The anniversary of Heath Ledger’s death is today. The actor was found dead in his NY apartment by a member of his household staff in a shocking discovery.  He was born on April 4, 1979.  Died, January 22, 2008.  RIP.

Heath received his first Oscar nomination on the first anniversary of his death.  His portrayal of the Joker in The Dark Knight earned him a best supporting actor nod.  Dark Knight received only technical nominations besides Heath’s acting nod.

Michelle Williams will not accept any awards on behalf of Heath Ledger. Not because Michelle doesn’t think he will win, but because no one has even talked to her about it!  Instead, there are several people who may accept a Golden Globe on his behalf.

Michelle was with Heath Ledger and they have a child together, but she has moved on.  That doesn’t mean she has forgotten Heath, but she’s moved on and letting his family deal with any potential awards he might win for his role as Joker in The Dark Knight movie this season.

Michelle Williams seems to be moving on and finding happiness.  She is reportedly dating a man that her friends and family like very much.

Michelle went in to hiding before The Dark Knight premiered, saying she couldn’t be around all of the hype regarding Heath Ledger and his death.   Very understandable.  But she does seem to be making progress in her love life, as she was spotted kissing someone outside of her apartment in NY.

Michelle Williams wishes she could just fade away in to the woodwork.  Except it won’t ever happen with her relationship with Heath Ledger and his sudden passing.

Stories were flying yesterday that Michelle was arguing with Heath Ledger’s father about the handling of Matilda’s inheritance.  And since they were arguing, she was supposed to be skipping out on the Dark Knight premier next month.  In reality, she was never going in the first place!

A Heath Ledger Memorial Scholarship has been created.  The announcement came at the Australian Actor’s Awards, since the scholarship will go towards struggling Australian actors.

According to People Magazine, it was announced that the goal is to award one actor per year a shot to make it big in Hollywood.  How they do that remains to be answered, as some of the details are still sketchy.  Michelle Williams – the former girlfriend and baby mama to Heath Ledger – has approved the project and is helping to fund it.  This would be a great memorial to the late actor.
