Paula Abdul quits American Idol. Paula confirmed the news to the world and not so shocked fans that she had finally made her decision and it wasn’t good.  Well, it wasn’t good for her. I wonder what Simon Cowell will have to say?

There have been rumors for months that Paula was pissed with the show. I guess that much is true. According to her Tweet, it was a tough decision to leave:

Cheryl Cole won’t be replacing Paula Abdul as American Idol judge for $6.5 million dollar (£4m). Gorgeous X Factor judge, Cheryl has been reportedly talked up as the top contender to replace Paula Abdul as an Idol judge. Sources close to Cheryl said The Girls Aloud singer won’t be taking up the US job because she doesn’t want to leave her hubby, Ashley Cole back in London as reports by Daily Mail

Simon Cowell wants Paula Abdul to stay on American Idol. And when Simon talks, people usually tend to listen. Can Paula’s wishes be granted so she is happy and wants to stay on the show? It might not be the same without her!

Since Paula’s contract is up and it appears she isn’t happy, now her co-stars are rallying their support. Suuuure. They just don’t want to have to do it alone! From People Magazine:

Paula Abdul is hurt and angry and she may not be returning to American Idol for the ninth season. Abdul has not been invited back for the upcoming season on Idol. Abdul’s manager says he has yet to receive a new contract from FremantleMedia and 19 Entertainment, the companies behind American Idol.

The LA Times blog got some soundbites from Abdul’s manager, David Sonenberg:

Paula Abdul admits to a pain pill addiction. It had long been speculated that Paula may be taking more than the prescribed amount of pills, and finally she opens up in an issue of Ladies’ Home Journal about her trials and tribulations. Paula says she could have killed herself.

Paula Abdul was fooled by actor Sacha Baron Cohen in the newest Bruno film. Paula was interviewed by Sacha, disguised as Austrian fashion reporter Bruno, and never caught on to the joke.  According to Page Six, viewers will be treated to a spaced-out and trusting Paula answering all of Bruno’s ridiculous questions.

While Abdul’s rep had “no comment” the column reported that Paula was completely fooled. To this day Paula thinks she was very earnestly interviewed by a flamboyantly gay Eastern European fashion correspondent.

Martin Sheen disses Paula Abdul. And really, if you think about it it is rather funny.  As long as you aren’t Paula!  Martin is showing his true age too and that even Hollywood actors are human (and forgetful).  What exactly did he forget?

Martin ran in to Paula a while back.  He remembered she was young and beautiful.  What he didn’t remember is her name or that his son was once married to her.  He tells PR Inside:
