kate Walsh. The couple remain on friendly terms and sincerely hope the media will respect their privacy during this difficult time.”

Friendly terms?  I doubt it.  When will the dirt come out about the reality of Kate and Alex’s breakup?  Who cheated on who first?
