The pregnant actress has been having a few “misses” on the red carpet lately, but what better place to bounce back from her fashion funk than in Cannes for the annual Cannes Film Festival?

Reese looked amazing in a midnight blue empire-waist halter gown encrusted with Swarovski crystals from Atelier Versace, which featured a cutout back and a central slit.

She paired the gown with silver platform heels, also from Versace.

As for accessories, Reese went with diamond drop earrings and a bracelet from Chopard jewelry.

A simple updo and glowing, barely there makeup finished the look.

Her new fringe isn’t just a flight of fancy to update her look or to wow photographers and fashion critics at the red carpet…although that’s happened, as well. The reason the Oscar winner adopted her new hairstyle is to cover the new scar she’s sporting on her wide forehead…the same scar she’d gotten when she was struck by a car while jogging near her home in Santa Monica last September…

“I landed right on my head and I have a scar, hence my new hairdo. I don’t remember much about it, but miraculously — and thank God! — I am fine,”

Reese said on the Graham Norton Show recently.

“They said I am very hard headed.”

Luckily, the driver of the vehicle, an 84-year-old woman, wasn’t going very fast when she ran Reese down. The actress escaped with minor injuries, including a black eye, and declined to press charges against the octogenarian, who was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

So now the 35-year-old mother of two covers the gash on her forehead with a sleek, new cut, that frankly, looks really great on her. We won’t even be surprised if it becomes the next biggest red carpet trend…

Love the confidence, Reese!

Reese may not be averse to decorating her body with huge tattoos, but she is averse to enhancing her looks with plastic surgery… unlike most women in Hollywood. The all-natural beauty tells Glamour UK:

“I don’t think I need plastic surgery at this point: Can we just go day-by-day on that one?”

Reese adds:

“I’m not for it. I’m not against it… I have plenty of friends who do stuff and if it makes you feel good, great … but I don’t think it’s the fix for some sort of unease that you’re having about who you are as a human being.”

The Oscar winner, who flaunts her half-naked body in a scene from her upcoming film, “This Means War,” continues:

“I have the body I earned: I had two kids and I’m still strong and healthy… And you start to have a different respect for your body the older you get. Instead of tearing yourself apart all the time, you start to go ‘Oh wow.’”

Wow. It’s nice to see a celebrity who is comfortable in her own skin and isn’t swayed by the insecurities that come with the job…

Hmmm…do we sense the presence of a green-eyed monster with a razor-sharp chin?

The 35-year-old “Water For Elephants” star apparently learned the Bieb was excited about starring in a remake of the 1996 thriller, “Fear,” where Reese played a rebellious teenager who falls in love with a psycho schoolmate, Mark Wahlberg. The film was largely responsible for cementing the former rapper, Marky Mark‘s status as an actor, and now Justin Bieber has signified his interest in doing a remake…

“Would he be playing me, or is he playing Mark Wahlberg?”

Reese told JustJared in an exclusive interview, seemingly in jest.

Eh? What’s that supposed to mean, Ms. Witherspoon? Are you trying to tell us you think Justin Bieber looks like a girl?

For shame! And he’s been working out diligently, too, if this recent Instagram photo is any indication. Perhaps in a bid to prepare for his future “Fear” screen role, but then again maybe for the sole purpose of convincing veterans in the industry like you that he is, in fact, male.

Just ask Selena Gomez. Or even Mariah Yeater (whatever happened to her and her paternity claim?).

Reese, who wore a red “bombshell” dress for her most recent red carpet appearance at the 2012 Golden Globes, turned up at the U.K. premiere of her latest movie in a sparkling emerald green sequined Louis Vitton dress, which she paired with black pumps and a black clutch.

Stick-straight hair, smokey taupe eye makeup, and glossy red lips completed Reese’s red carpet look.

Love the dress! Not so much a fan of her styling, though.

Was it a hit or a miss?

Reese usually looks great on the red carpet, but this time the actress failed to “bring it” when she stepped out at the Golden Globes. And it’s really quite a shame, since her dress was very sexy and had all the potential for a stunning, sexy bombshell look.

Reese showed up at the awards show held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in a red strapless Zac Posen mermaid gown, Fred Leighton bracelets, and Christian Loubotin heels.

Unfortunately, the dress seemed a tad too long for Reese, and it was a bit baggy around the chest area.

And truth be told, her hair and makeup wasn’t any better, either. Reese showed up with I-just-jumped-out-of-bed messy hair, shimmery eye makeup, and pale glossy lips.

So the hairstyle was bad, but the makeup on its own was okay… however, it just doesn’t seem to go with her sexy dress. The Zac Posen gown requires bit more drama to make it really stand out… a nice updo or cascading curls, perhaps, or a darker lip color and sultry eyes?

