Hollywood celebrity news thinks Prada may be veering off the beaten path by bringing Tobey onboard as its new spokesmodel for Prada menswear.

Still, the Golden Globe winner, who hasn’t appeared on the silver screen since the film “Brothers” opened in theaters in 2009, exudes a certain heavy-lidded allure which contrasts quite appealingly to his boyish face.

Miuccia Prada herself is quite taken with the slight “Seabiscuit” star:

“…his mood is transfixed and pensive, full of vibrant intensity and mystery.”

Yeah, we sense a mystery, alright. What say you?

Is it just us, or does Hollywood seem to be popping them out more than ever? We’ll be sitting on the edge of our seats waiting for the name of Toby and Jennifer‘s baby to be released. Let’s hope for his sake the middle name is a bit more butch than Sweetheart or Lamby or Honeypie.

Over the weekend, some dissilusioned paparazzi got all bloodied up by one of Toby Maguire’s friends. I guess the Spiderman star was getting annoyed by the pap snapping while his daughter browsed pumpkins. The altercation ended with an oh-so-classy ambulance ride and police ticketing combo. Oh, those stars. They’re just like us!

It’s a story of a man (Maguire) who is sent to fight in Afghanistan while his misfit brother (Gyllenhaal) cares for his wife (Portman) and child.

Sounds like Portman has to play lover to either Tobey Maquire or Jake Gyllenhaal or both. Are you going to watch “Brothers?”

Only a handful of close friends were with Maguire, the Spider-Man star and his bride, Jennifer Meyer, when they tied the knot in a sunset ceremony on Hawaii’s Big Island.

Tobey, 32, has been dating Meyer, the daughter of Universal Studios head Ron Meyer for four years.

Congratulations to the happy couple! Another day another good news in Hollywood!

Did you know Tobey wanted to be a chef instead of an actor when he was a kid? When he was in sixth grade, Tobey had wanted to enroll in Home Economic class but his mother gave him $100 to take a drama class instead. I guess that $100 has really paid off, hasn’t it?

Superhero movie “Spider-Man 3” climbed another 2 percent over its debut weekend at box offices to a record $382 million world-wide gross when final figures were tallied on Monday. Columbia Pictures, which released the film based on the crime fighter with spider-like powers, said the final North American total was $151 million and the international tally was $231 million.

Both North American and international box office figures make “Spider-Man 3″ the No. 1 debut for a 3-day weekend. It tops 2006′s “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest” in North America with $135.6 million and “The Da Vinci Code” internationally with $155 million.”Spider-Man 3” was a risk for Columbia with a cost of around $258 million to make and another $125 million to market around the world, according to studio and industry sources.”Spider-Man 3” kicked off Hollywood’s lucrative summer season in which up to 40 percent of annual ticket sales occur. Still to come are widely anticipated films such as “Shrek the Third” and “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End.”
