According to Janet’s reps, the singer had no choice but to cancel her 8 pm performance at the Sydney Opera House due to vocal cord issues, issuing a statement to disappointed concert-goers at 7:40 pm which read:

“It is with regret that Dainty Group announces that tonight’s Janet Jackson Number Ones: Up Close and Personal concert at the Sydney Opera House cannot proceed. Doctors have ordered Miss Jackson to undertake vocal rest for the next two days, so she can complete the third and final show of her Australian tour this Tuesday night at the Sydney Opera House.”

This incident comes on the heels of several other celebrity entertainers who are now out of commission due to throat conditions that’ve occurred within the last two months, ranging from simple hospital emergency room visits to actual surgery, star news reports.

First came John Mayer who had to have surgery to remove a granuloma from his vocal cords; followed by Adele who’s scheduled to go under the knife to remedy vocal cord hemorrhage that’s rumored to have progressed to throat cancer; then Marie Osmond was rushed to the emergency room in the middle of a Sin City performance for really bad bronchitis, and the most recent being country singer, Keith Urban who’s even now being prepped to have a polyp removed from his vocal cords.

Welcome to the club, Janet Jackson.

How many more of Hollywood’s warblers are going down from this throat epidemic that’s hit Tinseltown hard?

Nicole Kidman‘s husband is scheduled to have a polyp removed from his vocal cords, star news learned. And we’re wondering if there’s some kind of voice curse that’s been following celebrities around since October, given that Urban‘s the fourth case we’ve reported so far…

He follows in the footsteps of John Mayer (granuloma removal), Adele (vocal cord hemmorhage), and Marie Osmond (really bad bronchitis) who’ve been taken out of commission in the last two months for throat-related conditions…

“The surgery, an out-patient procedure, while minor, will require complete voice rest followed by an undetermined period of  recuperation,”

Urban‘s rep has said in a statement.

Is it just us, or are music-makers these day going under the knife in drives to preserve their pipes? Either the mass number is merely a coincidence, or there must be a very serious outbreak of throat illness going around in Hollywood.

Faith Margaret was born on December 28th at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. Their rep released this statement:

“Our family is truly blessed, and just so thankful, to have been given the gift of baby Faith Margaret. No words can adequately convey the incredible gratitude that we feel for everyone who was so supportive throughout this process, in particular our gestational carrier.”

Perhaps that’s why the couple decided to go on Oprah and gush about one another. For starters, Keith thanks Nicole for easing him out of drug addiction, and forcing him into rehab.

“It was really a profound moment in so many ways. Then, the way in which Nic handled that moment was just perfect,” Keith says. “Everything was just designed, I believe, for that moment to fuse us together.”At first, Keith says he questioned whether he should go to rehab so soon after getting married. “[I thought], ‘Surely let’s give it a few years so we’ve got some solidity, because this kind of thing could tear us apart,’” Keith says. “‘This could just destroy us.’”

Ultimately, he decided it was time to get help. Keith left the same night as the intervention for treatment. “I just said, ‘I don’t want to do anything but go,’” he says. “I didn’t care about anything else.”

The two continue on the lovefest with a love letter that Keith shares to his wife and the studio audience. Aw.

Nicole and husband Keith Urban have daughter Sunday Rose who will turn 1 in July.  It is very feasible that Nicole is three or four months pregnant.  And she is past 40, so she wouldn’t want to wait much longer anyhow to have a baby.

And maybe Nicole and Keith are trying to get one up on ex Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, who are said to be trying for another one now.  How sweet would that be for Nicole to get something done faster than Tom.  And no matter what he says, you know he wants another ‘perfect’ super smart, gifted baby like Suri first!

Study the pictures carefully.  They are all from the last three weeks or so.  Does Nicole look pregnant to you?

Nicole Richie is pregnant, Halle Berry is trying and now it looks like Nicole Kidman is sporting a baby bump.  All three have babies under a year old…but for Kidman and Berry, the biological clock is tick-tocking away.  Kidman had Sunday Rose only in July, so these babies would be close together if she was.

Nicole was spotted with Hugh Jackman at a movie premier cradling her abdomen.  What woman stands like that if she isn’t pregnant?

Instead, they say they will release them for free, when they choose to do so.  They think it’s ridiculous what stars have done recently to up the ante for baby picture deals according to celebitchy.

But other sources who heard the story claim BS.  They said the Kidman/Urban camp was shopping around the pictures and wanted a high price tag no one was willing to meet.  Instead of getting a lower price, they pulled out of all talks.  How can they get a lower price than what Suri or Shiloh got for their pictures??

Which tale do you believe?  They aren’t selling her or they couldn’t get a high enough price?

Sunday Rose came from two different parts of Nicole and Keith’s lives. Rose was Keith’s late grandmother’s name. Sunday is after a woman named Sunday Reed, who was a muse for an artist in Australia at the beginning of the 1900s. They chose the two because it was a beautiful name.

Other sources are claiming that Sunday was a dig at ex-husband and Scientologist Tom Cruise – since Sunday wasn’t a big deal to him. Nicole was – or is – Catholic and regained her sense of spirituality after the divorce with Tom. The name is beautiful, but a little dig. Which tale do you believe?

She was born early Monday morning and named her Sunday Rose Kidman Urban. That’s quite a mouthful! Baby on Monday named Sunday…interesting.  Mom and baby, who weighed 6 pounds and 7 ounces, are both doing wonderful.

Congratulations!

If Nicole had checked in on Friday, would she have been named Friday?  Tuesday?  Do you like the name or is it a little out there?  I like the Rose part, but Sunday?  Not so much…

As for where Kidman and Urban, 40, who will be a first-time parent, may bring up their impending arrival, the couple, though both from Down Under, purchased a farm near Leipers Fork, Tenn., a half-hour southwest of Nashville, in 2007 – as reports by People magazine.

Wow Kidman is that much taller than Urban. Doesn’t their height difference reminds you of Kidman & Cruise?

Kidman suffered a second miscarriage in 2001. The miscarriage happened one month after she filed for divorce from Tom.  She said after that incident: ‘It was dark – and deeply lonely. I felt panic and absolute fear about my future.’

Kidman went on to say ‘There’s a complicated background to that, given that I never speak much about many things. One day maybe that story will be told.’

Kidman is opening up about her past relationship with Cruise! It’s never too joyful to talk about a breakup, is it?

Hopefully she has found her lifetime happiness with her new hubby, Keith Urban.
