Heath Ledger Wins Best Supporting Dramatic Actor for his role as the Joker in “The Dark Knight” at last night’s Golden Globes 2009. It was a rather touching and emotional moment. The Dark Knight’s director Christopher Nolan accepted Ledger’s award from presenter, Demi Moore. Nolan said he did so with “a mixture of sadness and incredible pride.”

Slumdog Millionaire was the big winner at the VH1’s 14th Annual Critics’ Choice Awards last night; It took home the Best Picture Award. The film won a total of five awards out of six nominations.  Sean Penn won Best Actor Award for Milk.

Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep tied in the Best Actress Award, with Hathaway winning for Rachel Getting Married and Streep for Doubt.

Tropic Thunder managed to pull in over $26 million to topple Dark Knight from its #1 spot.  Tropic Thunder also has Ben Stiller, Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Cruise in it.  That’s a lot of star power!

 
 

The Christian Bale arrest drama is getting way out of hand.  Not only has the story done a complete 180 on who is the villain…it gets seedy.

It seems that the tiff started over a decade ago, when Bale’s mom and dad got divorced.  He moved with his dad to LA to further his acting career in 1992.  His mom has had her nose out of joint ever since.  They have had a strained relationship, but she was invited to the premier anyway. 

 
 

The Dark Knight is a mega summer box office hit!  Warner Bros.’ Batman sequel “The Dark Knight” took in a record $18 million-plus at yesterday morning’s 12:01 shows, according to an executive at the studio, jump-starting what could one of the summer’s top hits.
