Hollywood news has learned that “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” star KRISTEN BELL had a meltdown and broke down crying on her 31st birthday last July… over a sloth!

Seriously!

Kristen apparently has a soft—as in cry hysterically in the fetal position type of soft—spot for sloths. You know, those cute little tree-dwelling animals? Because when her fiancee, Dax Shepard, arranged for her to have one at her birthday party, the actress broke down and started bawling her eyes out in her room… out of sheer excitement and happiness.

And she hadn’t even seen it yet.

Kristen appeared on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” this week and shared the home video of her crying uncontrollably because of Dax’s super sweet birthday surprise.

It’s kind of a strange reaction, but it’s also adorable… and funny!

KRISTEN BELL On Fiance DAX SHEPARD: We Consider Ourselves Married Already

“Heroes” actress KRISTEN BELL told star news she and fiance DAX SHEPARD already consider themselves married.

Well, if it saves them the expense of having to go through a ceremony and the reception afterwards, then good for them.

The pair, who’ve been dating for nearly five years, and have been engaged for a year, have been keeping a low profile of late, despite Bell, 31 having five movie and two television projects slated to be released this year…perhaps to mask the fact that Shepard, 37, has none? (the “Punk’d” actor was last seen in “Brother’s Justice” in 2010)…

But Bell, who starred in “Forgetting Sarah Marshall,” claims she doesn’t want a wedding as she thinks planning her big day would be “too much stress.”

“I don’t want a wedding. It’s too much stress.”

She told Vegas Magazine.

Although we’re thinking the stress would be focused on her own wallet and bank account, no less.

“I come from a very traditional household. For a while, I thought a marriage certificate was important, but the older I get, the more I see how little it means.”

We can interpret that statement both ways: either Kristen Bell has become disillusioned over the shelf life of the average Hollywood marriage…or, on the other hand, she may simply be protecting her assets.

“We’re just not having a wedding, so there’s no story to report there. I mean, we’re still getting married, but we’re going to do it whenever we feel like it. The fact that he asked me to marry him is of a little more importance than me planning a party.”

So somebody give Dax Shepard a film project already…he has a party to plan…

KRISTEN BELL and DAX SHEPARD are officially the cutest red carpet couple at the 2011 Do Something Awards. Seriously, they are so sweet together!

Kristen and Dax were absolutely adorable as they posed for pictures on the “red” carpet at the Hollywood Palladium yesterday—they even shared a kiss in front of the photographers!

Most celebrity gossip websites agree that these two are totally the “Cutest Red Carpet Couple” for this awards show. However, their outfits are a different story.

Far from cute.

Kristen’s black and silver one-shoulder Etro dress is just really unpleasant to look at—it’s like a modern tribal outfit of some sort! Not that there’s anything wrong with tribal outfits, of course.

And also, what’s up with the bag? Ick.

Dax, meanwhile, is just blah in a gray sweatshirt, brown pants, and a black porkpie hat. He looks like he’s going out to run some errands or something.

Okay, enough with the fashion review.

Kristen, 29, we all know Kristen for her role on “Heroes“. Dax Shepard has starred on several TV series namely “My Name is Earl” and ”Punk’d“. Dax will be starring on NBC’s forthcoming ”Parenthood“. As for movies, The happy couple co-star in “When in Rome“, a romantic comedy now playing in theaters.

Kristen and Dax have been dating since 2007. Shepard has previously been linked to Jessica Simpson and Kate Hudson before Bell.

Kristen Bell admits to an inner lesbian in a recent interview with Health magazine. Kristen Bell is currently coupled up with comedian Dax Shephard, but that hasn’t stopped her from lusting after other women — especially after filming the movie Burlesque with Christina Aguilera.

She told the magazine (via The Superficial.com):

“I have never felt so much good female energy around me. I find that I can’t take my eyes off them. I’m 99 percent sure I will leave this movie a lesbian.”

And who are her fitness role models?

“I love Madonna arms. I think women who look strong are breathtaking. I [lift] buckets [for the shoulders]–the shoulder is the key to making your arm look really well-rounded…I do three sets of biceps and three sets of triceps, that’s what works for me. My boyfriend doesn’t love it [if I] get too muscular, but if I had my way, I would look like Angela Bassett.“

Wow. Kristen is a light beer away from going home with a nice, friendly stranger at the lady bar! Who knew?

Bell’s acting career began when she went for her first audition at the age of 11 and got herself a dual role as a banana and a treein a suburban Detroit theater’s production of Raggedy Ann and Andy. Since then she’s been on Broadway, starred in various small parts on TV before gaining recognition starring in the hit tv show, Veronica Mars from September, 2004 till May 2007. Since 2007, her acting career has picked up tremendously with her joining the cast of Heroes playing Elle Bishop, and Gossip Girl as the titular narrator. Kristen has also acted in movies namely Forgetting Sarah Marshal.

You can forget about Sarah Marshall but you just can’t forget about Kristen Bell, her career has been rocketing ahead. She’s joined the Heroes cast since July 2007 and her acting career has just been nothing else but uphill. But according to the humble beauty, she’s never really have a problem in public. Despite “new celebrity” status, Bell claims that she is not concerned because “no one ever recognizes [her] anyway”. As Bell explains, “I hang out with Hayden (Hayden Panettiere) quite a bit—they never take pictures of me. I just step to the side, and I push myself in front of her when she wants to get out of it, or put her in the car.”

I find that very hard to believe, I would definitely recognize Kristen if I were to bump into her, wouldn’t you?

Bell, of “Heroes,” “Gossip Girl” and “Veronica Mars,” stars in the heavily marketed “Forgetting Sarah Marshall,” which incidentally shows her co-star Jason Segal, ah, totally nude several times. And to support Segal’s daring role, our “Hero” donned a tell-all T-shirt.

“The costume designer made T-shirts that had the statue of David on the front, so we all had you-know-whats on the front of our shirts and had little sayings on the back like, ‘Keep it up, Jas!’ We tried to be as supportive as we could,” Bell said. “We weren’t allowed to laugh.”
