So what does PETA have against Katniss Everdeen?

Nothing, apparently.

Sure, they probably wouldn’t like the fact that she hunts and kills animals to survive, but fortunately the “Hunger Games” heroine escaped the wrath of PETA for that one.

Jennifer Lawrence, on the other hand, wasn’t as lucky.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Lawrence revealed that a particularly gross scene in “Winter’s Bone,” in which she had to skin a squirrel, was not faked—it was absolutely real. The actress jokes:

“I should say it wasn’t real, for PETA… But screw PETA.”

Predictably, PETA was quick to respond. The outspoken animal rights group’s president Ingrid Newkirk told Gothamist:

“She’s young and the plight of animals somehow hasn’t yet touched her heart. As Henry David Thoreau said, ‘The squirrel you kill in jest, dies in earnest.’ We are told that this squirrel was hit by a car, but when people kill animals, it is the animals who are ‘screwed,’ not PETA, and one day I hope she will try to make up for any pain she might cause any animal who did nothing but try to eke out a humble existence in nature.”

And, as usual, their response is pretty snarky.

Looks like the people at Theraflu Company aren’t the only ones who have a beef with Kanye’s new musical masterpiece…

When PETA heard Kanye West’s new single, they didn’t focus on the line about him falling in love with Kim Kardashian—which was the line that most celebrity gossip websites zeroed in on. The animal rights group focused on a line near the start of the song, which goes:

“Tell PETA my mink is draggin’ on the floor”

As expected, PETA was quick to release a scathing response. Dan Mathews, Senior Vice President of the animal rights group, said in a statement sent to XXL:

“What’s draggin’ on the floor is Kanye’s reputation as a man with no empathy for animals or human beings.”

The statement continues:

“He’s a great musician but doesn’t seem to have the fashion sense to design anything more than caveman costumes. We keep hoping that one day he’ll find his heart and join evolved style icons—including Russell Simmons, Pink, and Natalie Portman—who have dropped animal skins.”

Khloe Kardashian, who once posed nude in one of PETA’s “I’d Rather Go Naked” ads in 2008, has always been an avid supporter of the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals group… but not anymore. Especially now that the outspoken animal rights group has allegedly been tied to the flour bombing attack against her sister Kim.

Despite PETA’s declaration that they are in no way connected to the woman who dumped a bag of cooking flour on Kim’s head last week, Khloe believes that they were tied to the incident and has decided to lash out at the group and cut off all ties with them.

In a blog post entitled “I No Longer Support PETA,” Khloe wrote:

“Hi dolls. I’m sure you all heard what happened to Kim last week (thank you SO much for the love and support you all showed her), and I just received word that the woman responsible has very close ties to PETA, despite PETA publicly stating otherwise.”

She continued:

“Not only has PETA lied to the public, but they have proved that they support this kind of behavior. I’ve been a vocal supporter of PETA for a long time but I have also been very vocal about anti-bullying, so this was a huge disappointment for me. As you all know, I don’t condone violence and bullying and what happened last Thursday was just that.”

The wife of NBA star Lamar Odom added:

“I am absolutely disgusted by their behavior. Everyone is entitled to their own beliefs and opinions — I personally don’t wear fur but that doesn’t mean I am going to force my views on anyone else, ESPECIALLY by violating them. I am a very proud sister right now, because Kim handled last week’s incident like a champ. She got cleaned up and was back out there in a matter of minutes. Go Kimmie!”

And for her parting statement, Khloe wrote:

“We all need to practice what we preach. I will still continue to NOT wear fur, but I will no longer support PETA. Bullying and harassment is NEVER a solution, and I won’t be a part of any organization that thinks otherwise.”

So, we gotta ask… whose side are you on? Khloe’s or PETA’s?

Olivia Munn first went naked for PETA back in 2010, in a billboard that urged people to “Boycott the Circus.” Two years later, Munn takes her clothes off again for PETA’s “I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur” campaign—a campaign that has allowed us to see numerous celebrities in their birthday suits, including Eva Mendes, Khloe Kardashian, and Italian model Elisabetta Canalis.

Olivia also appears in a video expose for PETA, which shows how animals are treated in Chinese fur farms. She says:

“As a proud person of Chinese descent, it broke my heart to learn just how terribly animals suffer and die on Chinese fur farms and that there are no penalties for this abuse… When you think about even that little tiny trim of fur on your gloves or on your collar, that is still coming from an animal that had to endure so much pain just for you,”

Olivia adds:

“There’s nothing good about pretending like you don’t know.”

