Last year, she dyed the ends of her hair peach, and in January she went with a subtle, cotton candy pink—unconventional colors, but still very wearable.

But earlier this week, Conrad took a small step outside her comfort zone and went with a very bold color—hot pink! The former reality star tweeted a photo of her new hair color, which she captioned:

“My Little (pink) Pony!”

Obviously, Lauren’s no stranger to colorful hair… but the hot pink kind of seems like something better suited on pop stars like Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, or Nicki Minaj.

Lauren Conrad, former star of MTV’s hit reality show “The Hills,” is currently making a career in fashion now that reality TV is pretty much out of the question… but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have what it takes to be on TV anymore.

Or to pose half-naked on magazine covers, for that matter.

However, despite her enviable physique, the blonde beauty admits that she too has hang-ups about her body—just like every single woman out there.

Lauren tells Glamour:

“On the vacation to Cabo, I wore a bathing suit on the beach for the first time in years. Usually I’m just petrified. A couple of years ago someone zoomed in on my cellulite and it was so mean. I took it really personally.”

She continues:

“I haven’t worn a bathing suit in L.A. in years because of that.”

So how did she overcome her body issues? Lauren explains:

“I haven’t met a woman without insecurities. You just have to learn to play up the positives.”

Lauren, who recently dyed her hair pink, went back to blonde for her 26th birthday in Vegas. The former reality star looked adorable in a sleeveless, figure-hugging electric blue sequined dress, which she paired with plain black pumps.

A high ponytail and natural makeup completed Lauren’s birthday girl look.

Lauren isn’t a stranger to color. The Paper Crown designer isn’t shy about incorporating some color into her glossy blonde hair. Last July, she went through two hair “breakovers” (first, vibrant pink, blue and turquoise-dipped ends, and then light blue streaks for a red carpet event) after calling things off with her beau of three years, Kyle Howard.

And Lauren isn’t the only one—there are a number of celebrities who like to re-use their outfits, such as future Queen of England Kate Middleton, current First Lady Michelle Obama, and even style icon and fashion designer Victoria Beckham!

In a recent interview with FabSugar.com, Lauren admits:

“During holiday parties I end up recycling a lot of my cocktail dresses, and just wearing a layering piece, like a blazer and tights, with it.”

Lauren is the designer of Paper Crown, a fashion line of skirts, tops and dresses that are perfect for the holidays. She shares:

“When I was designing, I was really keeping in mind the types of things you do during these months,” she explains. “You’re going to a lot of holiday parties, and you want to look festive and still put together. So we had a lot of fun with that,”

Lauren and Chace? Really?

Lauren, who initially rebounded from ex Kyle Howard with Derek Hough, is now rebounding with Chace. The two were spotted “making out” at a nightclub in L.A. on October 29, which of course sparked rumors that there was something brewing between them.

But is there? A source tells Us Weekly:

“There’s always been an attraction between them… [But] Lauren is just enjoying herself. She’s not taking anything too seriously!”

The blonde reality star from “The Hills” and her blonder “DTWS” dancer have been rumored to be dating since early this month, only three months after Lauren was dumped by Robert de Niro-loving boyfriend, Kyle Howard.

Lauren and Derek haven’t made their relationship officially public in any statement to the press, but their body language points toward the very obvious…these two are definitely dating, if not bumping pelvises already.

“It was obvious there was a lot of chemistry between the two,”

a witness revealed.

“She was very smitten. Neither seemed embarrassed about kissing in public.”

It’s still the early days for Lauren and Derek, but just as we’re resigned to waiting for Jessica Simpson who’s taking her own sweet time to officially announce her pregnancy, we’ll let these two enjoy the molten heat of their smoldering companionship first before coming clean to the press.

Lauren posted a photo of her newly-dyed peach locks on her website, thebeautydepartment.com, along with the caption:

“Majority rules!!!!! Thank you guys for taking the time to vote. XOXO!”

Apparently, the former reality star asked her website visitors to vote on whether or not she should dye the tips of her hair peach, and majority of them said “yes.”

So why did she do it? Lauren explained:

“I had always wanted to try something a little crazy with my hair and, with the help of your votes, decided to go for it!  While my fun do was short lived (I only kept the color for a week before returning to my blonde locks), I was happy to cross it off my list of to-dos. So it seemed that my days of dying my hair unnatural shades were through… but I was wrong!  I have been bitten my (sic) the color bug once again! I first saw these orange streaks on the runway and thought they would be so pretty toned down a bit.”

Is Lauren trying to start a new hair trend in Hollywood? Celebrity gossip websites have seen celebrities with hair that’s been dyed pink, turquoise, blue, purple—but never peach!

Rumors started flying around about Lauren and Colton after the two were seen together at a party last month—which was where they first exchanged phone numbers—and then once again when they went to a club together. A source claims:

“She was into him, and vice versa.”

The potential couple was spotted hanging out at Trousdale in West Hollywood with Lauren’s ex, Kyle, as well as her former ‘The Hills’ co-star Lo Bosworth, and actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler.

