The American Idol judges looked…awkward. Fox tried desperately to genereate some interest in the aging show and it appears they…tried? When the judges were all revealed and standing together, it looked like comedy.

I hope they all have short contracts. I don’t know who had more frizzzy styled hair, Jennifer Lopez or Steven Tyler. Then there’s the awful pantsuit again. Why?

Once a dizzyingly dominant small-screen force, Fox’s American Idol has been shedding viewers in recent years — some 9% last season alone, many of them in the advertiser-coveted 18-to-49 demographic.

The much-predicted announcement Wednesday that actress/singer J. Lo and Aerosmith frontman Tyler would join holdover Randy Jackson on judges’ row for Season 10 is aimed at both rekindling viewers’ interest and refocusing the contest on the show’s hopefuls.

But questions abound.

Is the best way to de-emphasize the judges really to replace Ellen DeGeneres, Kara DioGuardi and Simon Cowell with two entertainment industry icons?

I guess we’ll all have to wait and see what the chemistry does. From the surface, it doesn’t look like these three will have awesome chemistry, but whatever. Are you excited for the show to start?

Randy Jackson is tired of the American Idol upheaval. Who can blame Randy? For two years, ever since Paula Abdul’s circus left town, it has been all about the judges and not about the contestants.

Randy has a point in being upset. Wouldn’t you want to focus on the talent and not the staff?

RANDY Jackson is getting “fed up” with all the upheaval at American Idol — but sources say he’s unlikely to quit the show.

Ellen DeGeneres recently announced she’s quitting the program; Kara DioGuardi has reportedly been fired; and Jennifer Lopez and Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler reportedly joining the judges’ table.

But insiders believe Randy will be back for season 10.

“He’s a little fed up and torn with everything going on, but Randy is the kind of person who goes with the flow. He loves the show.

I can see he loves the show, but was that the old show? The show with him, Paula and Simon? Do you think he will stay with AI?

Randy Jackson Wants To Create A Woman’s Handbag Line

Randy Jackson has his eye on a business venture after American Idol ends this week. Randy wants to start a woman’s handbag line. Perhaps Jackson has an eye for fashion like he does undiscovered musical talent? Who knows. There are very, very few straight men I would trust with creating women’s accessories. Very few. And I’m not sure someone who overuses the word “dawg” is one of them.

According to Gatecrasher, Randy took a business meeting at the W hotel in Los Angeles.

Randy met with a PR agency to discuss how to market a new line of handbags, but he had to cut the meeting short to film ‘Idol.’”

American Idol is also shaking things up this season, trying to add viewers. Or keep more of their viewers from turning away, like what has happened the last two years. What did they do?

American idol will be adding in a fourth judge to the mix. That means Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul will be sharing duties and opinions with another. And her name is Kara DioGuardi, who is a Grammy winning songwriter. She will debut on the show when it returns in January.

Perhaps AI is trying to reach a new crowd…Kara is the youngest judge at 37!!! Those other three are old, and perhaps not in the know???

What do you think of the 4th judge – will it help or ruin the show??
