According to the latest Hollywood gossip news, when Huge didn’t do too well, work slowed to a crawl for Nikki and she needed to make some extra money.

“Steven [the owner] says she’s one of the best employees he’s ever had!” a store source says. “Nikki had known Steven for a long time. When she started her career she got shoes, bags and accessories from the store for red carpets but recently approached him about working at the store.”

Blonsky who apparently just started working behind the register last week,  has no comment on the career change… But don’t worry, this could well be just a summer gig for Nikki.

“She’s supposedly working on a project that will catapult her career, something bigger than Hairspray,” says our shoe-pal.

Well, we wish Nikki the best of luck. What could she possibly be working on that’s bigger than Hairspray? Any idea? Oh dear, don’t tell me it’s another reality TV show!

Sgt. Calvin Chase told E! News the charges had been dropped, but wouldn’t discuss why. However, Carl Blonsky‘s assault charge still stands. He could land in jail for five years.

On the Oct. 8 Tyra Banks show, Bianca opens up and tells her side of the story, which pretty much paints the Blonsky’s as a clan of racist, woman battering yee-has.

“There was a lot of words exchanged. I got really defensive…Before my mom could walk away…her father … punched my mom. He knocked her out. He hit my mom with such force she stumbled back, and when she stumbled back, the whole family got up and attacked my mom. Her father and mother started saying, ‘They got rabies, they got rabies!’”

Bianca’s mom suffered a broken nose, fractured skull and internal bleeding. Hm. I feel like we’re missing a crucial puzzle piece in this story. Regardless, Nikki and Carl Blonsky are due in court on Dec. 1 and will, no doubt, be charged with common assault, actual bodily harm, and inflicting grievous bodily harm.

Nikki and her family were vacationing in the Turks and Caicos Islands.  They were at the airport when a reality show has been from America’s Next Top Model appeared.  It has turned in to a she started it/she started it fight and no one really seems to know what went down.  Maybe alcohol was involved? 

Luckily, TMZhas come up with some video of the argument turn slapfest.  Nikki, her father and Bianca Golden, the model in question, were all taken to jail.  Oops. 

Who do you think started it?  Don’t care?  Me either…these has beens will do anything to stay in the spotlight these days.

I like Blonsky with her hair down though, what do you think? Are you planning to watch “Hairspray?”

Firstly Zac, I hear congratulations is in order – you’re doing ‘’Footloose’’?
Zac: Yeah, hopefully. It’s really in development. There’s no script yet so we don’t know if it’s going to get made. But everyone seems to want it to happen.

You got the thumbs up from Kevin Bacon, too
Zac : Yeah, which is an honour. Can’t wait to talk with the guy and see what he thinks.

How did you get involved in ‘’Hairspray’’?
Zac: After High School Musical, there were surprisingly few things except for other teen projects. In fact after High School Musical I didn’t do much of anything at all for about eight months. Finally, after waiting and waiting, Hairspray came along. So it was a tedious time, seeing what would happen next, and for a while it didn’t look like anything was going to come along. Luckily this audition for Hairspray came along, and I felt blessed to be considered for the part – to be taken seriously was a very big deal. I was very grateful to them for keeping an open mind and seeing beyond the character of Troy Bolton.

Did your audition involve singing?
Zac: Yeah, absolutely. That was the first thing we did, first and foremost. There was one small [acting] scene but most of it was singing and dancing. I was mainly working with Adam – faces came and went, and it was kind of a long process. Nikki was on board at this stage. She’d definitely been discovered already. I’d heard a lot about her but hadn’t had a chance to meet her yet.

How has life has changed for you?
Nikki: Life really hasn’t changed that much. Sure, my dream has come true and I’m working in the business that I’ve always wanted to be in, making movies. But I’m the same person. I still live at home with my family. I’m enjoying myself as a normal teenage girl would. I still have the same friends and do the same things. I mean, my favourite thing in the whole world is to go fishing with my dad. It’s not shopping in Beverly Hills.

No, that’s what Zac likes to do doesn’t he [Laughs]
Zac : Ha Ha. Hardly.

Was it a fun movie to film?
Zac: The most surreal thing was working alongside actors we’ve admired for so long, people who’ll be the most-remembered actors of our generation. To have moments on screen with them is above and beyond anything I ever expected.
Nikki: Just seeing my name on the same credits made me cry. And then you’ve got greats like Queen Latifah and Allison Janney – Allison is my favourite character in the movie; I remember laughing out loud when I watched her shooting her scenes. And Brittany Snow, who plays the most evil person in the movie – I love her so much!

Zac Efron’s girlfriend, Vanessa Hudgens has been facing criticism all over the places for her nude photo that’s been circulating over the internet. So is Efron taking a breather trying to de-focus fans by getting cozy with Blonsky? Or it’s just for the promotional sake of their new musical “Hairspray“? Either case, Nikki must be on cloud nine!

We all know Efron is dating his High School Musical co-star, Vanessa Hudgens so Efron and Blonsky are just promoting their new flick and they are of course good pals. Has anyone seen Hairspray yet? I have and I loved it. I especially love John Travolta playing Nikki’s mom in the movie, he’s just hilarious. Also starring Queen Latifah.

On top of that, he’s allegedly dating his Hairspray co-star Nikki Blonsky!

In his interview with Rolling Stone, Efron reveals some of his feelings for Hudgens saying, “The weird thing that no one expected about Vanessa is that underneath such a sweet girl … is a very sexy woman.” He blushes, though, when pressed for more details about their relationship, and demures when asked about a silver band he wears.

“This is just a ring from a friend that I got,” he says. “It’s a female friend, but I can’t say who,” he adds, “because then it would be chat-room pandemonium and teen-magazine hysteria.”

Do you believe he’s really dating Nikki? It seems more for promotional sake than anything else.

Blonsky, who stands 4’10”, and her new guy have been inseparable these past few weeks. And if they aren’t spending quiet time together in New York or L.A. , they’re either talking on the phone or texting. “As crazy as it sounds, Zac is completely taken with Nikki,” says a source. “He said she’s someone special – someone unlike any other girl he’s ever dated. He goes on and on about how funny, smart, and pretty Nikki is.”

“Zac said they’ve made out,” says the source. “And that Nikki’s a great kisser. He also thinks she’s very sexy and admits he doesn’t even notice she’s carrying a few extra pounds. Zac and Vanessa used to argue a lot,” says the source. “They were jealous of each other. But Zac says Nikki is totally understanding and accepting of his popularity and isn’t threatened by it.”