To be perfectly honest, Reese’s unfortunate styling totally killed this look.

Is it funny or mean?

Just to bring you up to speed, Reese was recently hit by a car while she was out jogging, and though she was hurt, there were no major injuries. The actress is reportedly recuperating in her home as we speak.

Meanwhile, Jason Biggs decided that it would be fun to crack a few jokes at Reese’s expense. The actor tweeted:

“I just heard the news about Reese Witherspoon doing a voice in ‘Cars 3′. Wow!”

Later, he retweeted this tweet by The Associated Press:

“@AP: Dead NASA satellite will soon fall 2 Earth; theres 1-in-3200 chance satellite part will hit someone”

To which Jason added:

“Reese better not leave the house.”

It’s actually pretty funny, but we’re not sure if it’s okay to laugh.

The latest Hollywood gossip reports the Oscar winning actress was jogging along Georgina Avenue at 20th Street around 11 a.m. when she was struck down by a vehicle traveling south. Witherspoon was immediately rushed to the hospital where it was found she suffered minor injuries, but nothing life threatening.

“The actress was not seriously injured and is resting comfortably at home,”

a rep for 35-year-old Witherspoon announced.

The octogenarian driver was subsequently cited with failing to yield to a pedestrian at a crosswalk but was later released without being charged.

Good thing Reese has just wrapped up filming for her newest flick, “This Means War,” but let’s hope rumors she’s pregnant aren’t true, because that will put a right damper on her and second husband’s Jim Toth’s plans to add to the family.

An insider believes that the newlywed, Reese might already be pregnant with her third child.

“It’s no secret that Reese wants to have children with Jim,” says an insider to OK! “They have been trying for some time now. They are already a wonderful family — the only thing missing is a new baby.

”The Oscar-winning actress, Reese, 35, is a great mom and said she’d love more children. “I’m very blessed,” she gushed last year. “I have two great kids… I don’t wake up to make movies. I wake up to hang out with my family.”

“Reese may be pregnant already. Her stomach isn’t washboard flat and people have definitely noticed,” says the insider. “She’s relaxed her exercise routine a lot — Reese typically hits the pavement for a long run every morning.”

Reese came with Robert Pattinson to promote their newest film in the UK.

Look how Reese glows and how much of that happiness shines in her eyes. It also helps that she sports a healthy tan and a tight bod.  Such a far cry from her days when she struggled to maintain her marriage to Ryan Philippe who couldn’t seem to take her more successful career in stride.

For Pattinson, the opening number is a big step up from his last non-Twilight film, “Remember Me,” which opened to merely $8.1 million last year.

“Water for Elephants” performance probably comes as a greater relief to Witherspoon than Pattinson; Reese’s “How Do You Know” was one of 2010′s biggest bombs. The $120 million comedy grossed less than $50 million worldwide.

“Water For Elephants” placed third in the weekend standings behind “Rio” ($26.8 million) and “Madea’s Big Happy Family” ($25.8 million).

“Scream 4” didn’t do well at all with box office number dropping to a scary 62 percent from last weekend.

As for “Your Highness” starring Natalie Portman and James Franco’s Your High. The $50 million comedy dropped out of the Top 10 after just two weekends.

Russell Brand’s “Arthur” is in the same sad state.

The ‘Water for Elephants” actress, who married the Hollywood agent last month was absolutely certain she wanted to spend the rest of her life with her beau! Aww!

We can so see that just by looking at Witherspoon, the newly-wed showed up at Good Morning America and just couldn’t stop smiling.

The couple spent their honeymoon in Belize, South America and of course being such a wonderful mommy, Reese brought along her two children Ave, 11 and Deacon, 7.

William Rast by Justin Timberlake received 19% of responses, Winter Kate by Nicole Richie received 17% and Elizabeth and James by Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen got 14%.

• When asked which celebrity kid’s style they would emulate for their own child, but for less money, Violet Affleck led the way with 32% of responses. The other responses included Suri Cruise (20%), Kingston Rossdale (18%), Shiloh Jolie-Pitt (15%), Harlow Richie-Madden (8%) and Mason Disick (7%).

“I mean, I feel like an ingrate for even thinking anything isn’t good. I’m very, very, very lucky. But . . . umm . . . probably that I parted with my privacy a long time ago. We went different ways. A spy at the restaurant says the two were laughing and sharing jokes throughout the entire meal. So what was the occasion? It appears they were just catching up, the two became pals last Fall while filming ‘This Means War’ in Vancouver, Canada.

“They were smiling alot and talking nonstop. They really kept to themselves. They seemed to be really enjoying their time together, dishing and laughing.”
