Hot on the heels of his ex-wife’s recent red carpet appearances with new boyfriend Vincent Piazza, Pete stepped out on Thursday afternoon with a mystery woman in tow.

The couple was spotted holding hands after a grocery run, and then later at a playground where they spent some quality time with Pete and Ashlee’s son Bronx Mowgli Wentz.

Good for you, Pete.

Ashlee reportedly called Pete while she was drunk, and she totally poured her heart out to him. A source tells Us Weekly:

“Ashlee was telling Pete how much she misses him and wants him back.”

Despite the fact that Ashlee is currently dating “Boardwalk Empire” actor Vincent Piazza, a source close to Pete claims that she’s been trying to get back with her ex-hubby—she even asked his sister (her former sister-in-law) to help her.

Unfortunately for Ashlee, Pete doesn’t want her back. The source claims:

“He will never go back to her. He’s in a good place.”

Ashlee and Vincent were spotted yesterday in NYC enjoying a nice daytime stroll—and a bit of making out, too.

Obviously there’s no longer a chance of reconciliation between Ashlee and Pete, though for a while rumors were flying around that they had gotten back together after being seen out on the town a few times with their son, Bronx Mowgli.

Ashlee and Pete filed for divorce last February after almost three years of marriage.

Ashlee filed for divorce in February, but the pair have been out a few times since then, looking happy and content. Is it for show or what?

“They were holding hands and laughing,” said an onlooker. “And when they weren’t holding hands Pete had his arm draped around Ashlee’s shoulders.

“They looked very happy and at ease with one another. If I didn’t know different I’d never have thought there was trouble in paradise.”

If they can be happy and work it out, then good for them. But do you think it will last or will Pete go back to the party ways that were said to have caused the split in the first place?

Ashlee’s rumored new guy is in a band…that Pete’s record label produces! Ouch. Did Pete introduce them?

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz has been seeing Craig Owens from the band D.R.U.G.S., which just released its first album on Pete Wentz’s record label. The mag has three pix of Ashlee and Craig hanging out together, and apparently they were seen holding hands at the Beverly Center Mall, and they even kissed on the lips.

Is it really that fast for her to move on? And if she was the one to dump Pete, then she had already moved on in her head probably. Do you think this is Ashlee’s new man?

While Ashlee was hoping to get primary custody, Pete is taking her to court to try and prevent that from happening. Instead he’d like it if they shared custody of Bronx and both paid their own legal bills.

Simpson initially wanted Pete Wentz to foot the bill for both, but the Fall Out Boy rocker has quickly shut down that request.

The documents also state their official split to be Feb. 9th.

Ashlee and Pete spent a lot of time apart. Is it really a surprise that trust and infidelity became an issue?

Reportedly, Pete was hooked on several prescription medications and also had a bit of a wandering eye. Ashlee got fed up with his crap and threatened to leave him. He apparently didn’t heed her warning and continued his antics, prompting her to file for divorce.

She was pressuring him to go to rehab, but he didn’t listen. So she took off and filed for divorce. A source said, “Ashlee realized that Pete had become a functioning addict and that he wasn’t making any effort to quit.” Reportedly, he’s been taking Ambien, Xanax and OxyContin. The source added, “When Pete drinks and takes pills, he goes wild. Ashlee doesn’t trust him to be faithful.”

It’s too bad they couldn’t work things out, because they seemed so happy in love when they did get married. Do you think it’s too late for them if he does go to rehab if the pills part is true?

Although Ashlee blamed Pete‘s erratic moods and the fact they both walked down the aisle and had children too young, the real reason, Wentz‘s friends say, is because she partied too much.

“On the road with his band, he “would constantly check in on Ashlee, and he’d have his friends call the house and her cell to make sure she said she was where she said she was going to be,” an insider explains. “He felt like he couldn’t trust her.”

Eh – sounds like too much time apart forced them to grow in separate ways. It happens. Especially when you’re in a band and on the road half the year.

Interesting for a former Baptist preacher, right?

