Even Victoria Beckham is planning on singing for the event. Her husband David has also been featured in commercials hyping the event. Will the Spice Girls make you want to see more? From NME:

 London 2012′s opening ceremony is set to feature a gig showcasing some of Britain’s most famous acts, according to organisers, and Fuller thinks The Spice Girls would be perfect for the event. “They stand for so much in British music history and I can’t think of a better time for them to get back together for another performance. The demand for them as a band is as strong as ever”

To me, this sounds like wishful thinking on the part of their manager and not a confirmed appearance. Melanie B, Geri and Victoria have busy lives, and Mel C and Emma have new babies. Are they really going to do this gig?

It seems there is no Spice Girl reunion planned. Mel said this via the Mirror:

Mel B has poured doubt on rumours of another Spice Girl reunion, rejecting stories that the girls have “really exciting” plans coming up.

She took to her Twitter page to exclaim she knows nothing about reports quoting her as saying there is a Spice Girl-related surprise in the pipeline.

The mistaken quotes read: “We are definitely going to be doing something together again soon. I don’t want to spoil the surprise but it’s really, really exciting.”

While a Spice Girls reunion would be cool, it hasn’t been that long since they just finished a World Tour. Why would they do it again so soon? I wonder what they really do have planned though…what do you think it is?

Victoria was hard to convince the last time they had a reunion, and it’s only been a year or so. Do they really need another reunion or are the girls just getting back together to have a job? From the Metro:

Posh said she knew nothing about the group planning a return to the charts and insisted she was up to her neck in fashion work.

“I haven’t been told anything about a reunion,” added the 35-year-old.

“No one’s asked me to be part of anything like that and I’m just so busy at the moment.”

She said she was happy to concentrate on designing her next Victoria Beckham Collection after a successful New York Fashion Week.

I think of all the girls, it looked like Victoria had the least amount of fun performing. Maybe it’s just her personality, but she doesn’t have the natural stage presence like the others.

Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) was not present and it is believed that she is busy launching her Spring/Summer 10 collection at New York Fashion Week.
It is understood the foursome continued negotiations at the nearby Mayfair Hotel, where they enjoyed several cocktails.
Mel B later hinted imminent reunion on her Twitter account: “Spice girls, stadiums?????????? Had dinner with the amazing melc emma and geri I love them so much (sic). – via Bang Showbiz

Beckwith is a cousin of English socialite Tamara Beckwith.

According to Deanpiper: “Geri’s not doing boys for the meantime. But that’s not to say a girl can’t have a little bit of fun is it? She’s enjoying getting out there and being single now. The problem is if she goes on a date then there’s paparazzi.”

The Spice Girls Reunion Tour has been nothing but a big success.The Spice Girls – Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice) , Melanie Brown (Scary Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice) - are now in their 30s, wives and mothers but they are still as hot as can be!

(( Shortly before the Spice Girls played their comeback concert at L.A.’s Staples Center last night (the third sold-out date on their reunion tour, following the December 2 kickoff in Vancouver, Canada and December 4 in San Jose, CA), commotion filled the stadium when Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, and their daughter Suri Cruise were sighted in a glass-walled private booth, sitting with David Beckham and the Beckhams’ sons.

Cruise stood on the balcony to wave to screaming fans and pose for photo opps, and the screams escalated to even more eardrum-splitting decibel levels when David Beckham emerged to purchase cotton candy from a passing vendor.

Other notable Spice-loving spectators in the audience included Perez Hilton (wearing a “Spice Up Your Life” T-shirt); fellow notorious “celwebrity” blogger Jeffree Star; and countless females (and some males) decked out in sequins, feather boas, platform boots, and Union Jack minidresses.

The Spice Girls’ Reunion Tour continues tonight, December 7, with a second night at the Staples Center.

(( The Spice Girls opened with their signature song, ”Spice Up Your Life,” followed by ”Stop” and ”Say You’ll Be There.”

The show was the first with all five of the original group since Geri Halliwell ‘ aka Ginger Spice quit to pursue a solo career in 1998. Their last album, ”Forever,” released in 2000 and without Halliwell, fared poorly. They broke up in 2001. As they prepared for the concert, the Spice Girls said they were excited and nervous about their big night.

”You know what, so much time has passed, so much water has gone under the bridge, it’s just great to all be back together,” said Melanie Chisholm, also known as Sporty Spice. Chisholm dismissed the notion that there was any tension among the women. ”I don’t think we ever thought it was the four of us and Geri,” she said. ”Us coming back together has been five individuals coming back together.”

Just hours before they took the stage, Victoria Beckham’s husband, David Beckham, gave each member of the group a special bracelet to mark their return. Other members of the Spice Girls are Emma Bunton aka Baby Spice  and Melanie Brown aka Scary Spice.

The Spice Girls were one of the biggest acts of the ’90s with more than 55 million records sold. Other stops on their reunion tour include Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New York, London and Madrid, Spain. – as reports by Starpulse

There were rumors that they lip-synched their way through. Did they or didn’t they? No idea but does it matter? I love Victoria Beckham and I know someone else agrees with me.

I’m not impressed with the song at all. But the Spice Girls – A Big WOW! Not too much of Victoria Beckham in the video surprisingly! Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice) really took the stage with her fit as a fiddle body!

The newly reunited Spice Girls’ greatest hits album will be available starting Nov. 13 at Victoria’s Secret stores and on the company’s Web site in the U.S. The disc will be available nationwide January 15.

Spice Girls’ new album will be available starting Nov. 13 under an agreement between Victoria’s Secret, the lingerie retailer and Capital Music Group, the five-member group’s label. A Spice Girls reunion tour also will include a performance at Victoria’s Secret’s televised fashion show on Dec. 4.

Victoria Beckham is absolutely gorgeous. I don’t even understand why the tabloids always seem to find faults in her. How many celebrities can you name that always look this good in casual or dressy? Seriously, Posh never even has a hair out of place. I love her! And for hubby, David Beckham, he’s just stunning!

The Spice Girls have added three new dates to their reunion tour, taking the total number of concerts to 14.

In addition to the original dates, the group will perform in Vancouver, San Jose, California and Shanghai – kicking off the tour in Canada on December 2nd.

At the height of their fame, the Spice Girls sold 55 million albums and had nine UK number one singles.

Three million people have registered to see the band since plans for the reunion tour were revealed last month.

In a statement on their website, the group said: “In true girl power tradition we are taking over the world… again!

The tour will cover six continents, but includes just one date in the UK, in London on 15 December.

The girl band will kick off a world tour in America. The five – now all in their thirties – will start on 7 December in Los Angeles – the new home of Posh Spice Victoria Beckham and her family.

The group, including Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm, Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton fell straight back in sync, striking familiar poses for the world’s media.

The reunion tour is set to hit London on December 15 and take in Madrid, Koln, Las Vegas, Sydney, Cape Town and Buenos Aires among others.

Posh said: “My main reason for doing this is for my kids – so they can see what mummy used to do. I’m going to be the cool one in the family for once!”
