Who would have thought?

Now that he’s not saving the world from alien robots, hooking up with all his hot female co-stars, or getting into bar fights, Shia finds himself with a bit more time on his hands… enough time, in fact, to write and illustrate his own comic books.

The actor, who has produced three graphic novels and a webcomic series sold through his own self-publishing website called The Campaign Book, was even present at the recent Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo last weekend, where he enjoyed “having an opportunity to blend in with 5,000 fans all enjoying the same thing.”

Now the question on everyone’s minds is… why comics? Shia explains to PEOPLE:

“I just did it for fun… I had some downtime and I’ve always been a big fan of comic books.”

But don’t fret, people. Mr. LaBeouf has no plans to quit acting anytime soon despite his promising career as a cartoonist. He shares:

“I do love acting… But this is a fun escape once in a while.”

Isn’t it fun when you find out your favorite actors or actresses have other talents aside from acting?

Star news noted Shia‘s been working out, judging from his bulging physique…a far cry from his geeky string bean “Even Stevens” days at Disney. And despite having a visible impediment in the form of a previously crushed left hand from injuries sustained during a car crash three years ago, that hasn’t stopped him from making his fists, powered by newly-built muscles, bump into other people’s faces…

“He got into a confrontation with a couple of people,”

a witness said.

“He took a few punches to the face. He was obviously pretty intoxicated.”

It seems Shia‘s traversing the same path his old man did, but with alcohol instead of drugs. Just two months ago, he got totally shit-faced at a party, spitting water out at everyone and scaring his date off despite fellow party-goer Marilyn Manson‘s attempts to calm him down.

Somebody really needs to hold an intervention for the “Transformers” star, or he won’t make it to “T4″. At least not with a face battered from too much drunken fighting.

Hollywood rumors heard that Shia, who’s previously gotten in trouble for his drinking before, was head over ass in drink, and not even Marilyn and friends could calm him down.

According to sources:

“Shia picked up a water bottle and shot a mouthful of water all over his seated date’s legs. Then he put more water in his mouth and started spitting it all over his tablemates, including Marilyn Manson. He seemed wasted. All of a sudden Shia started shouting at his date and getting visibly angry. He lunged through the very thick seated crowd, and the crowd pleaded with him and encouraged him to sit down. They tried to hold him back — but he kept struggling through.”

And it gets even worse.

“Shia had to climb over people and tear himself out of the grasp of various strangers who were trying to keep him from going crazy. His date panicked and ran out after him. Marilyn looked shocked and annoyed but stayed seated. Shia and the girl did not return.”

Poor Shia. He’s tried so hard to stay off his drug-addled dad’s path but fell victim to the drink instead. Somebody needs to stage an intervention for that guy.

“It was tough. I really had to tie myself into my trailer. I really had to restrain myself,”

Rosie joked.

“Seven months of shooting was really tough for me. I had to wear a chastity belt and everything.”

But unlike Megan Fox before her, who Shia claims hooked up with him in between the first two Transformers movies, Rosie was able to restrain her urges and not fall headlong into lust with LaBeouf, star news reports.

After all, with macho ass-kicking “Transporter” star, Jason Statham as a boyfriend, who would want to stray?

Shia appeared on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ and talked about meeting Justin for the very first time. He shares:

“I met him at the MTV Movie Awards… He rolls with a huge squad of dudes — he has to. He’s got this presence like Buddha — he’s like the young prince. I went up to him and I went to go say, ‘Hi’ and the security guy says, ‘Woah woah woah’– he was ready to take me down — and Bieber does this two-finger wave like, ‘He’s OK.’”

The ‘Transformers’ star adds:

“So he’s very cool to me. Super cool! He’s like a 16-year old Sinatra. He’s got so much presence.”

Justin’s name came up after Jimmy Kimmel showed the video of his girlfriend Selena Gomez’s first encounter with Shia (who’s been her biggest celebrity crush since forever), which showed her gushing about how “cute” and “handsome” Shia was.

Shia also had nothing but nice things to say about Selena, calling her a “cool person” and a “very pretty girl.”

