Nicole Richie  served 82 minutes of a four-day sentence for driving under the influence so jail time is over for pregnant Richie! Now she can get on with her life & put this behind her.

Richie checked into a women’s jail at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday & was released at 4:37 p.m. “based on her sentence and federal guidelines,” Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Maribel Rizo said without elaborating.

Nicole Richie confirms that she is four months pregnant during her interview with ABC News’ Diane Sawyer. And Richie has confirmed that the daddy to be is Joel Madden. Duh! As for her DUI sentence? Richie said it was fair and just & she expected that! Well, four days in the clink, that’s not too bad at all!

Anyway, I hope they have a healthy baby together. I like Joel Madden & he seems to take good care of Richie.

Before we forget.. almost slipped my mind.. Last Friday, Nicole Richie was sentenced for 4 freaking days in jail, a fine of $2,048 bucks, three years of probation and an order to “enroll in a drug and alcohol program,”. Richie entered a guilty plea in her DUI case. For today’s court appearance, Richie arrived on the arm of rocker boyfriend Joel Madden. Where were her parents? Come on, Lionel. Show some support! Richie has to serve her sentence by September 28.

Nicole Richie was granted another trial delay today. New trial date now set for August 16. Meanwhile, Richie is in Calgary, Canada with boyfriend, Joel Madden, the Good Charlotte singer. The Good Charlotte performed at the Calgary Stampede last night.

(( Richie’s lawyer, Shawn Chapman Holley, appeared on behalf of Richie, arguing that the case should be delayed because a key drug-expert witness had been traveling abroad and was unavailable for trial, which was scheduled to begin today.
Holley apparently turned down any plea deal – for now – that an L.A. Superior Court spokesman confirmed was offered to Richie. Details of that plea deal were not disclosed.

Nicole Richie is pregnant with Joel Madden’s baby! Now, didn’t we tell you so for weeks & weeks? It’s no rocket science with Richie’s tiny frame & her bigger and bigger belly! The baby is due sometime in January. Nicole Richie & the Good Charlotte singer, Joel Madden are said to be tying the knot this summer! That’s cool. I like Madden, he’s a good boyfriend for Richie!

According to TMZ, Nicole Richie will fight her DUI charges!  A trial date was set for July 11.

(( Richie was arrested last December after she was driving the wrong way on an L.A. freeway. Cops say she confessed that she had been smoking pot and had taken Vicodin.

The stakes are high for Richie. She has a prior DUI and if she’s convicted this time around she faces a minimum 5 days in the pokey. Worst case scenario for Richie — one year in the slammer. ))

Nicole Richie looks like she’s really pregnant, doesn’t she? For someone as skinny as Richie, there’s just no way she can have a belly like this.  Sooo, does it mean that she doesn’t have to go to jail when and if it happens. Perhaps being pregnant can get Richie to do her time under house arrest, what do you think?