PETA has targeted many celebrities over the years—the most recent one being fur-lover Kim Kardashian. But now, they’ve decided to target Janet Jackson… some more.

The animal rights group, which has blasted the singer in the past, has now crowned Janet 2011’s Grinch of the Year for launching a “line of luxe fur outerwear and accessories” with fur company Blackglama.

Janet says of the partnership:

“The art of fashion is one of my great passions… I’ve worked for years to bring a collection into the world.  Partnering with Blackglama is very exciting.”

You know who’s not excited? PETA. A press release from the group states:

“When Janet Jackson had her infamous ‘wardrobe malfunction’ during the Super Bowl, at least the flesh that popped into view was her own – unlike the stolen animal skins that she drapes herself with, which are as dead as her taste in fashion (not to mention her career)… Ms. Jackson, you’re just plain nasty.”

It seems that PETA has come aboard the “let’s hate on the Kardashians” train, which has been gaining steam as of late. However, they have their sights set on only one Kardashian, and it is none other than the busty, bootylicious Kim, who just loves wrapping her voluptuous curves in luxurious animal fur.

PETA’s new anti-Kim billboard will reportedly go up in December, at the corner of Beverly Boulevard and Sweetzer Avenue. It will feature a picture of Kim wearing fur around her neck, alongside a sad photo of some baby foxes. In the middle of the billboard, it says:

“KIM: These babies miss their mother. IS SHE ON YOUR BACK?”

So why is Kim being targeted so aggressively by PETA? It’s because she continues to wear fur despite knowing the hard, cruel facts about how animals are treated in fur farms. PETA’s Senior Vice President Lisa Lange says:

“Kim knows that animals on fur farms are beaten, electrocuted, and often skinned alive. We’ve explained it to her, and she’s watched a video exposé that was filmed inside fur farms… When Kim is ready to put an end to her relationship with fur, PETA will be happy to take her discards and donate them to the homeless.”

She adds:

“PETA hopes that the prominent billboard will finally be enough to convince Kim…to divorce herself from fur and say “I do” to a more compassionate wardrobe.”

Well, we doubt some billboard will be able to successfully slap some sense into Kim, especially when it comes to fashion… but who knows?

Gaga, who once famously (or infamously) wore a meat dress on the red carpet, has been asked by PETA India to wear its vegetarian version.

Sachin Bangera of PETA said:

“If she agrees, we’ll make her a dress entirely of lettuce and held together by pins and threads… It will be a full length gown, and we’ll make sure it looks sexy … someone will be on hand to spray the lettuce with water so that it doesn’t wilt.”

Hmmm. Do you think Gaga will go for it?

What about the backlash from the parents of her young “Glee” fans who’ve already protested her the skimpy outfits and sultry poses in GQ last year? Won’t that snowball into an actual boycott of the TV musical if prudish Rachel Berry were to show more skin?

But star news knows Lea Michele‘s an animal rights activist who’s actively campaigned for various animal charities.

“I will do anything for them, I just adore them,”

Lea said of PETA

“I think the women who do those campaigns are really making it effective in their own way. They are doing their part, definitely. I think that I should focus on other things so we’re all doing our part in different aspects.”

So that means we’ll be seeing a lot more of Lea Michele than she’s actually bared so far. Brace yourself, Gleeks…

“Who’s Skin Are You In?” indeed. Was PETA trying to portray her as a snake woman? Because we’ve never seen a more highly endowed snake woman than Kelly here, unless PETA was trying to let us believe she’s digesting a lunch of some sort of aardvark or baby hippo down her front and up her backside.

And that face!

PETA must really have a hyper-enthusiastic art department eager to see if making real live models look like CGI characters can be shoved down the throats of animal lovers and Hollywood celebrity websites.

We know Kelly Brook‘s been largely confined to ludicrous B movies about killer man-eating fish, but she got this really wholesome pretty face that in no way resembles that waxy snake mask above.

PETA should start taking their own advise and keep their models looking like themselves and not the animals they’re trying to save… What do you think?

Uh, probably not.

Brooke attended the unveiling of the “Women In Cages” exhibit on Monday at the Cafeina Lounge in Miami, Florida, along with her parents, friends, and other relatives.

