Remember the ’90s? All those drool-worthy boy bands who could induce bloodcurdling screams from girls simply by crooning catchy pop songs and performing perfectly choreographed dance moves?

Well, Lance wants to bring them back. He recently announced that he sold six shows to VH1, and one of them will be a new reality show that’s going to put the spotlight back on some of the guys from those boy bands we used to love. Lance says:

“It’s a really great music show, starring all your favorite boy bands… It’s going to be really fun.”

So who’s going to be featured in Lance’s upcoming show? The former boy band member confirms that the reality show will feature A.J. McLean of The Backstreet Boys, Joey Fatone of *NSYNC, Joey McIntyre of New Kids on the Block, and possibly Bobby Brown of New Edition.

Lance explains:

“They’re all going to form a boy band, each, from the most talented guys in America that I’ve scouted, and then they’ll go head-to-head in a competition to see who the best band is.”

He adds:

“It’s bragging rights for the guy in the group, for sure.”

Lance started his own film production company, Bacon & Eggs, in 2000. In 2005, he started a television production company called Lance Bass Productions.

Bass once wanted to be an astronaut and was certified by both NASA and the Russian Space Program after several months of cosmonaut training. He wanted to ride on the Russian space mission but the plan fell through when his financial backers failed to come up with the $20 million necessary to board.

In July 2006, Bass revealed that he is gay in a cover story for People magazine. In September, 2008, Lance tells People that he’s happy for Clay Aiken coming out of the closet as being gay.

“I’m happy for him,” says Bass, 29. “It’s good to see someone actually being true to who they are. I think it’s something that’s nice to share with the world, because it really does relieve a lot of pressure off of you.”

Bass adds that he believes Aiken will “live his life the way he wants to live it and that’s the best advice I can give him.”