“Joe is doing nothing to encourage Ashlee to give the marriage another try, if only for the sake of her son. Joe likes being the only man in his daughters’ lives and is happy that Ashlee has moved back into his home [in Encino, Calif.], just like Jessica did after she announced she was leaving Nick….Joe got rid of Nick, and now he is saying goodbye to Pete. Let’s hope Ashlee finds more happiness than Jessica did when she finds herself officially single again.”

I don’t know – this sounds really twisted. Almost too twisted and contrived. But then again – he is their dad/manager, so he may have major control issues with his daughters.

While we already reported it was a shock to Pete, now his friends say he’s completely and utterly devastated.

“Pete has been crying a lot to her about this. He is crushed, and does not want it to be over. Ashlee is done, she loves him, but she’s ready to move on,” said the source. ”When he traveled for work, she had a lot of time to think, and in the end she just felt happier without him.”

Ashlee cited erratic behavior as to one of the reasons why she was divorcing him. That makes sense….just look at his hair!

Pete Wentz is getting divorced against his will — so say sources close to the rocker … he absolutely did not want to end his marriage to Ashlee Simpson.

We’re told Wentz tried talking Ashlee out of filing divorce papers, to no avail. She wanted out of the marriage … sources tell us.

In fact, Wentz was flashing his wedding ring and a HUGE smile all over Dallas this past weekend — while his wife was back home in L.A. with their son Bronx.

He was at the Super Bowl party while she was at home, and yet, no one else thinks this is strange? Do you think more will come out of this story soon?

Ashlee filed for divorce because she can’t handle Pete’s crazy behavior? One source very familiar with the situation tells TMZ.com, “It’s really all about Pete’s erratic behavior.” The source adds, “She really wanted out.”

However sources connected with Wentz tell TMZ otherwise, Ashlee’s claim that Pete was just too erratic is b.s. — and they simply grew apart.

According to one connected source, “After Bronx was born Ashlee made a conscious decision to get out of the business, but Pete’s heart was in music so he kept touring and that became a big issue in their relationship.”

A conflict has already emerged, sources tell TMZ Pete wants joint legal and physical custody of Bronx and in Ashlee’s divorce papers, she’s asking for primary physical custody.

She has also the court restore her name to Ashlee Nicole Simpson. Ashlee formally changed her name to Ashlee Simpson-Wentz less than a month after marrying Wentz back in 2008.

There was no third party involved. Can anyone ever works things out these days? Sigh.

In documents filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Simpson cites “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the divorce.

Ashlee is asking for joint legal custody and primary physical custody of their two-year-old Bronx as well as spousal and child support.

Ashlee married married Fall Out Boy Bassist/lyricist Pete Wentz in May 2008. The couple has a two-year-old son together, Bronx Mowgli Wentz.

Somehow we saw this one coming…

We hope everything is amicable for the sake of the young son.

Pete has put on masks, flipped off cameramen and carried cardboard messages to mess up pictures. Now look at his t-shirt.

Both Ashlee and Pete were laughing and smiling at their son for the entire visit making it look like the park visit was enjoyed by Bronx’s parents just as much as the toddler himself.

Despite both having successful music careers, the pair are now more ofter seen on parent duty than on stage.

Ashlee last worked on the Melrose Place remake which was canceled after 18 episodes. (Her role was cut after only 13 episodes.) But the actress now gets to spend her time with her son and following her busy husband around while he works.

Does Pete even work now? What is Fall Out Boy doing right now? Is there a tour? New album? See, if it weren’t for the pictures, I would have completely forgotten them. Maybe he shouldn’t be so hard on the press!

Clandestine Industries is a clothing line founded by Pete Wentz. Cool ha? I wonder whether they sell the Hannibal muzzle or it’s just for the show?

Pete and Ashlee got together right at the peak of his career, and Pete kind of ignored it from then. OK, not ignored, but was distracted. He says via from Contact Music:

The rockers have decided to shelve the group indefinitely to allow them all more time to concentrate on their own projects.

Wentz is convinced his high profile relationship with wife Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, which propelled the rocker into the gossip columns, had a negative impact on their music and he wanted to take a step back to stop his celebrity persona from overshadowing the band.

He tells British magazine Kerrang!, “My biggest personal reason for taking a break is that I feel my name has become a hindrance for the band.

I wonder if this is the real reason or if the band mates will come forth with another version. Good luck Pete!
