What about our favorite curvy Avenger, Scarlett Johansson here who’s channeling the sex icon in a Dolce & Gabanna ad. Scarlett‘s had a spot of trouble with some hacked nude pics that’ve gone viral recently. Didn’t Marilyn pose nude at the start of her career, too?

And here’s down-on-her-luck Lindsay Lohan, who may have thought posing as Marilyn in her nudest best for photographer Bert Stern in New York magazine would give her flagging career a jumpstart. Too bad she loves partying more…

Eerily enough, Anna Nicole Smith, posing here for a PETA campaign, went out like a light just like Marilyn did – from a drug overdose. And both their deaths were the subject of much press, scandal, and top secret intrigue…

Hmmm…Christina Aguilera borrowed a bit of Marilyn for her Royal Desire perfume ad. We’re not so sure about this one. Both of them have chests to beat, but only one features a powerful set of lungs…

Also, while we lust after Angelina Jolie‘s pillow lips and the erotic promise in her eyes, we just can’t see her as Marilyn in this Douglas Kirkland photograph. For one thing, she’s too bony. For another, she likes blood and knives… *shudder*

Uh…Paris Hilton did “Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend” for her flop of a film, “The Hottie And The Nottie”. How far from Marilyn can you actually get?

Way back in 2008, Nicole Kidman did a Marilyn cover for Harper’s Bazaar for their 10th anniversary issue. We’re thinking maybe more curves around the chest area?

And here’s Kate Moss for New York Magazine in 2009, doing an au naturel Marilyn…only we think she looks more like a sleepy and washed out Brigitte Bardot to us:

Whether she looks it or not, celebrity news noted Oscar-nominated Michelle has put some work into becoming the blonde bombshell who believed “diamonds are a girl’s best friend.”

“I’d go to bed every night with a stack of books next to me,”

Michelle admitted.

“And I’d fall asleep to movies of her. It was like when you were a kid and you’d put a book under your pillow hoping you’d get it by osmosis.”

Will that help Michelle Williams get by on doing a credible representation of the incomparable Marilyn? For one, Williams doesn’t have Marilyn‘s more rotund body structure and soft facial contours. For another Monroe‘s 50′s glamour is a tough act to follow, given that there existed a hint of soulfulness in her eyes that hinted at inner vulnerability.

Let’s hope Michelle Williams has was it takes to living la vida Marilyn when the film finally sees theaters this October.

Most of us are aware of the fact that Megan is such a fan of Marilyn Monroe that she decided to get the iconic actress’ face tattooed on her arm. However, it has been fading recently, and in a recent interview with Amica magazine, Megan explains why:

“It’s a negative character, as [Marilyn Monroe] suffered from personality disorders and was bipolar… I do not want to attract this kind of negative energy in my life.”

But this isn’t the first time Megan paid tribute to a famous person by getting something done to her body, and then having it removed later on. The heavily tattooed “Transformers” actress admits to getting her navel pierced back when she was in her teens, as homage to her favorite pop star, Britney Spears. She says:

“I did it when I was 16-years-old because I was a fan of Britney Spears. The only time I tried to imitate someone else. But then I thought it was tacky so I removed it when I turned 20.”

Thank goodness she’s ditching the Marilyn tattoo—now that was tacky.

Remember Marily Monroe in her white dress, standing over a subway vent and getting her skirt blown up? Well, that’s exactly what happened to Taylor—except that her dress was blue.

The adorable country singer gave fans their money’s worth and then some when the skirt of her dress accidentally flew up—thanks to a wind machine—and exposed her panties for every single audience member to see!

Taylor was performing “You Belong With Me” when the embarrassing moment occurred—and she didn’t even stop singing when it happened. Like a pro, Taylor simply pushed down her skirt and went on with the performance.

Oh, and in case you were wondering, her panties were flesh-colored.

Marilyn is sitting around with friends, and is passed the joint. She giggles and passes it to another after taking a hit. From Popeater:

An old home video has surfaced of Marilyn Monroe, in which the legendary actress appears to be smoking marijuana.

According to the Huffington Post, the video is 50 years old. The home movie shows another person pass what looks like a joint to the Monroe, who is giggling, and she smokes it.

Interesting piece of history. Did you know they had pot at that time? We thought we’ll put some photos of Lindsay Lohan and Megan Fox in the gallery, no particular relevance except Lindsay channeled Marilyn and redid one of her famous photos shoots last year. She also says she worshipped Marilyn. Megan has a huge tattoo of Marilyn on her arm, plus she admits to smoking pot.

Birkhead attended an auction over the weekend where Marilyn Monroe’s lingerie was auctioned off. Larry won two pieces and was extremely happy about it. He said he wanted to have a piece of something for Dannielynn to remember her mother by.  According to E! he paid $1800 for a pink bustier and $1,000 for a white negligee.  Money well spent?

Ahhh, isn’t Anna Nicole Smith her mother? Not Marilyn Monroe. Why would Marilyn’s underwear remind Dannielynn of her mother? Who knows…Anna Nicole copied Marilyn, but she never shared underwear as far as I know. Weird or not?

A New York-based businessman paid the six-figure sum for the tape which is said to be a copy of the original film still held by the FBI.

The footage appears to have been shot in the 1950s. When it came to light in the mid-’60s, then-FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover had his agents spend two weeks futilely trying to prove that Monroe’s sex partner was either John F. Kennedy or Robert F. Kennedy, according to declassified agency documents and interviews, Morgan said.
The silent black-and-white flick shows Monroe on her knees in front of a man whose face is just out of the shot. – NY Post
