Zac looks toned, tanned, fit and, well, friggin’ hot in the poster…no wonder Nicole Kidman‘s practically leering at him. This does bring to mind the on-screen May-December romance she had going with Joaquin Phoenix in “To Die For” in 1995…only this time with a younger, more macho Zac Efron. We love the way the Zacster has moved away from his squeaky-clean Disney image, we’re literally drooling…

The thriller, directed by Lee Daniels, who also helmed “Precious, is set in he 1960′s  and is about a newspaper reporter working to free an innocent man on death row. The film also stars Matthew McConaughey and John Cusack.

We can barely see newly-engaged McConaughey on the other side of the car…ditto John Cusack…but his eyes, they are menacing! Is he playing the guy on death row? *shudder*

We can’t wait for 2012 to get a load of this movie…

Matthew has finally popped the question to his girlfriend and baby mama, Camila Alves. The hunky actor and the gorgeous Brazilian model have been dating since 2006, and despite the fact that they have two children together (their three-year-old son Levi and one-year-old daughter Vida), the couple has repeatedly told celebrity gossip websites that they have no plans to get hitched.

Guess that wasn’t set in stone, then.

McConaughey himself announced the news on his WhoSay account. He said:

“just asked camila to marry me, merry Christmas.”

What a nice Christmas gift.

Matthew has been known for being open and honest in everything he does, so why not when he is romancing his significant other?

It was truly a star-studded event at Wednesday’s night’s Heart Truth’s Red Dress Collection show to kick off Fashion Week at Lincoln Center. With a star-only roster of models in stunning scarlet dresses (below) by a pantheon of designers, the front row fans included Matthew McConaughey (supporting girlfriend Camila Alves in Kaufman Franco), Bill Rancic (cheering on wife Giuliana Rancic in Marchesa) and Susan Sarandon (applauding for daughter Eva Amurri in Chris Benz).

Lots of great women showed up for this event it seems. And Matthew was rumored to have loved Camila’s sexy dress and that he couldn’t keep his hands off her backstage. Sweet or gag? But whatever they do, it seems to be working since they look and act happy!

Things can get quite dangerous when performing your own stunts. Take Matthew McConaughey as the perfect example, he was seen on the set of his new movie with a bandaged rib cage in Los Angeles, California on Tuesday, August 17th, 2010.

Photographers noticed the actor needed help getting up from a golf cart from production crew while shooting scenes from “The Lincoln Lawyer.”

Seriously, how many stunts do you need to do when you are playing a lawyer? What kind of lawyer is he anyway, one who runs from criminals or estranged spouses? Do you think Matthew’s injury is a prop or real?

This is what Matthew said happened after he presented at the awards the year before, via People Magazine:

he told the crowd that “after the show last year, my lady [Camila Alves] and I … went back to the hotel and conceived the little lady that is now our daughter.

He went on to say:

“I promise you, me and Camila are not going to try and get so lucky this year,” he said. “Two is enough!”

 Seriously, did we need to know when and where you conceived your children? Do you think this is endearing or gross? Camila looked mortified in the seats.

The adorable tike bounced around outside fully dressed before opting to go shirtless for the rest of play time! Levi is like a replica of Matthew, isn’t he? But I think Levi is cuter, sorry dad.

I think Levi will grow up to be a very handsome young man and he’ll probably be another chick flick king like his daddy. By the way, I love McConaughey‘s movies. Bravo little fellow, right now just stay cute!

It’s a Portuguese name. I think it’s cool they incorporated Camila’s heritage in to the naming process. From People Magazine:

Daughter Vida Alves McConaughey arrived Sunday, Jan. 3 at 12:13 a.m., Matthew announced on his Web site. She weighed in at 7 lbs., 7 oz and joins big brother Levi, 17 months.

” ‘Vida’ is Portuguese for ‘life’ and that’s what God gave us this morning,” the actor blogged. “Camila’s recovering wonderfully and we are both truly honored to welcome this little lady into our family. Thanks for all of your well wishes and prayers along the way, another blessed day, we give thanks.”

That’s so sweet. Fatherhood seems to really fit with Matthew. I’m a little surprised by it…are you?

Matthew has always been a bit of a rebel. Now it seems fatherhood is softening him up a bit and making him even more mellow. From Matthew’s website:

Matthew has told some whopper stories in the past.  Considering his mother revealed in an interview that his dad died during sex, it really isn’t surprising though.  This is what Matthew told OK! Magazine:

“From checking out Playboy I always thought — jeezum, we still don’t have a better word for it than vagina, do we? —I thought it was behind the pubic hair, and it faced horizontal. You know, east/west, not south,” he admits to Elle. “So the first time I got to third base, man, I was hunting for a long time.”

