A little Whitney Houston in the making?

One month after Whitney Houston‘s untimely passing that shook the music industry and her billions of fans, her 19-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown got on “Oprah‘s Next Chapter” for her exclusive interview and tells her about how she’s been hanging on in spite of the late singer leaving her with only her worldly possessions–and her music gene, apparently! With her cutting her ties from her dad and losing her mom forever, we’ve been worried about the teenager’s future.

Bobbi Kristina tells Oprah:

“I’m doing as good as I possibly can at this point. I’m just trying to keep going. I can sing her music, but to hear it now, I can’t. I can hear her voice telling me, ‘Keep moving, baby. I got you.’ She’s always with me. I can always feel her with me. She used to always say, ‘Do you need me?’ And I said, ‘I always need you.’”

The teenager, who still lives in their old Atlanta home, explains to Oprah just how close she still is to her late mother:

“I feel her pass through me all the time. I wake up at night. She would say at 5 a.m. the saints start praying. I wake up now and look at the clock and it’s 5 o’clock. I start praying.”

She adds:

“Lights turn on and off and I’m like, ‘Mom, what are you doing?’ I can still laugh with her and still talk to her.”

Bobbi Kristina finally answers how she plans to stay connected with her mom in the years to come:

“I have to carry on the legacy. We’re gonna do the singing thing. Some acting, some dancing. It’s a lot of pressure, but she prepared me for it.”

Looks like we have a little Whitney Houston in our midst, but she realizes that no one can ever replace her mother, as she says:

“I just saw her as mom. The first time I saw her as a worldwide icon was when we went on tour. And the funeral… She made an impact not only on a few people. She made an impact on the world.”

With millions of your mother’s fans watching you even more closely now, we definitely hope you’re ready, Bobbi Kristina!

A representative for Beyonce and Jay-Z denied reports that Oprah Winfrey was among the people in the list being considered as godparents to baby Blue Ivy, and as the news broke out, Oprah didn’t even know it was going down. She was in South Africa when the barely-month old Blue Ivy was born, and she hasn’t even met the child yet…

Still, Oprah is good friends with Beyonce and Jay-Z, so we can never discount the fact that the power couple may invite her to the baptism, and even request that baby Blue get first dibs on Winfrey‘s annual Favorite Things list.

One never knows, that baby may get her own talk show as soon as she starts to talk…which isn’t that inconceivable if you have Oprah Winfrey as a mentor…

It seems Blue Ivy‘s parents, Jay-Z and Beyonce have been carefully considering the people to whom they plan to entrust their 19-day-old heir’s spiritual guidance, and they feel media mogul and queen of television, Oprah Winfrey is the perfect fit for their destiny’s child…

Among Jay-Z and Beyonce‘s considerations for shortlisting godparent candidates is that said godparent should not be a blood relation. This scratches out Blue Ivy‘s aunt, Solange Knowles, who was raring and ready to spoil Blue Ivy more rotten than she already is.

And secondly, the godparent needs to be freaking rich. All the better to gift Blue Ivy with the bling she needs in the life she’ll lead.

So we guess Oprah fits the bill. Congrats Oprah!