(Yes, she brought her whole family to see naked photos of her plastered on a wall. Cringe much?)

In the nude shots, Brooke is seen posing naked inside a dog cage. A rep for the once-aspiring singer says:

“The photos at the exhibit are very sophisticated and classy and just give the illusion of nude or the perception of nude, but of course to get these shots, the shoot itself is fully nude.”

Brooke, who has always been outspoken about her support for PETA, once told celebrity news that she would happily beat the living hell out of those sadistic people who abuse and torture animals. She was quoted as saying:

“I’d be happy to have my five minutes with one of those animal abusers in a dark alley …”

Peta so far is still friendly with her. They have requested she watch a tape of animal cruelty to lizards before they are skinned. From Daily News & Analysis:

Affirming the news, David Perle, PETA US, says, “We appreciate Victoria Beckham’s rejection of fur (earlier) and had approached her respectfully over the suffering of lizards and other reptiles who are often skinned alive for fashion.” The organisation is awaiting a reply from her. Meanwhile, the issue has gathered steam over earlier reports in a British tabloid that suggested that PETA was going to douse Beckham in lizard blood at a public appearance, leaving PETA members outraged. “It’s an absolutely false story. PETA is not going to throw any blood on Victoria,” states Sachin Bangera, spokesperson of PETA India.

You know there is some whack job out there who was just given the idea by reading that story. Look out Victoria, because it will probably happen sooner rather than later now. Do you think Victoria should eliminate the use of animal skins from her fashion line?

The Kardashian sisters are busy filming one of their many reality shows but this one might just be all about Kim and Kourtney snacking in The Big Apple. Who knows right? Oh and of course you saw the bar brawl with a jealous chick throwing at drink at gorgeous Kim the other night, right? And now Kim is wearing a fur stole… oh mine! PETA could be mad. You know her younger sister Khloe has posed for PETA before right? Khloe would rather go naked than wear fur!

Pamela Anderson’s recent trip to Montreal, Canada was wasted by Canadian authorities as they tardily informed her that her new ad would not receive a permit to be shown. Anderson was visiting to kick off a new advertising campaign for fringe animal rights group, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

Pam just haven’t been having the luck lately. She didn’t win Dancing With the Stars and she doesn’t get air time in her home country! Do you think Pam has realized her star has lost a little bit of its wattage power now?

As it normally goes, Peta got their panties in a twist and released an angry statement about Jackson, completely throwing her under the bus for accepting the campaign.

“It’s amazing what celebrities will do when their careers are on a downslide, but we didn’t think that Janet was this desperate. Surely she knows enough about suffering and unjustified death to recognize that both occur in the production of a fur coat. We are asking her to think again and to donate these stolen skins to be used as bedding for animals orphaned by other human-caused disasters, such as loss of habitat.”

This is a touch mean-spirited, no? Shouldn’t PETA just focus on animals and leave Janet Jackson‘s career out of it?

Justin has hit 21 now and he is making the most of his career.

Miley Cyrus’ ex — and former underwear model — Justin Gaston, 21, and members of the online reality series If I Can Dream, are stripping down for a good cause.

Fellow cast members Giglianne Braga, an aspiring model, and Ben Elliot, an aspiring actor, join Gaston in the racy print ads. The threesome say they weren’t nervous about being in the buff.

“If nudity is involved, especially because it’s for a cause, I didn’t see anything wrong with that,” Braga says. “We’re just supporting a good cause by being naked.”

If it’s for a good cause, who cares if they are naked, right?

Hats off to PETA, they seem to get more celebrities to go nude than Playboy magazine, don’t they? Munn posed au naturel for the ad, which features a backdrop of elephants in their native environment alongside the words, “As Nature Intended, Let Elephants Be Free. Boycott the Circus.” The billboard was shot by top celebrity photographer Hama Sanders.

Munn feels especially passionate about this issue. In an exclusive PETA interview, she explains, “I had seen a video online about the mistreatment and abuse of these elephants at the Ringling Bros. circus event, and I was brought to tears.”

Regarding the amount the animal rights organisation would pay Suleman, Schinke said: ‘We have been speaking with Nadya’s lawyers and have made an offer for $5,000 plus a one-month’s supply of veggie burgers and veggie dogs for her whole family.’
