The French First Lady revealed to Vanity Fair magazine that she told Sarkozy at the start of their relationship about the racy pictures and warned him the revealing photos were sure to resurface.

Sarkozy’s response? “Oh, I like these! Can I have a copy?” the President said, according to Carla. – source

Carla married President Sarkozy in February, 2008.

She tells Vanity Fair in her latest interview: ”It’s not that I had a lot of lovers. It’s that I never hide them. It’s a different thing. I have not had one day of regret.” Of Jagger, she said: “I called him last week. I have a very good relationship with exes… I’m always good friends with their wives,” although she admitted that Hall is the exception to the rule.

Asked if her husband minded “all these other guys walking around in your life”, Bruni replied: “They are not really walking around. They are just walking around in my heart.”

Bruni enjoyed a colorful life before meeting the President and her past lovers include Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger, who was married to Jerry Hall at the time.

Bruni also says she want to have a child with President Sarkozy.

If there were lingering concerns following the embarrassing release of a nude photo of France’s First Lady this week, they were quickly dispelled. Carla Bruni looked stylish and demure in a knee-length Dior coat and black gloves, with Jackie Kennedy-style hat.

Miss Bruni, a former supermodel has already moved into the palace, official home to all French presidents – even setting up her own “pop music room”.

Mr Sarkozy has been married twice before and has three sons. Miss Bruni has not been married, but has a six-year-old son from an earlier relationship. The question is how long she’s going to be around?

Since then President Sarkozy has made it clear he was in need of a First Lady because of all the official functions he has to attend around the world.

Carla Bruni, who was born in Italy, has been seen wearing a heart-shaped white gold engagement ring since Mr Sarkozy proposed to her in Egypt on Christmas Day.

It is the same £15,000 Dior model which Cecilia Sarkozy (President Sarkozy’s ex-wife) received towards the end of her rocky 11-year marriage to Mr Sarkozy.

To add insult to injury, it was created by Cecilia’s best friend, jeweller Victoire de Castellane.

On December 23, President Sarkozy threw a 40th birthday party for his lover, Carla in Paris and presented her with a £13,000 Dior ring, from the ominously-named “Fiancée of the Vampire” collection – also designed by de Castellane.

Mr Sarkozy becomes the first president to marry in office since Napoleon married Josephine.

Apparently the two got married last Thursday talking about spontaneity!
