Here’s the latest entertainment news: SHANIA TWAIN fell on her ass last Wednesday night at the CMT Awards! Thankfully, she kept her cool.
Shania took a painful—and undoubtedly embarrassing—spill after she was introduced and called onstage by Kid Rock to present the Male Video of the Year award. The singer hit a particularly slippery spot on the recently waxed floor while she tottered on in her high heels, which caused her to slip and fall HARD on her butt. But she was up again in seconds, and approached the stage to deafening cheers and applause.
In her first interview in 5 years, country crooner Shania Twain told Oprah how devastated she was about her divorce, and the double whammy of discovering her husband was having an affair with her best friend.
In 2008, after learning her husband of 14 years Robert “Mutt” Lange was filing for divorce, she found out the next day that he was sleeping with a woman she thought was her closest confidante, Marie-Anne Thiebaud. Shania says:

Shania Twain is a married woman again! Shania, the Canadian country superstar only announced her engagement a few days before Christmas and she’s already married!
Shania, the 45-year-old Canadian country-pop singer and her Swiss businessman fiance, Frédéric Thiébaud, wed in an intimate ceremony in Rincon, Puerto Rico on Saturday.
Let’s a twist to their relationship. Shania’s husband of 14 years, producer, Robert “Mutt” Lange left her for her ex-BFF, Marie-Ann Thiebaud who’s happens to be Frédéric Thiébaud’s ex-wife. In the wake of their painful separations, the couple reached out to each other and eventually fell in love. It’s a happy ending!
Shania Twain is engaged to Frederic Thiebaud. On the surface it’s absolutely wonderful that 45-year-old Shania Twain found love. If you dig a bit deeper, the situation seems…eh, shady at best.
Some background info: Frederic Thiebaud is the ex-husband of Shania‘s former best friend, Marie-Ann Thiebaud. Marie-Ann and Shania had a famous falling out after, oh, Marie-Ann stole her husband Robert Lange back in 2008. Yeah – awkward.
Shania Twain may get the American Idol judge title. It appears Jennifer Lopez is out and that Shania is next up for the running of the judge vacancy.

Shania did a guest spot on American Idol once, didn’t she? OK, twice.
“They’ve been after her ever since she was a mentor on the show last season,” a source told People.com yesterday. “And they haven’t given up.”
Shania Twain will be a guest judge on American Idol. The Idol producers aren’t wasting any time filling Paula Abdul’s vacant seat. It almost makes one wonder if they are proving they have no intention of meeting Paula’s demands, even after she relented and said she would consider coming back…for the right price.