The Hollywood rumors began circulating after Shia gave an explosive interview to Details magazine, where he freely admitted that he and Megan hooked up while they were filming ‘Transformers.’ However, a source who was on set with Megan and Shia at the time denies that the two pulled a fast one on Brian:

“Yes, Megan and Shia hooked up… It was when Megan and Brian broke up. They had a 10-month break before getting back together.”

The source then explains that the connection between Megan and Shia could have been brought on by the problems they had while filming, particularly due to director Michael Bay’s rumored temper (which was probably why Megan likened him to Hitler):

“[Shia and Megan] bonded while filming… Believe me, that was an unhappy set. I think they were drawn together because it was so ugly working on that film.”

Okay. So Megan and Shia are in the clear. Or are they?

Shia was seen holding hands with a then mystery lady over breakfast at Little Dom’s in L.A. back in December as we reported and according to Hollywood gossip news, that’s the same girl who Shia‘s been seeing for the past few months. Karolyn, 22, is Vietnamese-American, a L.A. based stylist; the two met in a karaoke club in Echo park, L.A.

“Pâté? A cheese plate? That’s a very 25-year-old deal,” he tells Los Angeles Times says. “I can get down with some fig jelly and some cheese on a cracker. …. She’s having me try different things. I was scared of fish, ’cause of my upbringing, being Jewish. Gefilte can ruin your entire seafood life.”

It was a huge box office success grossing close to $800 million worldwide even though reviews from critics and fans were mixed. Isn’t that always the case? Shortly after the release of the film, LaBeouf admitted he was disappointed with the revival, insisting he had “dropped the ball” and let fansdown.

Last year, Shia said, “I feel like I dropped the ball on the legacy that people loved and cherished… You can blame it on the writer and you can blame it on [director] Steven [Spielberg]. But the actor’s job is to make it come alive and make it work, and I couldn’t do it…”

And LaBeouf even claimed his co-star Ford agreed with him, adding, “We [Ford and LaBeouf] had major discussions. He wasn’t happy with it either.”

Ford has spoken out about Shia’s remarks, calling his co-star a “f**king idiot” for turning against the movie.

He tells Details magazine, “I think he was a f**king idiot. As an actor, I think it’s my obligation to support the film without making a complete a** of myself. Shia is ambitious, attentive, and talented – and he’s learning how to deal with a situation which is very unique and difficult.”

I totally agree with Ford, you can not bite the hand that feeds you! If you didn’t like the rivival, don’t take the part, it’s that simple. As for the film, audiences loved it.

Selena was beyond flustered upon coming face-to-face with Shia, whom she’s had a celebrity crush on for years. The ‘Monte Carlo’ actress walked into a dressing room after some of her handlers tricked her into thinking that there were some fans in there who wanted to meet her, and upon seeing Shia, she quickly backtracked, blurting out:

“Oh my gosh!”

Shia rushed after her and called out:

“Hey, nice to meet you. Hey, how are you? How you doin’?”

A visibly shy Selena then came up to him and gave him a hug:

“Hi, I’m so sorry to bother you.”

Shia said:

“Thanks for being so sweet to me. You’re really sweet to me.”

She shyly replied:

“Thank you. I admire you.”

After taking a couple of pictures together, Selena and her companions went into another room. The actress/singer was absolutely breathless as she gushed:

“Oh my gosh… He’s so handsome!”

Selena then tweeted a video of their meeting with the words:

“Best…Day…Ever.”

Q: Can you talk about Megan Fox being absent this time and how it was working with Rosie (Huntington-Whiteley) as your leading lady?

Shia: Well, Megan was a good friend when she was here. This time, I was presented with a different script, and different role. These two people have completely different energies. This is Rosie’s first one out of the gate, and she soared. It takes a lot of strength to be in this position. Rosie is very poised and great at her job, as well. I think they’re both very good at the job. I enjoyed Megan; I enjoyed Rosie. I think they’re both great actresses.

