Mandy Moore is getting a new pair of conventional parents to play as her mom and dad in her first comedy series, ABC’s “Us And Them.” Stockard Channing will be playing the “A Walk To Remember” star’s nurturing and occasionally bossy mom while Kurt Fuller will be playing the goody-goody dad who often lets his wife take charge.

Knowing what a very versatile actress Mandy is, she’s bound to give us a good laugh as she plays the young wife who, along with her onscreen husband, has to deal with both their families coming together as one.

The show will be directed by “Night At The Museum” director Shawn Levy and “Wedding Crasher” director Bob Fischer is in charge of the comedic script.

Now the other crucial parts of the cast is filled, who do you think should play as Mandy‘s on screen husband?

As a pop singer? A bitchy cheerleader? A ridiculously long-haired animated character? So what gives?

As it turns out, the short-short-haired and clearly more mature Dakota Fanning will be playing the role of a 17-year-old British girl who decides to carpe diem, quit her treatment for leukemia and spend the rest of her life doing whatever she likes, ala “The Bucket List,” before she passes away.

Ah, yes. The former child star from “I Am Sam” and vampy antagonist from “Twilight” will be channeling Mandy Moore when she famously portrayed an equally sick yet enthusiastic cancer patient in “A Walk To Remember.” And with an on-screen kiss with her on-screen neighbor too, played by Jeremy Irvine from “War Horse”!

Dakota transforms into basically any character, but we wish that as she mimics the virginal and annoyingly-sweet Jamie Sullivan in her new role and make us cry buckets in the process, she does it with a little more spunk.

Yay or nay?

Mandy’s outfit wasn’t anything special (she wore a simple black Lela Rose dress with a lace yoke, which she paired with black peep-toe pumps and a black clutch), but her hairstyle was a different story. The singer opted to wear her brunette locks in a milkmaid braid updo, which seems to be all the rage in Hollywood today.

Truthfully, we’re not loving Mandy’s take on the popular hairstyle. It kind of looks severe on her (it usually looks better with a few face-framing tendrils hanging out), plus we don’t think it matches her outfit.

In order to get her nerves in order, Mandy employed a hypnotherapist to calm her nerves. After the session Moore entered the Los Angeles stage and gazed upon the 280-member audience and told them:

“It is the most bizarre situation you can imagine. It’s almost like therapy.”

No word on whether or not this transformed her mediocre music. If so, Nick Lachey should have this hypnotherapist on speed dial.

However, according to Page Six Mandy posted her favorite tunes to Tonic.com and Ryan’s music was suspisciously absent. Instead she had tunes by Whatever It Is” by Ben Lee and “Blue Ridge Mountain” by Fleet Foxes.

Mandy reunited with Ryan only a month ago, after they had split last summer.  They rekindled after Mandy got back together for a brief stint with DJ AM after his plane crash in September.  Rolling Stone says:

Ryan Adams and singer-actress Mandy Moore were secretly married yesterday in Savannah, Georgia, reps for both told Us Weekly. Adams and Moore announced their engagement in February 2009 after an on-off romance that began in March 2008. Moore recently told Us she wanted a quiet wedding, saying, “Hopefully, it can happen and slip by unnoticed by everybody. I guess we have to be sort of sneaky about it, but I’ll see what I can accomplish.”

She accomplished it!  No one would have ever suspected a Wednesday afternoon.  In Savannah.  Only a month after being engaged.  Congratulations!

Now who has the details about the dress and the party?  And how soon will the pregnant rumors be floating about?

Mandy had been cozy with DJ Adam for a few months in the fall, but their reconcile didn’t last.  But Mandy kept it secret she had gone back to Ryan!  From People Magazine:

Mandy Moore will tie the knot with her musician beau Ryan Adams, her publicist confirms to PEOPLE.

Details on the engagement weren’t immediately available. Moore, 24, and Adams, 34, had dated off-and-on since March 2008.

Moore, who supported close pal and ex-boyfriend DJ AM in the wake of his plane crash, has also been linked to musician Greg Laswell, tennis star Andy Roddick, and actors Zach Braff and Wilmer Valderrama.

Wow!  That’s quite a black book of names.  You go girl!  And congratulations.  Hopefully this reconcile will last a lot longer than the previous one.

Somehow DJ AM is a hot piece in the L.A. scene because he’s already scored a new girl. The 35-year-old is dating 22-year-old American Apparel model Hayley Wood. See, that just seems scuzzy. Once guys graduate into the land of 35 and higher methinks it’s time to date someone who’s been able to drink for a good five years and can rent a car.

Just sayin’.

Mandy Moore has been spotted at UFC fights supporting Georges St. Pierre.  Lainey Gossip says that she cheered for him and was obviously smitten – and they also have pictures of the event.  She didn’t miss her grungy, hairy rocker man for to long.  Oops, they hadn’t broken up yet at that fight.

St. Pierre currently holds the title for the welterweight division champion.  He’s a good pick.  UFC fighters attract the women…Tito Ortiz and Jenna Jameson, for example.

According to a source, Diaz, who is in New York filming the comedy What Happens in Vegas, and Mayer have known each other for awhile. “This was technically not their first time hanging out…they’ve hung out together with friends before. Isn’t Mayer seeing Mandy Moore? As for Diaz, the latest Hollywood gossip is linking her to Jude Law. Hmmm. No lonely souls in Hollywood!

Do you see Mayer and Moore dating? For all we know, they could just be friends but in La La land, you go for lunch with the opposite sex, you are having sex. That’s the crap you have to deal with as a star but with that hefty pay check, who cares right?

Forget about their dating for now.. Could someone get some fashion sense in Mandy? Hello, Miss, are you forgetting you’re  a celebrity?