I wonder how many other men have this problem, but never admit it?  I bet more than we would originally guess…like thousands.  Who’s teaching the sex ed classes where they think that?

Matthew and Camilla have been out of the public eye since the birth of their son Levi.  Maybe they are fighting behind closed doors?  Last week they were at a party with many other people and it was going well, until Matthew had a snit about Camilla posing without him.  From Betty Confidential:

“At first it was great because the two of them couldn’t stop gushing about Levi.  They were showing friends all their latest photos of him.  When Camilla started posing for photos without him, Matthew flipped out.  He was upset and he told her that he didn’t want her taking pictures in the media without him.  It was pretty over the top!  He pulled her aside in the middle of photos to stop it.”

Well….put that controlling man in a closet and get the heck out!  Who needs jerks in their lives when they pull stunts like this.  She was a model before you Matthew, get a grip.  I give this couple two years, tops.  Unless he can manage to get her pregnant again.

The source swears, “Kitson will never work with her again,” especially after Alves refused to do an in-store appearance and instead promoted her bags at a competitor’s location. “That store bought four bags from her,” our insider fumed. “We bought dozens . . . A celebrity brand requires that the face behind the product work to sell it. Nobody has ever heard of her or her brand.”

Celebrity? Since when is Camila Alves a celebrity?! A slow news day is the only reason why searching for Camila pics and spellchecking her name.

Of coure the Camila camp says this is all a load of bullhooey. Her purses are selling wonderfully everywhere else. It must be something in the air at Kitson.

Kay McConaughey reveals a little bit too much of information we didn’t really need to know.  But it explains why Matthew – and his brother Rooster are the way they are.  Kay says she and her husband had sex every Monday before he went to work.  But one morning it went wrong…

He ended up dying.  Yeah, I’d say that went horribly wrong.  So, she called the paramedics because she knew he was dead.  And she says via INO:

“I was just so proud to show off my big old Jim McConaughey — and his gift.”

That means, she let the paramedics carry him out naked.  Get it…his gift???

It seems he proposed to her on the same day.  THAT is why the OK! Magazine baby picture deal included first dibs at possible wedding shots of the couple, because they knew of his ‘secret’ engagement. 

Celebitchy says: “The two are keeping the information under wraps for a while.”  They may want to make more money from what OK! is willing to pay, which is why the info is on the down low. 

If that is true, then congratulations!  I sense a beach wedding here!

Levi’s first exclusive pictures will be sold for $3 million dollars.  However, there is more to the deal than that.  OK! Magazine won the bid, but they also get his first Christmas pictures too.  And if ma and pa ever get hitched, they get first rights to the exclusive wedding photos – for another price, of course.

Did he get jipped?  Only $3 mil?  Brangelina babies’ pictures are said to be at $16 mil right now and the bidding war is still going on.  Dang, if I could have just found someone famous to have kids with…

The pair delivered a bouncing baby boy on Monday night at 7:22 pm.  He weighed 7 pounds, 4 oz.  Mom and baby are doing just great according to their rep.  Congratulations!!

No name has been released, but I hope it isn’t something like Yo Dude or Surfsup.  But considering that Matthew’s brother is called Rooster, we might be out of luck. 

So, what do you think it will be?  A ‘normal’ name or one that is way out there?

Check out the swarm of surfers who attack photographers, which was caught on tape by TMZ.  Matthew was not part of the pack who charged and pushed photographers around.  He was probably laughing though, as he drank his beer and strolled around with his pregnant girlfriend.

One person was punched and has a broken nose.  Police reports were filed and it will probably get ugly before it’s over.  Ahhh, the beauty of Hollywood stars and the beach!

UPDATE:  It did get uglier!  Security guards were hired for the private beach and a second smackdown occured, this time with much damaged photo equipment and police.  No word on arrests or reports…

As for Paris Hilton’s The Hottie & The Nottie, it has been nothing but a big box office disappointment.

Both Vince Vaughn and Paris Hilton have added mega-flops to their film resumes. Vaughn’s Wild West Comedy Show  opened at 962 locations, and averaged only $150 in tickets sold per location on Friday. Based on an $8 ticket price, that’s only 19 tickets at each theatre where the movie is showing. Wild West will limp to an estimated weekend of $433,000 or $450 per location.

Vaughn’s misguided vanity project, however, looks like a blockbuster compared to Paris Hilton’s Hottie & the Nottie. Debuting on 111 screens, it could only muster $76 per location on its opening day. That means that, on average, 10 people purchased a ticket to see this comic disaster at each theatre with the misfortune of having booked it. Hottie will sell only an anticipated $23,000 during the 3-day weekend for a $207 Per Theatre Average. That’s about 26 ticket buyers per location for Friday-Sunday. – Slashfilm