For the fans, I think actually, it’s beneficial to have a new set of eyes. Because in the first movie, what you had was this discovery of these people seeing these robots for the first time. You lose that in the second movie. And Mikaela (Megan’s character) and Sam almost became one character with no arc, in the second movie. So selfishly, it hindered my performance because I had less to chew on, and it hindered her performance, as well. And I think it hindered the movie.

Here, you have a fresh set of eyes, in Rosie. That makes Sam more heroic. When two people have (reached) the same status, they’ve been through the wars together, there’s nobody for Sam to be heroic for. And so (having Rosie in this movie) just ups the heroism in Sam and therefore makes my character more interesting. So selfishly, I was very happy that Rosie was here.

Q: They are both very beautiful girls. You might have the entire male population envying you.

Shia: These women are very beautiful, clearly. So yeah, that’s enjoyable, on a purely 14-year-old male level. But also, the whole cast is really strong. But yeah, I’d be lying if I said it’s not a pleasure to be around these women and especially because there was so much machismo on this set. You know, Rosie would always come to the set with levity, joy, a break in the monotonous which you needed. She was sort of like the mascot, like the cheerleader for all of us. So you know, that’s all very enjoyable.

I am trying to figure out what does Shia mean by purely 14-year-old male level? Oh I wonder all these months spent with Rosie if anything happened between these two.. they must have been rooting to be attracted to each other just like he and Megan did? If you missed this one, celebrity gossip websites are going nuts about LaBeouf telling the world via his interview with Details magazine that he did indeed hook up with Megan Fox while they were working together! Whether Megan was with Brian Austin Green at that time, Shia said he doesn’t know.

“I don’t know, man. I don’t know. I don’t know. I don’t know. I don’t know… It was what it was.”

So this begs us to ask the question: Do you think Shia also hooked up with Rosie or not?

In an interview with Details magazine, Shia revealed that he was actually hooking up with Megan while they were filming the first two ‘Transformers’ films. He explains:

“Look, you’re on the set for six months, with someone who’s rooting to be attracted to you, and you’re rooting to be attracted to them.”

Shia adds:

“I never understood the separation of work and life in that situation. But the time I spent with Megan was our own thing, and I think you can see the chemistry onscreen.”

Guess that’s why they had such sizzling chemistry onscreen! But wait, wasn’t Megan seeing then-boyfriend (who’s now her husband) Brian Austin Green? Shia nervously answers:

“I don’t know, man. I don’t know. I don’t know. I don’t know. I don’t know… It was what it was.”

Shia, who has starred in three installments of the successful ‘Transformers’ franchise, is moving on to bigger (and better?) things. The actor is adamant that he will not be returning for the fourth installment—if there was to be one—of the hit sci-fi films:

“I’m not coming back to do another one. I don’t think [director Michael Bay] will either… It’s still a hot property, I think, especially coming out of the third one. So I imagine they’ll reboot it at some point with someone else.”

However, Shia admits it would be pretty weird for him to see someone else fighting Decepticons with Optimus Prime and Bumblebee:

“You have an onus in it. I’ll enjoy it. I’ll go see it opening night, I’ll be there. But there is a disconnect. It’s mine, dude… It’s mine.”

But we’re getting a little bit ahead of ourselves, aren’t we? We haven’t even seen ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ yet! There’s still that to look forward to (the film will hit theaters in July) and Shia shares how proud he is of his last *sob* ‘Transformers’ flick:

“This is the best movie we’ve made, I’m serious… It’s not a joke. I’m dead honest, man. I get myself in trouble all the time, but this is our best installment. It’s our best movie.”

Shia, who worked with Megan for the first two ‘Transformers’ movies, says of his sexpot co-star:

“Megan developed this Spice Girl strength, this woman-empowerment [stuff] that made her feel awkward about her involvement with [director] Michael Bay, who some people think is a very lascivious filmmaker, the way he films women.”

He adds:

“Mike films women in a way that appeals to a 16-year-old sexuality. It’s summer. It’s Michael‘s style. And I think [Fox] never got comfortable with it… This is a girl who was taken from complete obscurity and placed in a sex-driven role in front of the whole world and told she was the sexiest woman in America. And she had a hard time accepting it.”

