Preston tells star news of Scientology, a religion practiced by fellow celebrities Tom Cruise, Kirstie Alley, Jenna Elfman, Juliette Lewis, Priscilla Presley, Jason Lee and Peaches Geldoff, among many others. It is a religion most people regard as a cult and look at with derision.

Kelly turned to he religion in her time of sorrow and says the experience taught her valuable life lessons:

“Don’t sweat the small things. Love your kids like it could be the last moment.”

Still, a silver lining appeared in Kelly Preston and John Travolta‘s dark cloud. Their son, Benjamin Hunter Kaleo was born late last year to take away some of the pain of Jett’s passing.

Sources reveal that Lindsay, who will be starring in the movie ‘Gotti’ alongside longtime Scientologist John Travolta, has nothing against the controversial religion. She is not joining the Church because she was brought up in the Catholic faith, and she plans to stay Catholic.

According to TMZ, Lindsay hasn’t even been invited to visit the Church, nor has she taken any classes with them.

Good, because she doesn’t really need any more controversy in her life, don’t you think?

Sounds like the dark ages, but it is true. Tom and a few other people high up in the Scientology hierachy are being investigated for human trafficking and for using unpaid labor. 

The FBI is investigating whether the Church of Scientology engages in human trafficking and uses unpaid labor — including allegations that Tom Cruise had work done on his motorcycles and property by church members who were paid little if anything for their efforts, a new report reveals.

The shocking 26-page exposé in The New Yorker focuses on “Crash” director and Oscar-winning writer Paul Haggis’ decision to quit the church, a spacey blend of self-help and science fiction that critics say uses brainwashing and coercion to indoctrinate and impoverish vulnerable recruits.

Do you think it is unpaid labor or someone wanting to be close to Tom and get recognized? This could be a real tricky case. I bet it will get ugly before it is resolved, however!

So what’s an e-meter? Well, according to the report it’s a special Scientology device used to “emits a low-level electric charge that goes to the brain” that has a similar effect to heroin.

Heroin? Really! Interesting. Honestly, this would explain a lot.

Star magazine explains this e-meter, saying it:

“Gives subjects a temporary feeling of euphoria, followed by a crash and a craving for more. [Which] may “spark an endorphin release,” and when that occurs it’s the “same thing as taking morphine or other opiates, such as heroin or opium.”

Nothing would shock me about Scientology, honestly. What do you think? Do you buy it?

While it all seemed so fast and shocking, those close to the couple assert that they had many problems. One of the big ones? Scientology. Oh, no! Not Elisabeth too!

So what is it about scientology that is just so gosh darn beguiling? Does this mean Elisabeth Moss, Tom Cruise, Will Smith and Beck all congregate together and talk Scientology type things in L.A.? Do they all hang out?

In Case You Didn’t Know says Holmes has never even admitted to being a full-on Scientologist. Although it’s rumored she converted once she started dating and then married Tom Cruise in 2005.

The Xenu folks have a system they claim works with addicts.  And let’s face it, Amy is an addict of the biggest kind even if her parents won’t admit it.  At this point, what’s the harm in letting them try?  Amy is so down the beaten and broken road, the Scientologists can’t make her any worse.  Heck, they may actually do her GOOD!

This charming news story continues with an account of Amy, in regards to her nose, agreeing it was a problem, but her problem, so “leave it.” And then she fell ”against the DJ stand” and passed out. Oh, that Amy. I want her at my birthday party this year. Hell, I want her at my wedding.

In other Winehouse news, Tom Cruise wants her in Scientology. He thinks his crew of freaks and geeks will change her drug of choice from crack cocaine to whatever-the-hell-Tom-Cruise-is-smoking.

“They told her they wanted to help her beat drugs and could tailor-make a program so she have to go to a residential center. She liked that idea because her husband Blake is out of prison soon and wouldn’t want to be away from him when he’s finally freed.”

It seems that Juliette Lewis introduced the screaming rocker to the ‘religion’ as a way for her to deal with her recent struggles – divorce, etc.  While Pink isn’t a full fledged convert, she was taken by the religion and is pursuing it a bit more.   I can’t see Pink sitting and listening to a rant by Tom Cruise.  Can you?  She seems to be a bit more independent than that.

And even though she is divorcing husband Carey Hart, they are good friends, it wasn’t bitter and he says he even still loves her.  Not much to get through there if you ask me!

Big stars like Smith traditionally distribute “wrap presents” to crew members after completing a film. His recent gift after wrapping next summer’s comedy “Hancock” was a card good for a personality test at your local Scientology center.

Smith, who is best buddies with Scientology booster Tom Cruise, has never confirmed that he joined the church. But he told “Access Hollywood” last month: “I was introduced to it by Cruise, and I’m a student of world religion. I was raised in a Baptist household. I went to a Catholic school, but the ideas of the Bible are 98% the same ideas of Scientology, 98% the same ideas of Hinduism and Buddhism.”

Presumably the other 2% is the part about the evil space emperor who put the hydrogen bombs in the volcano. – source: NY Daily News
