Naomi has been cast as the late lamented Lady Di in a new, upcoming biopic called “Caught In Flight,” which will focus on the last two years of the Princess of Wales’ life, which right after she divorced Prince Charles.

Naomi said in a statement:

“It is such an honor to be able to play this iconic role… Princess Diana was loved across the world and I look forward to rising to the challenge of playing her on screen.”

The film, which was written by Stephen Jeffreys and directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel, will also focus on Princess Diana’s two-year affair with Dr. Hasnat Khan, who is said to be the love of her life.

A source reveals Gaga is utterly fixated on Diana, and sees herself as the pop icon version of the late princess…or more to the fact, the 21st century incarnation of her. Is this the reason why Gaga‘s been trying to change her accent from native New Yorker to something approaching upper crust Brit?

“She knows she is almost as recognisable as Diana and is hounded by photographers and fans on the same level.”

The source reportedly told UK’s tabloid “The Sun“,

“Gaga has had dreams about dying the same way as her and has genuine fears that her fame could literally kill her, either in a chase or at the hands of crazies.”

In fact, Mother Monster feels so much affinity to the ill-fated British royal, she’s announced she’ll be releasing a new track dedicated to the late princess, whom Gaga‘s been referring to as a “martyr for fame.”

We know Gaga‘s a “Fame Monster,” and all that, but we’re not sure Princess Di actively courted that kind of attention from the paparazzi…or from anyone else for that matter, except for trying to pull Prince Charles away from Camilla Parker-Bowles‘ sticky fingers during the early days…

But that doesn’t stop Gaga from laboring under the delusion she’ll be like Princess Diana very soon. Mother Monster is reported to be obsessed with the late icon’s charity work and fashion sense, and in fact has lifted ideas for her costumes from Diana‘s own wardrobe choices.

“Diana was the most iconic martyr of fame. She died because of it.”

Gaga was once quoted as saying, attributing her hit “Paparazzi,” as having been inspired by Diana‘s senseless death.

So watch out Princes William and Harry…because there’ll be a very oddly dressed woman with a painfully enunciated accent who’ll want to claim to be your mother soon…

Princess Diana would have turned 50 years old this July 1, and with added interest in the Royal family thanks to Prince William‘s recent marriage, people are talking about her again a little more than usual. And of course, almost everyone remembers the People’s Princess with stars in their eyes… except maybe Ann Coulter. When asked about her opinion of Diana, Ann tells ‘The Insider’:

“I find it a little baffling when Americans get so gaga-eyed over a princess, and particularly Lady Di, who was just this anorexic, bulimic narcissist.”

Wow. Obviously, Ann won’t be hanging out with Prince William and Kate Middleton when they come to the United States after their Canada trip.

Diana would have been 50 years old and Newsweek’s editor-in-chief who is also Princess Diana‘s biographer, Tina Brown went all the way out to commemorate the Princess’ 50th birthday even doing a mock-up of what the Princess of Wales’ Facebook page would have looked like.

Notice the Princess and Camilla Parker-Bowles (Prince Charles’ wife) are friends! And Diana likes Colin Firth‘s movies, I do too.

Oh by the way, inside the magazine, Diana is Photoshopped carrying none other than an iPhone.

This cover has been a huge topic among celebrity gossip websites today and is receiving massive amount of criticism for being too creepy and disrespectful. What do you think creepy or not?

Keira is British, therefore her accent will seem natural to those watching. And she is tall, slender and graceful like Diana was. From Celebuzz:

British newspaper the Daily Mail reports that the 26-year-old Pirates of the Caribbean beauty is at the top of the list to play the late Diana, Princess of Wales in an upcoming biopic about the ill-fated royal, who died in 1997 during a car chase with the paparazzi in Paris.

According to a source, film company Pathe—which scored hits with the 2006 royal biopic The Queen and Knightley’s 2008 offering The Duchess—has already begun work on the project with a projected 2011 release date, and the company and wants Knightley on board to play the lead role.

I’m not sure if I can see her in the role or not. She’s played historical characters very well who were British. But in the 1980s and 1990s, that’s not that historical. DO you think Keira should get the role?

Prince William tells the Daily Mirror:

Prince William has spoken for the first time about the devastating effect of losing his mother as a teenager.

The prince, who was just 15 when Princess Diana died, said: ‘Never being able to say the word “Mummy” again in your life sounds like a small thing.

‘However, for many, including me, it’s now really just a word – hollow and evoking only memories.’

The 26-year-old prince has always refused to talk in public about his grief, but he changed his mind after becoming the Royal Patron of the Child Bereavement Charity.

For many it is a grief never entirely lost. Life is altered as you know it, and not a day goes past without you thinking about the one you have lost.

However, I also know that over time it is possible to learn to live with what has happened and, with the passing of years, to retain or rediscover cherished memories.

I think William is truly maturing and may be looking to settle down now.  And I think he is coming to grips with his mother’s death, a decade after it happened.

The media in the UK has said Paul Burrell came to them and said he had sex with Princess Diana.  At this point, who HASN’T come forward and made such outrageous claims?!?!  He goes on to say that he wasn’t her butler, but more like her sex slave.  WHAT??  Right, like she had all the time between country hopping and benefit balls to stay at home and order around a sex slave.  This is a good one…it’s just too bad it is where her children and family has to hear it.  Is Burrell making money off these claims, as he did all the other claims involving her after her death?

Angelina Jolie was only twenty-two when Princess Diana died in a car crash in France. Jolie does a lot of charitable work and we all love her for that, don’t we?
