While some doting parents push their children on to the soccer field, atop horses, or into baseball as soon as they could walk to develop their athletic prowess early, the “Mission Impossible” star and his wife, Katie Holmes decided to hone their daughter’s inner fashionista instead…

“Katie has her create things and sew and stuff like that. It’s kind of amazing,”

Tom Cruise told US Magazine.

“It’s beautiful. It’s really beautiful.”

And it’s true. Suri Cruise often looks like a pint-sized runway model each time she steps out in public, with her haute couture dresses, faux fur jackets, legging ensembles, ballet flats, kitten heels, and sheepskin boots…and her proud papa says Suri “dresses” herself for each outing.

“She was just born that way. I don’t know what to say,”

Tom Cruise sighed indulgently.

“She really creates her own outfits. She even tells Katie and I what we should wear.”

And it just goes to show how much of Tom and Katie‘s life Suri holds sway over, because the five-year-old princess just handed daddy and mommy a $130,000 Christmas wish list, which includes a pony, diamond earrings, and a fairy princess-type gown…

Suri’s tree house—her $100,000 tree house—comes with indoor plumbing, electricity, scurity cameras, and even luxurious shag carpeting. It also comes with a small army of nannies to follow little Suri’s every beck and call.

A family friend says:

“It may sound funny, but Suri now has her dream home… She hosts tea parties there on fine china and watches TV with friends.”

According to reports, Tom and Katie even let 5-year old Suri design and decorate her little treetop abode exactly the way she wanted.

So she’s got a $150,000 shoe collection, and now a $100,000 tree house. What’s next, her own amusement park?

Apart from her usual Marc Jacobs preference, Suri also has several pairs of made-to-order shoes for her dainty footsies. In fact, mom Katie recently ordered specially made Louboutins, having them fitted with heels which Suri throws tantrums about because she absolutely prefers to wearing flats.

With 130 pairs of shoes and counting, Suri and her wardrobe have made the 21st place in the world’s best dressed list. Tom especially encourages his daughter’s passion for fashion. Celebrity news heard a source say:

“Tom loves seeing his little girl dressed up so girlie and cute. He encourages her to wear frilly dresses and tiny heels. He says Suri is growing up to be as fashionable as her mum.”

And while we’ll refrain from conjecture about daddy living his unrealized dreams through his darling angel, we still sigh at the thought of how much all those shoes will fetch at auction. Surely enough to make a couple of payments on our mortgage or some overdue utility bills…

An eyewitness tells Life & Style that little adorable Suri put her stuffed animals aside to play with her new iPad while dining with her famous parents, Tom and Katie at Il Cantinori in NYC on May 24. Suri used a drawing program on the iPad while Tom and Katie were chatting with their dinning friends. Suri played with the new gadget for about 20 minutes before heading out of the restaurant with her parents before midnight.

According to reports, iPads remain sold out in many locations and the wait list continues to grow. Suri is one of just 2 million iPad owners since the item launched on April 3.

Would you ever consider buying an iPad for your 4-year-old? Amazing what celebrity kids can indulge in, isn’t it?

Suri looks so adorable both in PJ’s and her girly girl dresses. Suri is always so dressed up for a little 3-year-old, she loves her girly girl dresses and those high heels! So seeing Suri in her pajamas and her bunny slippers just reminded us that she’s just like any regular 3-year-old– so precious and adorable at all time.

What Tom is supposed to have spent really doesn’t surprise me.  I mean, didn’t this man spend millions of dollars to bomb proof a car?  And since everything Tom does seems to be over the top – couch jumping, lavish weddings, prescription fights – $1 million is jump chump change.  From Showbiz Spy:

“It doesn’t matter what Suri is doing, Tom wants her to be able to do it better than any other child. All parents think their kids are special, but Tom and Katie firmly believe Suri is gifted.

“She is learning French and Spanish and has a tutor she sees once a week.

“Suri has shown a real love of dancing, so Tom and Katie are encouraging her as much as possible. She practices ballet, tap and modern dance for hours, nearly every day. She also has private gymnastics lessons and is learning soccer.”

Suri is TWO YEARS OLD!  What parent doesn’t think their child is gifted, come on!  Let her be a child or else she’ll be the next messed up Olsen twin or Peaches Geldof, guaranteed!

She told the magazine:

“Some of the stuff [people said] was such absolutely horrible things to say about a child. It was so uncalled for and so disgusting. Enough is enough. Why don’t you come over and have dinner? See what there is to see. During the first couple of days [with Suri], we would just sleep right next to her to make sure she was breathing. And I was constantly learning on the job, but Tom was very helpful and supportive.”

Oh, and she’s not pregnant. Really, Katie should tell her pubicity-loving husband not to tote Suri around like a prop baby. That’s the first step in gettting out of the spotlight….but you didn’t hear it from us.

Katie might not have that much money herself, but hubby Tom Cruise surely does.  And he doesn’t seem to mind letting the little wife spend it.  The Telegraph reports that:

As well as regularly frequenting the city’s best restaurants, Holmes is often photographed with her daughter Suri carrying purchases from some of New York’s most expensive shops.

AND:

…they have spent an estimated $7,315 on dining out at top restaurants such as brasserie Balthazar, and sushi restaurant Nobu and more than $17,000 on clothes for Holmes and Suri from shops like Hermes and Bonpoint.

Can you imagine having that much money to throw around?  Wouldn’t it be incredible?

Tom says he is incredibly fit for 46.  Does he realize that even if he HURRIED Katie, it would be 14 years before Katie was done with 10 kids.  He’d be 56 at birth for the last, and 74 when they graduated from high school.  Yuck!

He isn’t worried with having to keep up with Katie.  In confident swagger, he says to The Sun:

Tom grins: “I want ten children. I love kids. I feel really fortunate to have the teenagers and a two and a half-year-old. It’s a great dynamic.”

Star magazine is reporting that Suri is more popular than her parents and the “source” is mystefied why she doesn’t have her own site dedicated to her yet. We also learned Suri gets her sparkly mary janes and pullovers from designers hoping to create buzz for their lines. Suri is sort of like the Halle Berry of the playground, if she wears it, it sells.

Cruise told Usmagazine.com:

Acting is … a great life to get to entertain people and create characters and stories. They have the life that I wanted,” Cruise said. “I always wanted to travel the world, to be developed by different cultures, learn about their history. So that’s how I raised my kids — that they have full exposure to the world and all different kinds of ideas and philosophies so that they can make choices for themselves,” he went on. “I support them in whatever choices they want to make. But I do have a thing,” Cruise said. “If you’re going to do it, really do it. Don’t be casual about it.”

Tom doesn’t want any half-assed actors living under his roof. If you’re going to do it—DO IT! He wants you jumping on Oprah’s couch, screaming at Matt Lauer and joining some weird religious cult. No little artsy, indie projects either. Big budget or nothing.

The play will officially open October 16 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre in NYC. So for now, I guess the Cruises will be spending a lot of time in the Big Apple. I love NYC and there’s no place like New York!