Due to the rampant Hollywood rumors of conflicts with ‘Transformers’ director Michael Bay, Megan was replaced in the third installment of the film franchise by model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

Shia also shares:

“Rosie comes with this Victoria’s Secret background, and she’s comfortable with it, so she can get down with Mike‘s way of working and it makes the whole set vibe very different.”

With two such sexy, radiant co-stars, we wonder whom he liked working with more? Hmm.

Shia explained:

“I walked out to have a cigarette. I was away with some friends. Some guys instigated me and that’s what it was. Some name calling… I didn’t know them.”

Reportedly, the actor got into a tussle with a fan after he refused to take a photo with the latter. The bar fight occurred right outside the Mad Bull’s Tavern in L.A, which resulted in Shia and the unidentified fan getting handcuffed by the police.

The actor tells Ellen DeGeneres:

“It was just an awkward situation … I’m not trying to challenge anybody either … People get drunk, people get crazy.”

This isn’t the first time that Shia has found himself the subject of Hollywood news for his bad temper. However, he doesn’t really care what people think of him:

“The only opinion that really counts for me, and I don’t care how cheesy it sounds, my mother’s opinion is very — it’s a serious deal for me… It’s really the only honest opinion I feel I truly have and the only opinion that matters in my life.”

That’s so sweet, Shia! But maybe you should start caring about your fans’ opinions too?

The biggest and most noticeable difference of this movie from the others is the absence of actress Megan Fox, who starred in the first two ‘Transformers’ installments. In ‘Dark of the Moon’ we find Sam Witwicky, played by Shia LaBeouf, with a new love interest, played by British model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.

The film also stars Josh Duhamel, Patrick Dempsey, Tyrese Gibson, John Malkovich, Frances McDormand, John Turturro, Kevin Dunn and Julie White.

In this movie, which opens on July 1, the Autobots find out about a spacecraft from Cybertron hidden on the Moon, and they must get to it and learn of its secrets before the Decepticons do.

The biggest problem was Shia’s height or hers! Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush caught up with Rosie:

“Are you taller than Shia?” Billy asked.

“Yes, by quite a lot,” she explained. “I had to wear heels the whole way through filming. When it came to our kissing scene, I said, ‘Michael, please let me take my shoes off! I feel so unelegant and I feel so unfeminine.’ He said no, ‘You’re giving small men across America hope!’”

Rosie, the British Victoria’s Secret model-turned actress who replaced Megan Fox in the Transformers franchise did not say Shia was a bad kisser. Despite their height difference, she said her Shia was phenomenal.

“It was great working with Shia, he’s such an intelligent, intelligent guy,” she continued. “He’s worked so hard on these movies. He really held my hand like a baby the whole way through.”

Would Rosie drop modelling and become a full-time actress?

“We’ll see what happens,” Rosie told Billy with a smile. “Hopefully, I’ll get to make another movie.”

Rosie received the Female Star of Tomorrow award at CinemaCon 2011 just this week on Thursday! Surely there will be many movies to come, that’s my thinking!

It all went down at Mad Bulls Tavern in Sherman Oaks, CA. Sources at the bar tell TMZ.com, Shia is a frequent patron of the establishment. According to witnesses, he got a little rowdy and ended up getting punched in the face.

Sources close to Shia paint a different story. They say Shia was jumped on his way out of the bar. They say police arrived on scene shortly thereafter, cuffed everyone involved, and eventually let Shia go.

Police have no record of any arrests being made. So that’s a good thing!

According to a source, the actor’s new lady is an L.A.-based hair stylist.

LaBeouf and his Wall Street 2 co-star, Carey Mulligan, 25, met on the set of the movie but called it quits last September.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon (Transformers 3) will hit theaters in the summer of 2011. In Transformers 3, Shia will be starring opposite Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, the gorgeous Victoria’s Secret model who has replaced Megan Fox in the sequel.