Despite the presence of her rumored squeeze, Lauren reportedly acted a little too friendly with Kyle, whom she broke up with last June. An eyewitness says:

“[Kyle and Lauren] looked really close and still very friendly… You wouldn’t be able to tell that they were supposedly broken up? In any case, they are definitely friendly exes.”

According to Us Weekly, the main thing that drove Kyle and Lauren apart was her reality TV background. Kyle reportedly loved his girlfriend, but didn’t feel the same way about her old show, ‘The Hills.’

A source says:

“He saw the relationship as distracting from his goal of being the next Robert De Niro… He wasn’t supportive of her career.”

Kyle was never around at Lauren’s career-related events, and he didn’t really like spending time with her friends. The source confirms:

“All of her friends can count on one hand the amount of times they’ve seen him.”

Kyle and Lauren called it quits last week after three years together. The source shares:

“Lauren is heartbroken… She wants to be married and have kids.”

According to the latest Hollywood gossip news, the split was completely mutual and there was no third party involved.

Conrad, 24, the reality star turned fashion designer and best selling author is now writing for Forbes magazine! She started her first column last Monday as “Celebrepreneur.”

So what was the problem? LC thinks MTV wanted another Hills-like show centering around her love life and she wanted a career-based show about her fashion line. She released this statement:

“We sold a show to MTV, filmed it and are really proud of the final result. MTV felt the subject matter was too high brow for their audience and offered me the opportunity to change the show by incorporating more of my personal life. We agreed going into the project that this show would be an aspirational one, focusing on my career and my goals and not my personal relationships. We delivered the show that we sold and are sorry MTV didn’t feel their viewers were savvy enough to appreciate it.”

Ouch! Maybe she should try Bravo. Wait…

It was hilarious – in a train wreck kind of a way – but it isn’t surprising that Lynn has issued an apology statement.

“I am sincerely sorry for the negative things I said in the heat of the moment. As a mother, there is no pain in this world like seeing your children upset. I am so proud of my daughter and all she has accomplished on Dancing with the Stars. I was extremely emotional after her elimination — it just came as such a shock. I want to apologize for offending anyone.”

Ha and ha. At least we get to see more of Lynn on her new reality show with Audrina set to air on VH-1.

Lauren is in the fashion world and has two books out as well. But are they popular or any good? From MTV:

Among the 24-year-old fashion maven’s friends featured in the new program are Maura, her roommate, and Gary, who fans might remember from his time on MTV’s short-lived reality series “Styl’D.”

Expect Gary and Maura to play integral roles on the new show, which is still in its early stages. “I don’t know [what will happen], ’cause we haven’t started filming yet,” Conrad explained to MTV News. “So stay tuned! But my roommate and one of my best friends is running the company, the business end, and another one of my good friends, Gary, is doing kind of the creative direction.”

OK, so it is another fashion reality show.  If the fashion could back talk or add drama, I might be excited. But it doesn’t. Are you looking forward to Lauren’s new show?

While she was mum about what the show would center around, she assured reporters it wouldn’t be like The Hills.

“It’ll be something very different,” the fashion designer said on Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show, adding that the show would follow her “career.” She stressed that her beau, actor Kyle Howard, “will not be on it…If I was going to do a reality show, it’ll probably start in October,” she said.

“I’ve always been open to doing reality again,” she said. “Just under different circumstances. As long as you have a separation, then it works.  You have your personal life and you have work life; when it’s combined, it’s difficult.”

She misses the mark because she didn’t write the book! Now, Lauren can’t be blamed for that, because most Hollywood types hire ghostwriters for their books, she was just following suit.

Sure, everyone knows that Conrad doesn’t actually design her clothing collection for Kohl’s. And that her fiction books are ghostwritten by one writer or another. But to give advice on personal style when yours is so limited? That makes us a little uncomfortable.

Conrad may be gorgeous. And she might wear (arguably) cute clothes. But someone is telling her what to wear. And how to wear it. The big takeaway from a recent People StyleWatch interview is that Conrad suggests taking your clothes to a tailor for a more precise fit. Revolutionary.

Ouch. Hopefully Lauren has thick skin so the rash of negative comments that will certainly come out closer to her book release won’t sting. Do you think Lauren has enough experience to write a style guide or should she have waited?

This is Lauren’s second book. Her first L.A. Candy flared really well and is to be turned into a movie. At 24, Lauren is a smart girl, she’s got Reality TV shows on her resume, a fashion line and two books published. Amazing.

Conrad doesn’t talk about Heidi Montag’s plastic surgery when asked. She said “It’s personal Choice” and “It’s a look” – very diplomatic comment. Lauren seems to have a good head, leaving The Hills when she’s on top and now being a successful writer at 24. Bravo girl!

“I knew back back then [that] I was being cheated on,” she admits in the March issue of Seventeen magazine (via usmagazine.com). “I overlooked it.” Not any more. “The more confident me has come to the point where I’ve finally realized it’s not something that everyone does. It’s not okay to have your guy hook up with someone else. You deserve more.”

Lauren also tells the magazine that many of her best friends weren’t featured on the MTV show.

“Most of my closest friends were never on the show; my family was rarely on…It’s not normal to put every part of your personal life on camera. You have to have something for yourself or you’ll go crazy.”
